One of the top highlights of our trip to Spain…. Carlos and team were fantastic to hang with for a few hours. We learned a ton at the market and then in the kitchen. Cooked with some great ingredients and nice wine pairings. What a great experience all around. Can’t recommend more even if you are an experienced cook.

Carlos was a fantastic teacher; his love of cooking shows! The class was a very good size (11) of friendly people, making the atmosphere intimate and cheerful.
I really was *so* keen to see how to make the famous Basque cheesecake and am eager to try it when I get back home. The cod omelette and hake in green sauce were delicious and the steak with peppers was amazing. The wine was also extremely good. I loved this course ❤️
The class experience was absolutely wonderful. I learned professional techniques for selecting and cooking seafood and meat. The instructor was highly professional and passionate.
Carlos is awesome. This is definitely worth doing and pretty reasonably priced as well. Carlos really knows his stuff and makes it fun. You'll love it!

Carlos was an excellent teacher! We learned so many great tricks and a lot of information in addition to the recipes. The class was fun and involved everyone. Carlos was wonderful to fix some of our errors without ever making anyone feel uncomfortable. The food was amazing and a very good overview of Basque cooking. I would recommend this class and market visit!
Highly recommend!! Class was extremely hands on with everyone chopping / cooking, and had a fair amount of exploration (markets!) and learning (basque delicacies, history, etc). The venue was also clean, bright, and well decorated, which made for a fun ambiance. Thank you Carlos!!
Our entire family had so much fun doing this activity during a heat wave that canceled our other plans. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed the market portion, learning a lot and the fish and meat. The cooking was wonderful and we enjoyed each course and the wine pairings. Definitely do this!

This class was great! Carlos was a great instructor. The food we cooked was really good. This was such a great way to learn about the cuisine of San Sebastián! I would highly recommend this as a great way to spend some time while here.

Wonderful experience ! Carlos showed and explained us many interesting things in the market as well during the cooking class giving helpful advices how to cook this and that, how to identify fresh fish etc. Very pleasant atmosphere and, above all, an excellent meal as result! Highly recommended!

The experience is very good, the organizer gave us hands-on experience on cooking. The communication needs improvement. I went to the meeting location instructed on the voucher, when I didn't see anyone there, I had to contact the organizer, I was given a new location, thank God it was a short walk to the new location.

First of all, I’m very sorry about the confusion with the meeting point. We used to meet at the tourist office, but after they moved to a new location further away from La Bretxa Market, we changed our meeting point as well to make things easier to find and easier for guests to spot us. We’re still improving the communication around that so future arrivals feel much smoother.
I’m very happy to hear that once you joined the class, you enjoyed the hands-on cooking experience and the time in the kitchen with us. Thankfully San Sebastián is walkable enough to save us sometimes 😅

Do not think twice- book now. We had the most fun meeting new friends from everywhere. We loved seeing the hidden treasure of the market and cooking delicious food together. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful. They were skilled chefs and charismatic teachers. This was truly a highlight of our trip. What began as a cooking class became a lively gathering of friends. I wish the world could experience what we enjoyed with our global neighbors today! 🩷
The instructors were excellent. The trip to the market to buy ingredients was enlightening and enjoyable. We prepared four courses and each person of the “couple” had opportunities to chop and cook. The selected courses were well chosen, varied, and delicious. I even learned things that I will take back to my own cooking.
Fantastic experience, great food, knowledgeable teachers. They have a dedicated kitchen facility for this class, it was enjoyable being with the group with plenty of space.
This is an excellent tour that includes seeing first hand the markets and how to choose the fresh profuce
Wow! Carlos (our chef instructor) is really cooking on all cylinders! We truly enjoyed this totally immersive experience, shopping together first for fresh fish and steak at the public market, then getting hands-on lessons in the making of 4 dishes. We especially loved the relaxed pace, and beautiful space that KOOKIN provides. Highly recommend.
You will be chopping, cutting, mixing and grilling but it is mostly a fun learning experience. Carlos is easy to understand and has plenty of knowledge to answer any of your questions.
