- Operated in Rovaniemi each year from end of November to beginning of April next year (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each activity is 2 adults. Single traveller could join an existing group, or choose to pay for 2 adults' price.
- If there are two person per snowmobile, the driver and passenger could switch during the break of driving. For groups that have an odd number of participants, the single person will sit behind the guide, or share snowmobile with other single person in the same group (if it's possible). Or driving a solo snowmobile by purchasing the 'solo driving'.
- Shared snowmobile means two person share one snowmobile, solo driving means one person drive one snowmobile. Please note that the price is always for per person, not for snowmobiles.
- Snowmobile drivers are responsible for any damages caused to vehicles. Please refer to Sunny Safari indemnity clause for details.
- Children under 140cm will sit in a sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Additionally, we highly recommend that at least one adult sits with young children for safety reasons. A child over 140cm needs to sit on the snowmobile as a passenger behind the driver/guide with an adult's price.
- The Northern Lights is an unpredictable natural phenomenon, there is no guarantee about seeing it. However, our professional experiences and forecasting allow higher chances for sightings. Please wear enough warm clothes and be prepared to stay outdoor for around 2 hours.
- The duration of this activity includes transfer, clothes changing and driving & safety instruction time. Thermal overalls, winter boots, helmets and balaclava will be provided.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

We had a great time! No aurora since it was cloudy but Yuca did his best to get us into a prime spot. At one point the app was showing us in the red and best probability which I had never seen before! However clouds never passed but we still had an amazing time snowmobiling in the Artic Circle and stayed warm with the jumpsuits and gloves they provide. Yuca was an amazing guide, very friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend him and this experience

I’m leaving an honest review because the experience didn’t match what was advertised.
This tour is sold as “Searching Aurora with Snowmobile”, which strongly implies actual aurora chasing — meaning the guides should be monitoring and making decisions based on real conditions such as solar activity and local weather (things like the Kp-index, solar wind, Bz orientation, and cloud coverage).
That did not happen. The reality is that the group went to a pre-designated spot, parked, and waited. There was no real “searching” involved, and honestly, that’s not what aurora hunting is.
On top of that, the weather conditions that night were very poor — heavy clouds and snowfall — making the chances of seeing Northern Lights extremely low. In a case like that, the tour should either be cancelled/rescheduled or clearly repositioned as a snowmobile ride with an aurora possibility (not the main promise). We paid 150 EUR each, and the value just wasn’t there given the conditions and lack of actual chasing.
That said, the snowmobile ride itself was fun, and being out in the forest at night was still a cool experience from an adventure perspective.
Important note: I would not recommend this tour for young kids or anyone with back issues, because the trail is extremely bumpy and can be uncomfortable.
Overall, my main suggestion is simple: rename the tour to reflect what it really is, so expectations match the experience.

We absolutely loved the snowmobile activitie. All the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
We would especially like to highlight Paula’s outstanding attention and kindness. She was always attentive, approachable, and made sure we were enjoying the experience at all times, which really made a difference.
Overall, we would rate this experience 10/10 and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable snowmobile adventure.!!!
Kind regards,
Martin

My husband and I absolutely loved this experience. Huge thank you to Elise and Jesus for being fantastic guides and ensuring we were all safe and having fun. We didn’t see the Aurora (100% cloud cover) but it didn’t spoil the evening at all. Book it. You won’t be disappointed.

Snowmobiles ran well, the pathway we took was quite bumpy but the views were nice and sky was perfectly clear. Although no auroras were seen during the ride, it was a great way to spend the evening.
Although, we got stuck behind someone who wasn't following the rules and the instructions had to keep informing him of rule breaks (he was riding color but trying to film, swerving around instead of staying in line, and slowing down randomly and speeding up a ton to catch up when we got behind).

We wanted to express our gratitude to Sunny Safari for an amazing experience snowmobiling to search for Northern Lights. Sami and Carlos were very friendly and helpful and did a great job in maximizing our time to spot the Northern Lights deep in the woods of Lapland. Highly recommend!

Great evening we have a nice group, it’s was like -12 so definitely wear extra layers of clothes under the suits giving. We only seen like 30 seconds of the northern because of clouds but it was still amazing. Would love to do a day time tour also.

We didn't see the Aurora, which is fine - she's an unpredictable beauty. However, this was the COLDEST EXPERIENCE ON THE PLANET. Granted, it was a very cold February evening (-26deg c) however, even with alllll the cold weather gear on (I'm talking thermals, jumpers, snow coats, overalls, balaclava, salopettes, gloves , snoods, scarves and hats) a grown woman on our trip was crying she was so close to hypothermia. Juice and biscuits were a let down and the "campfire" was laughable.
Snowmobiles were fun, and well maintained. Guides were pleasant.
Are we glad we did it - yes now I can confirm we have all fingers and toes accounted for..
Would we do it again - no.

It was all snowy the day we chose to snowmobile and weren't expecting any northern light show during the activity however our guide didn't give up on any chance and drove us further north where we witnessed the magic of aurora. It was all worth it and would highly recommend this.
The activity was executed in timely fashion - from pick up all the way to drop off, included everything mentioned in the descrption.

It was so much fun and we did get to see the Northern Lights.
We were a little hesitant with the speed, no problems, they had someone hang back a little with us. Perfect

We had a great experience even though we didn’t get to see the lights. Snowmobiling was fun and got some great views of the stars.

My partner and I really enjoyed this trip! The staff were friendly and everything was straightforward and easy! I wouldn’t recommend this for kids and people should be aware that it is a little bit difficult to drive the snowmobiles, and depending where you are in the group you get a different experience, I was near the front and I definitely got to go faster than some others who were in the middle of the pack. It wasn’t a small group, but we still got a little snippet of the lights despite there not being too much activity. Overall I would recommend!

Pick up was 15 minutes later than agreed (19h15 instead of 19h00) and tour was finished at 22h15 instead of 23h00. We stopped once in one location to see the northern lights, we didn’t see them and then we were meant to go to another place to light a fire, but this never happened. Guides were not telling us what was going on during the tour, we had to keep asking. Overall it was not a good experience for us, and the route chosen for the snowmobile was too bumpy and in my opinion not safe.

Please do not choose to go snowmobiling with them. It was one of the worst experience we have had. It was -27 c and we had a 5 year old with is. The colleague told our guide he wasn't sure it was a good idea to take the child in this condition. We were still taken and our child cried the whole way. We asked our guide to help with opening the heat pads he said he could not help and laughed and us to do it ourselves. RUDE terrible guide. To top it up when we asked for help to go back early as our child fingers and toes were turning blue we were told NO as the trip had to go on even if there were two guides. Also the colleague initially said he could help pick us up earlier if needed. Heartless terrible guide and not family friendly at all!!

4 hours on the order. But actually 3 hours.
Really big group.
Helmet of bad quality
Scooter wasn't good. We did a trail before with other company and it was a big difference.
Offer drink and eat at campfire. A smaller campfire doesn't exist. Undrinkable juice and a small cookie.
I am sorry. I really can not say something positive!
A ro big group. Waiting tobmuch and looking to the stars. It is not chasing to places where the northern light could be. It was a small programmed trip
Lujain_A, Dec 2024
I highly highly recommend this activity. The most friendly and cooperative staff. We did not get to see the aurora, however, that did not take away from the experience at all. You spend a long time riding the snowmobile with a break in the middle to warm up around the fire place. The thermals and other accessories they offer keep you very warm while riding. The snowmobiles were easy to use. Thank you Sunny Safari for the amazing experience!

It's very nice tour very well organised and highly recommended
Wwry well explained and safe if you follow rules
Jason_M, Dec 2024
Decided to book this tour because it was a fun way to search for the aurora. Didn’t see any but had an amazing experience with knowledgeable and professional guides.
Tanya_B, Nov 2024
Wonderful experience all around. We did get to see the lights. The guide was fun and the process was easy and efficient.
luca_u, Nov 2024
Great experience if you've never tried it before. Very suggestive frozen lake, unfortunately we didn't see the aurora or even the stars because it was cloudy. The guides are very friendly and punctual.
The biggest flaw is that we were on many snowmobiles and we were going really too slowly, there is no adrenaline from driving.
Dayana_G, Nov 2024
Unique ! Excellent experience, creating good memories with my daughter, and the most important, I kept the promise to my husband to see the northern lights after he passed away last year. Highly recommended! Great Team!
Kazue_T, Mar 2024
We did not quite see the aurora but driving the snowmobile in quiet and dark was quite an experience. Given aurora is not guaranteed, it was nice to have something else to experience.
Selvi_A, Feb 2024
Very nice riding on snowmobile and very caring guide, but sadly we didn’t get the aurora because of the weather
Colin_D, Jan 2024
We managed to see the northern lights thanks to our guide Lukkas from sunny safaris… his experience made the trip worth while, we’ll worth it.
Renee_S, Jan 2024
A wonderful experience made truly more magnificent when the Northern lights appeared. Great guides Lucas's and Sammy.
A fantastic, exciting snow mobile excursion that we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.
Elena_T, Jan 2024
Unfortunately we couldn't see any northern light due to bad weather conditions. Our guide, Sami, offered us the possibility to avoid the campfire to have more time to spend going around trying to catch aurora and this was appreciated.
Maybe if you want to maximise the possibility to see aurora you have to choose a several hours tour by car to be able to move to farer spots. I'm this case with snow mobile we had pre-fixed spots and starting point was near Santa Claus village (and so airport) which causes quite lot of light pollution.
Darren_H, Jan 2024
The experience of riding the snow mobiles makes the adventure worth at least an average rating. Was a bit disappointed with non information about the possible northern lights sighting. Only found at stop that that they hadn’t been seen for a week
Catherine_W, Jan 2024
The guides Carlos and Nadine from Sunny Safari were so incredibly helpful. It was a fantastic experience, highly recommended. As a bonus weather northern lights put on an incredible show for us! Fantastic night!
Joao_S, Nov 2023
Had an amazing time! Our guides (Isadora and Luigi) did a great job, putting us in the right spot to watch the northern lights. We were lucky enough to see it in full display. The snowmobile ride is also a lot of fun, that alone is worth it.
