They Late for pickup at...

They Late for pickup at hotel then made us wait on the bus for a hour then when we got to the excursion they rushed everything.. Our buggies broke down during the excursion and they hot wired it to restart it. So unsafe.

I would have given this 5 stars, it was such good fun and the 4 of us laughed so much! However, our guide was impatient and we felt like we were to pressured to buy souvenirs from numerous people. Also charged $20 for 4 cokes on the beach, which tasted like they had been refilled with cheap cola.

Buggies need some work but good experience!

When you get there they try to sell you mamajauna (which is honey, red wine,rum) Cocoa, coffee, vanilla. The bottles of mamajuana go up to about $35 so bring some cash if you want buy. They have a very tiny small gift shop at the first stop but there will be opportunities to buy things later so I'd suggest wait till the end of the tour near the cenote to buy so you can negotiate price with the locals. The buggies needed a little work but overall the tour was great. The buggy ahead of us tire blew complete out, than the other buggy in front of us had a flat tire, our buggy was hard to break and stop almost running into the buggy ahead of us. The cenote was beautiful but you definitely need to know how to swim before you jump in. they warn you of that. if you can swim I definitely recommend to jump. The local kids are going to try to give you a flower along the buggy ride so have a dollar for them. Not giving this 5 stars due to the buggies need work and we had to stop multiple times because someones broke down, but you will have fun. I'm pretty fair with my reviews. I'd do it again.

This excursion was horrible. Our transportation was 30 minutes late to pick us up. Once we finally got to the dune buggies, NONE OF THEM WORKED! Absolutely horrible experience.

Hello Keana, we apologize for the issues with the tour. In regards to the pick up, we were able to inform you about the delay as to have you avoid waiting in vain at the resort lobby. Ultimately, the tour is still the same regardless of if there is a delay with the pick up time or not. The shift you went we were sold out and this made it so that there were some issues with the buggies, however we were still able to get you on the tour. You even bought pictures…… Best regards

Pickup from hotel was great! Buggy was a okay experience: first arrived and they had cigars that they give and are free with a tip jar. When there you got souvenirs you can buy with pushy salesman. We jumped on a buggy but it broke down 2 times and everyone had to wait. We arrived to macao beach and chilled there for about 40 minutes while locals tried to sell you items the whole time. Then jump on buggy we went to see the xenote, you arrive in a town like place, people and everyone asking for money. People calling you bad people for not giving money. Kind of sad. Then jump back onto the buggy and head back and they put you back on a bud with several other people to take you back to hotel.

We are sorry you had this experience. Unfortunately the sales people at the beach and the cenote are not arranged by us. This is something that happens with any buggy tour you book unfortunately.

Ultimate “DONE” Buggies

If you want to attend a 45 minute presentation about coffee, mamajuana wine/liquor, honey, cocoa and oils, then ride buggies at 10mhp - this is the perfect excursion for you! After the presentation, there’s a quick buggy ride then walk to beach…with more opportunities to purchase. Hop back in the buggy and ride to the cave and there will be more opportunities to shop. Please DO not wear swim shoes…lots of rocks and walking! Ignore the message that will be sent before the excursion..,.sandals or water shoes. We never received any safety equipment. Each buggy is hot wired to start and my battery had to be replaced mid-ride. This was a high pressured marketing scam.

Hey Kimberly. As mentioned while you were in the tour, the typical Dominican home is part of the activity, the buggy ride is 2 hours long and you received that portion of the tour. In regards to the speed, safety is our main priority. Unfortunately if you want a tour where you are going at breakneck speed in rough terrain, this is not the activity for you. Another couple of your group who booked the tour mentioned that aside from the shopping at the beginning he really enjoyed the tour. Sad to see you were not able to enjoy it.

Unorganized trip

Tour guide left us and went back to check on other people behind us and we were out of sight from our whole group for about 3 min which was scary And earlier some dude came up unhooked our battery and ran away with it

Hey Isaac, we are sorry there were some small issues during the tour. Please keep in mind that you booked a shared tour and that the guide has a whole group of clients to attend, not only yourself (Just your group was 19 people). 3 minutes is hardly a bad service not a demonstration of lack of attendance to your persona. In regards to the comment about the battery, I assume everything was fixed since you were able to finish the tour. Rest assured it might seem chaotic but there is a method to the madness. Not only our clients are doing the buggies, but also other companies have other clients. We hope you can continue to enjoy your vacation.
