Challenging and exhilarating! I loved this excursion (female, 48, former athlete), but would warn anyone with ankle injuries this might be a risk. The hikes both down and back up to the pool dives are narrow, have slippery exposed tree roots, and require hanging onto trailside trees to maintain balance. Our 2 tour guides were very helpful and explained how to navigate the trail at every turn. If you want to take pics, you'll need a waterproof phone lanyard because you will be jumping off cliffs, cave swimming, or watching your kids jump off cliffs while you're treading water or finding a rock to rest on most of the time. If you're not a strong swimmer, they do offer vests. Only complaint is that the hosts promised to send video links of us diving (they shot vids of all of us via phone), but we did not receive, even after a request to send them.

You need water hiking shoes with good grips. Bring a wet bag. Take the jeep back up the mountain. Enjoy the views

Very strenuous activity which was not clearly indicated in the post. Slippery, steep and uneven path to waterfalls esp with rain. Bring a walking stick if you have one. Life jackets not well fitting and got pushed up and over my MIL’s head when jumping in the first time. This tour group uses personal vehicles for transportation and they had car issues the morning we went. They had to arrange another driver but still had us back at our cruise boat on time so appreciated the attention to that detail. The waterfalls are beautiful and as long as you know about the difficulty of the hike it is totally worth it.

DO NOT BOOK THEY SCAMMED ME! I booked this excursion for my boyfriend’s birthday and 1 hr before the excursion I got a phone call saying “the water levels are too dangerous because it’s been raining too much and we have to cancel and we’ll send you a refund.” They never responded after that, I’ve sent multiple calls & texts and they ignored me and I NEVER GOT A REFUND! They are SCAMMERS do NOT book!!!!!!

Chaco Azul is in the rain forest. It is remote with no cell service (important fact). Our family of three and twelve others were on the tour 12/21/24. It was a large group of 15 with several mediocre swimmers and about 5 teenagers. Three guides, Edward, Fabiola, and John (?) were with us. All of them very nice. They outfitted us all with lifejackets and suggested we all leave our phones in their cars as they would take pictures, The hike, swimming in the waters, and caves were awesome. Halfway, a heavy down pour with thunder and lightening came through for 20 minutes. The rain stopped and the last third of the trip was cliff diving. As our group was finishing up and about to swim back we heard a tremendous noise. It was a flash flood. Our guides quickly got us to higher ground as the torrential rapids with logs and debris came through. We sat in a safe area for almost 4 hours wet, tired, cold, hungry - but safe while it passed. Had the flood arrived one minute later- all 15 of us would have been swept up in the flood. The guides were comforting and kept us calm. Where things go wrong is the ZERO preparation for such problem. There is no cell service. No way outsiders to know anything was wrong. Guides did not have walkie talkies, satellite phone, or contingency plans. So grateful no one was injured, had a heart attacked or diabetic shock. There was no way to get out and get help. For all the years and years of experience the guides had, this was poor planning on their part and could have had very real and very dangerous consequences. The only reason people came to look for us is that serval hours passed after we were supposed to be back. The nature was awesome. This companies safety protocols - minimal. Up until the flood I would not have hesitated to give this a 5 star review, but given the lack of safety protocols or plans I cannot recommend this tour.

My husband and I booked the cave tour and it certainly did not disappoint!!! John was our Tour Guide and he was awesome! John made us feel like family from the time he introduced himself and made us feel completely safe throughout the entire Tour! I have not cliff jumped since my 20’s and he walked me through every step! John is also a history buff and shared so much information and culture with us! It was a fun learning experience! We loved it!

Fantastic experience! This was a private tour led by a true local. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. You definitely need to be fit and have comfortable shoes. He was so gracious in helping my very brave and fit mom navigate the cliffs, and jumping into the water was a once in a lifetime experience. We are SO glad we got the opportunity to see this beautiful part of PR

Our guide, John, was amazing. He made sure we found parking, then that we were safe climbing the cave and especially in the water. He was kind and brought us snacks too. Lots of unexpected adventures, loved it. Strongly recommend John .

Amazing tour and amazing tour guides! John was amazing super sweet! This was the best tour of our vacation 10/10! Definitely need to wear shoes for hiking also light enough to swim in. They provide life jackets snacks and water. Be prepared to get fully wet and bring water proof cases!

Hands down the best experience in Puerto Rico. You cannot go wrong with Jean. He is an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable and never makes you feel like you make it through the hike. Super friendly. If I could give him 100 stars I would. 100% best tour guide.

It was my dream to visit a cave but I couldn’t imagine this! This is definitely MUST SEE trip, one in a lifetime opportunity to swim in a cave in a dark (head flashlight and a safety jackets are provided) and to see two more caves. The trip was organized very well, the tour guy and his assistant are very friendly and knowledgeable and did everything to make this trip enjoyable. As a bonus-you could jump from 30 feet rock (optional, but think about the future to not regret about this opportunity that was not used!), So, I did it! It is a really, really HIDDEN GEM, out of tourists. Go for it! It is definitely worth it in terms of memories you will take with you from this trip. I was lucky to find this tour and can imagine that people will come to this country just to have the same trip as I had. THANK YOU!!!
