This is a very easy way to go searching for the Northern Lights. The office is easy to find, our guide Juliette was very nice and was a safe driver. She took us to 2 spots and we settled at one with a wide open view on a frozen lakeside where we were fortunate to see the Aurora. She shared some insights on how the Auroras are formed and what to look for when tracking them. We had hot chocolate and stood there for about 90 minutes where she took some pictures of each group with the lights overhead in the sky. We are looking forward to getting our pictures emailed and would definitely recommend this trip. Our van had 8 guests so it was a good size group and the seats were comfortable and our trip was warm. A good way to search safely - thanks for a great evening!

Our Gide Nino did his best to succeed our goal!! We have changed 3 locations and auroras were amazing!

I booked this tour as part of a christmas gift to my husband and parents who traveled from the USA. It was their first time in the Arctic region and they had never seen the norther lights before. Atanas was our guide and he led an incredible tour. We received a lot of academic knowledge on how northern lights are formed and what conditions are required for them to be visible. The truth is, due to the magnetic field of the earth and weather conditions, we (humans) really dont have any control of aurora borealis activity and despite clear skies and elimination of light pollution, northern light activity was extremely low. However, Atanas was persistent and was able to make a sighting of a small one that we caught on camera! In spite of the low activity, the views of the night sky, private locations we visited and the campfire/BBQ we had in a traditional Sami tent made this experience very memorable. Additionally, Atanas ensured we received a safe ride back to our AirBNB following the conclusion of our trip since we were staying outside of the city center. I recommend this tour!

Wild about Lapland is a fantastic company and Mark was a great guide. He knew where to drive to best locations, we had a few stops where we experienced the aurora in all its beauty - magical swirls and patterns in pinks and greens - what a magical experience!

We were lucky and had a clear night and the northern lights were active. Stopping in a remote area with no interfering light allowed us the best view. To have a BBQ and hot chocolate as well was a bonus. Viola and Wild About Lapland were fantastic.

We had an incredible small group with people from all over the world with an enthusiastic guide. We drove about an hour east, where there was no light pollution. We had an incredible light show. If we had done a private tour, we would have gone home after we saw the lights, but the best came around 1030 pm. I highly recommend this tour.

The most important thing to remember is that there can never be a guarantee that the Northern Lights will 'perform'. So much depends upon weather conditions as well as solar activity.
There was a very modest amount of Northern Light activity during our excursion but we still enjoyed the trip out into the snow-covered landscape, the welcome snack over a crackling fire and the assistance and commentary of our very knowledgeable guide.

My partner and I had such an amazing night on this tour. Our tour guide Martina was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all things Lapland & northern lights. We had the perfect conditions and felt super lucky to see some really strong auroras. Martina captured some amazing photos too! Would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking.

Do it! Rug up as standing on a frozen lake is super chilly but watching the northern lights dance above you is pure magic!
Angelo was our tour guide and took great care of us. Having a hot chocolate by a fire after seeing the lights was very comforting. Highly recommend doing this tour.

I recently participated in a Northern Lights photography tour with my mother on February 19, and unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations, especially considering the $277 cost for two people.
The main reason we booked the tour was for the photography aspect, but the pictures taken of us were out of focus, with our faces unclear and lacking detail. Additionally, by 10:30 PM (the tour started at 8:00 PM), the photographer's camera battery had died. We later learned she had brought the wrong spare battery, meant for a different camera model, which meant no additional photos could be taken. While she did her best to revive the battery by placing it near a campfire, it was only a temporary fix, and the camera wouldn’t stay on.
The photographer was polite, kind, and attentive throughout the tour. While I don’t blame her for the issues, as she shared with me that she only started this job in November, I do expect the company to properly train and support its staff to ensure they are fully equipped to handle the responsibilities of the job. A well-prepared team is essential for a successful tour, and this was lacking in our case.
To make matters worse, on our way back to the car, the photographer dropped the camera tripod—a large and expensive one—and didn’t even realize it. I found it on my way back to the car and handed it to her, otherwise, it would have been lost.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that we took a total of four Northern Lights tours in Lapland, and all the other photographers were well-prepared, took clear, focused pictures without issue, and did not need to waste significant time moving the camera back and forth to focus before capturing a photo. This only highlighted the lack of preparation on this particular tour.
I have reached out to Kaitlin and the Sales team three times now to address these issues, but I have yet to receive any response. If I do not hear back in next 2 days, I will open a legal case to resolve the matter.
I am attaching the out-of-focus pictures and a copy of the first email I sent them as an attachment, as evidence of my concerns. Given the lack of communication and the poor experience overall, I cannot recommend this tour to anyone seeking a professional photography experience.

On behalf of the Wild About Lapland team, I would like to thank you for choosing us and for being with us on such a great night with a fantastic display of the Northern Lights. On the other hand, we are sorry to hear that the photography aspect did not fully meet your expectations. Based on the investigation and its results, which have been communicated to you by email, your guide took more than 120 photos during the tour, which could have possibly resulted in a lower battery level in the later stages of the tour, especially given the cold conditions in Lapland. Our policy is to always send all the photos from the tour to participants so they can choose from all available options. Unfortunately, the attached pictures are blurry, but the majority (at least 95% of the pictures) meet quality standards.
Regarding the tripod issue, we would like to apologize for the disruption to your experience, and we appreciate your understanding of the situation and your assistance to the guide. We take your feedback and concerns seriously, and we will address them to improve the quality of our services. Additionally, we will strive to optimize our internal investigation processes to improve response times in customer communication for similar cases.
Despite these concerns, we hope that you enjoyed your time in Lapland and that the tour with us was a memorable experience, as you managed to witness a wonderful display of the Northern Lights. We hope those memories will stay with you, and we would love to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Rovaniemi on our tours in the future for more enjoyable experience! The guide was very passionate about the Aurora and he took very good pictures of the individuals in the group. Photos were emailed to us. We laid on reindeer skins on the snow watching the Aurora. Perfect!

Guide was great but company should just let the people know that if it’s a cloudy night we most likely won’t see the northern lights. They even mentioned the night is cloudy and chances are low to see the lights before the tour but said there’s a “chance”. We saw absolutely nothing and drove around for 4 hours. Poor guide but honestly the money is pretty much wasted.

We always aim to be transparent about weather conditions and Northern Lights visibility before our tours. While we did inform the group that the night was cloudy and chances were lower, the reason we proceeded was because there was still a possibility of clear breaks in the clouds - which sometimes allows for sightings even in challenging conditions.
Based on our review of the tour and photography evidence, the Northern Lights were briefly visible at certain moments, although faint due to cloud cover. Unfortunately, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon that we cannot guarantee, but our team always does its best to find the best possible locations to maximize chances of a sighting.
We understand that a long drive without a strong display can feel disappointing, and we truly regret that the conditions were not more favorable for you. However, we want to assure you that our tours are never operated with the intent to mislead guests - we always make real-time decisions based on available weather and solar data to provide the best possible chance to experience the Northern Lights.

It was very cloudy and snowing and couldn’t see the lights . We were taken to one location and spent time around the fire in the tent . Our guide used the time to teach how to make fire and explained about auroras. Rating 3 star as we couldn’t see anything and didn’t wait for longer or try other places. Guide was good and dropped us off at our place.

This is our favorite experience in Finland. I went on December 23 with my husband and 7 year old. Office was within walking distance (5min or less) from our hotel. Evie our guide was great, very nice and made great hot chocolate and Finnish sausage with flatbread (delicious!). She also took great photos of our family. The northern lights did not disappoint, it gave a great performance that night!

We had a great experience going on searching for Northern Lights. Although the weather was very poor, our guide Vince has put a lot of effort to drive us almost 80Kms outside Rovaniemi to gave us a glance of Northern lights.

Regarding the quality of provided photos, we concluded that while the majority of your images were reviewed as sharp and clear, we acknowledge that some may not have fully met your personal standards. We recommend downloading the photos in full resolution, as preview modes can sometimes affect their quality. From our perspective, the photos and procedures used align with our usual high-quality standards.
Regarding your concern about data protection, we want to clarify that our groups are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 8 participants. During your tour, the group consisted of your family of 5 and 2 additional guests. As part of our process, we shared the photos taken during the tour with all participants, allowing everyone to select their favourites. This procedure is communicated to customers in advance. The overall experience was spectacular, everyone was super friendly and just as excited about the tour as us. Our tour guide Tim was great. He was friendly, funny, had a lot of great facts to share, and was just fun to talk to. Definitely recommend this experience to other who are interested. The group size of 9 (guide included) was perfect and I definitely recommend smaller group size over a larger one.

Incredible experience, magical place, starry sky and northern lights. Ugo, the guide, was very kind and detailed in explaining details to us today both about the aurora and the surrounding nativity. The sound of the ice when it vibrates is suggestive!! Oh, and great photos!
