At your appointed time, meet your vessel at the edge of the St. Lawrence River. Climb aboard the Louis Jolliet, named after the French-Canadian explorer. Choose from a range of seating areas, and admire views from the water's edge.
Set off to admire sights including the historic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel, one of Canada’s most storied hotels.
Next, continue just beyond the city to view Montmorency Falls, a thundering 272-foot (83-meter) waterfall that's even higher than Niagara Falls.
Then, continue to the historical island borough of Île d’Orléans, which offers picturesque countryside scenery.
As you go, learn about the history of Québec City, the St. Lawrence River and the aforementioned points of interest from your costumed guide, dressed as Louis Jolliet himself.
A variety of beverages and snacks are available for purchase on board the boat. At the end of the tour, return to your original departure point and disembark the vessel.

- Live commentaries in French and English. An audio guide is available in Italian, Spanish, German, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean
- Cruises operate rain or shine, unless adverse weather conditions pose a safety risk to passengers. In the event of unfavourable weather, there's an enclosed area on the cruise boat
- For personal expenses, only credit card payments are accepted on board (cash not available)

Well worth it - very interesting presentation during boat trip. Everyone very friendly and accommodating.
It was a wonderful way to see Quebec from the St. Lawrence River. Staff was pleasant and professional. Amenities offered something for everyone.
A relaxing way to spend some time.
This hour and a half boat trip is a good way to get your bearings when you are new to Quebec city. The tour announcer had some interesting information about the history of the city. She also knew about certain geological characteristics of the maritime area.

Very Good!
It gets crowded when disembarking, so I thought it would be good to have several disembarking points.

Enjoyed seeing Quebec from the St Lawrence River. Our weather was not great (windy and a bit chilly), but the ride was fun and informative. Good introduction to the area.

Get to the ticket booth and line up early in order to get the best seats. On our tour it was a nice sunny day and we got a table on the prow of the boat. On wet or cool and windy days an inside seat may be more desirable.
The captain was Knowledgeable and spoke well about what we were seeing along with some interesting historical background. Although he did not take questions during his talk, he did walk around to each table to answer questions afterwards. There were drinks and basic snack foods available, at an extra cost, but the trip itself was well worth it.

Great experience you get to have a cocktail cruise the river and see the waterfall. We enjoyed there are seats inside if it is too cold.

The river cruise was great and the host truly was amazing. He knew so much information and made the trip very interesting. A great activity to do when visiting Quebec!

The pace was good and we were able to see it all from our spot on the front outside deck. The announcements were a bit difficult to hear clearly, but were able to make out most of it. Of course it was in French first, then English.

I love the 1.5 hour guided cruise on the St Lawrence. Our guide was excellent. He gave all kinds of great history about Quebec City. He was fluent in multiple languages. They had food, sandwiches and drinks (alcohol and nonalcoholic) you could buy) . The seats were comfortable. I like seating up on the deck. It was a great view especially of the castle and the waterfall.

Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself was lovely and peaceful. The boat has a cafe and offers a lot of food, snacks and refreshments. The hour and a half was just the right amount of time for a tour like this.

This is excellent way to sample the spectrum of Quebec cousine in small samples. I learned some things I would not have ordered were delishous.
Its a food and history tour.
Pamala is excellent, like being guided by a friend who is a local expert.

The boat was a pleasant surprise….decks with tables, eating and drinking options inside with
more tables and plenty of windows. The narration of Quebec’s history was excellent.

The cruise was good and the narration, what we could hear of it, was entertaining and informative. Unfortunately, we sat at the stern of the boat for the first part and the sound system was not good After we moved forward that improved.

This is an amazing experience. We took the 7PM cruise and it was perfect for sunset. Viator was able to reschedule our time from 4pm to 7pm by calling the cruise. Thank you! (Visited 08/21/26)

Large boat with a ton of people. Nice way to spend an hour and a half on the water while having a cocktail. Definitely not a must-do in Quebec.
