Our guide, Mark, was very friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Our tour was all encompassing. We learned about the city's history, architecture, politics, religion, geography, and more. Our day was bitter cold so Mark found us places to shelter from the wind while he talked. Dress warmer than you think you'll need to if you do this in the winter!

Mark was so informative & very entertaining. Backwards walking very impressive!!

Elaine_S, Mar 2026
Sensible shoes are a must!!! The walk gives you a very good idea of the old city layout; plus points out foibles you would not have considered (different coloured ground slabs indicating footprints of old long gone buildings)

Great walking tour

Exceptional Walking Tour of Quebec City

Danielle_R, Jan 2026
Our guide, Mark, was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Quebec. They have to take a course of 1000 hours to understand the history of the city and its people.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks so much for your review. I will pass on your comments to Mark. It is true, all guides in Québec City need to take a course and pass exams before they can get their license, although it doesn't add up to 1000 hours! What you will find is our guides are so passionate about their job that they are continually updating their information and readings in order to bring the city's history and culture to you.

Kari_M, Jan 2026
Mark has a deep knowledge and a passion for Québécois. He was candid, funny and provided a great experience even in the extreme cold on the day of our tour (it was around 12F when our tour started); he showed great dedication and took time after the tour had ended to answer additional questions we had. I gained a greater knowledge and understanding of the city and the culture. Overall, this is a great tour to get a nice overview of the area and a short history lesson on how it came to be.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you, Kari! We’re really pleased to hear that your time with Mark offered meaningful insight into Québec City and its culture. His dedication—especially in very cold conditions—and his willingness to keep engaging with guests beyond the scheduled tour are qualities we value greatly. It’s wonderful to know the experience gave you a strong sense of the city’s origins and character. It’s always rewarding to see guests enjoy the experience that earned us Viator’s Award of Excellence.

Lost & Frustrated!

Cathy_N, Dec 2025
The tour was excellent until we were separated from the group and lost them, so we missed out on 4 of the stops in old Quebec, which is what I was most interested in. I was so upset the guide didn’t wait for us.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience, Cathy. We’re truly sorry to hear how upsetting it was to become separated from the group and miss several stops—especially when those were the parts you were most looking forward to. That’s understandably frustrating, and it’s not the experience we want for our guests. Our guides do their best to keep groups together, but your feedback is important and will be shared with the team to help prevent this from happening again. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know, and we hope you’ll consider reaching out to us directly at info@voirquebec.ca so we can better understand what happened and see how we might make things right.

Highly Recommend

Caroline_M, Dec 2025
Louise was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about her city and even taught us somethings about our own country. Not only did she answer all of our questions, but she also provided a list of restaurants and other activities to do while in the city. I hope you’re not staying longer than 4 days in the city, because, in the words of Louise, you’ll be moving there!

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you, Caroline! We’re thrilled you enjoyed your tour with Louise—she has a wonderful way of sharing Québec City’s stories while connecting them to a broader perspective, often with a bit of humor along the way. Too cold for a tour

Vicki_W, Dec 2025
Our guide was delightful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it was so cold that we could not enjoy the tour. Our guide tried to move us along, but at the expense of the information. I would recommend this tour but only in the spring or summer.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Vicki. We’re truly sorry that the cold weather made it difficult to fully enjoy the tour, but we’re glad you found your guide delightful and knowledgeable. In winter, we strongly recommend dressing very warmly, including insulated boots, as being properly equipped makes a big difference in comfort. For extra warmth, we also sell hand and toe warmers at our check-in desk, which last up to five hours—more than enough for the time spent outside. We’d love to welcome you back in another season to experience Québec City in a different (and warmer) light.

Wonderful
