On the pictures it looks like a row or area of assorted shops but it's not it's one building in the middle of nowhere and still under construction I thought it was a building site and the prices were nearly as dear as the hotel shop would serve better if had a cafe or bar

The travel mart shop was adequate for a quick trip. Close proximity to our hotel and offered enough time to shop.

It's a very typical trip. It's well organized and you will likely get a different driver for the trip back and each driver would like a tip. They always leave $5 or $10 on the center console as a suggestion. Seems like a lot for the short trip that we took. They put a sticker on your clothing or backpack so the store knows who delivered you because they get a cut of your purchases. That's just the way it works. Turns out we could have gotten a free trip from the Nexus Tours rep at our resort.

When I looked up this shopping trip I honestly thought I was going to a place that support plots of locals selling their trinkets. Instead it felt like a gas station truck stop. We ended up shopping at the resort. Truly a waste of time.

We are very sorry that you didn't like it. In the description of the tour it is well specified that it is a souvenir shop where they sell typical things and Dominican souvenirs. However, it is not a gas station because we do not sell gas, if it is true we have many vans to ensure the customer's transport. Happy day.

Good experience, lovely drivers. Your driver in to the shop and away from the shop may be different. This was a very efficient way to get off property and shop for souvenirs, friendly people, not pushy at all!

Great experience. One big building with various gifts etc. They call it the "Dominican Wlamart" Great prices and no one hassles you to buy. You can shop at your own pace. Easy pick up and they will return you to your hotel when you are ready. Excellent communication. Highly recommend.
