All of the staff involved were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed this excursion so much. It was so much fun. Even our children were dancing and having fun on the boat. We enjoyed massages on the beach on the island.

Tony our tour guide very nice but this was the most unprofessional thing ever referring to the company he works for. Bus broke down had to switch had us out since 5-7am didn't GET to the dock until 11 then had us waiting for an hour next to some dead fish!!!. Boat comes at 12 , life jackets on the floor , they using a dirty mop to clean the seats right in front of us.The experience from there is questionable saona island should be a good and calming time def come just another tour. Nothin about my time was relaxing but I enjoyed myself in a way.

Highway to hell

The bus sent to us broke down in the highway.Tire blew. Our 8am trip brought us to the boat at 11am we left at 730. I have photos of dri ers outside the bus. No air on bus loud music.tour guide spoke Spanish. We rode NO CATAMARAN. that is the reason why I will see refunds when in the states. Jut a large party boat with no offer of drinks. Not even water. I was embarrassed I spoke so highly of this excursion No CATERMAN. I am sure many complaints will win be heard .How do we get a refund???

I had a very good time on the excursion to Saona Island in the Dominican Republic, and I want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible team who hosted us. Out of 30 people, I was the only one who spoke English, but the tour guides went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and included. They consistently checked in with me, ensured I understood everything happening, and offered to translate whenever needed—even though I’m a native New Yorker and can handle Spanglish pretty well! Their attention to detail and genuine care made the experience unforgettable. From start to finish, they made sure I was taken care of, which speaks volumes about their professionalism and hospitality. Unfortunately, I forgot to get all their contact information. If anyone knows how to connect with them—especially on WhatsApp—I’d love to get in touch for future vacations I plan to take with family and friends. Also the photographer who was fully engaged and captured great moments yesterday; if anyone has their contact details, please leave a comment below. Thank you again!!

I would use the company again. The tour leaders looked after us well and made sure we were safe, even in bad weather for traveling. The natural swimming pool and first beach were beautiful. Saona Island wasn’t what we thought it would be. The beach was rough and the bathroom there was disgusting and unusable.

Very scary and unsafe

Was very unusual from the start. Stopped at a gas station, dropped off some of the passengers at at gas station ( Spanish) 7 of us English only passengers left on mini bus. Stopped shortly after and picked up a man who was a little rough looking who was supposed to be our fluently English speaking guide. ( definitely was not) Continued on at a very slow drive with our 4 way flashers on as van was unable to continue due to engine issues. We had to pull over and wait until we were able to continue. Finally arrived at dock (late) as other’s were waiting. Took a small boat out to the catamaran. ( looked nothing like the picture on your site) It was raining at this point, catamaran was very crowded. We asked of life jackets which we felt were not enough for the # of passengers and crew. Thunder, lightning, winds and heavy rain for most of the 1.5 hour trip to the island. No where to go for real cover as the canopy leaked and was held together by ductape. ( if I could upload pictures taken I would) Other people from Peru and other parts of the world were also very scared, saying they just wanted to go back. We finally arrived at the island, had to board another small boat to reach the island. Food provided on the tour was very good. Spent approximately 1.5 hours on the island out of an 11 hour day. A lot of time transferring from one boat to the other. When it was time to leave the island, we had to wait for a larger boat to come as the 2 smaller boats were unable to come in to pick us up due to the waters had because very rough. Unfortunately one of my party was knocked into the water as 2 only staff were trying to board passages as well as hold onto a very heavy, large boat. Thankfully, other than her being totally frightened, sand fulled and bruised she was ok. I could go on and on about how strange, unsafe this excursion was. It should have been cancelled!! It definitely was not an excursion that I would ever recommend to anyone. Unsafe for sure as well as definitely not for us a great experience. I truly believe a total refund should be provided as well as a total investigation into this cruise operator. Please note!! This is not the 1st. Time we have booked with Viator.com, but definitely not sure if we would book or recommend Viator to others. This experience will be forever etched in the 4 of us girls.

We were surprised on the fact that we rode the catamaran all the way to the island and on the way back we were in a cramped speed boat. A little girl pooped herself on the way back, so the ride back was a tad unpleasant. Overall the experience itself was 8/10. Could have given a better bar but you can't win them all. I would definitely do again and recommend to others.

Tropical paradise

Saona island is incredibly beautiful! It is exactly what my mind thinks of when you say “tropical paradise”. Carlos was an amazing host and made sure that I was well taken care of since I was one of the only people on the excursion who didn’t speak Spanish. Bring lots small bills for tips and souvenirs(if you want to buy something). The snorkeling was great, the boat stopped right by a coral reef and I saw plenty of tropical fish, the shallows were equally enjoyable and I found a starfish immediately. Finally onto Saona Island which is just gorgeous. You may want to bring water shoes since there are lots of waves which means there’s stones when you go in the water. They aren’t sharp but uncomfortable on your feet.

Not worth it at all imo. Yes. The beach was beautiful but it was filled with rocks, for at least the first 40 feet of the beach. The natural swimming pool should’ve been the main attraction. The ride/journey to get there took up the majority of the time. Our pickup time was at 7 and we didn’t get to Saona until 12 (counting the stop at the natural swimming pool). Maybe about 6-7 hours commute round trip. The speedboat gave me a headache and the catamaran back was in the blazing sun. Absolutely not. The guides themselves are the only reason this has 2/5 stars. They were so great, but this was it for me

Great Tour!

Very nice Tour! Everything was great! We were picked up from the hotel early and took a speedboat to a sandbar! Then hopped back on for a ride to the beach. After some time on the beach, we got on a catamaran and sailed around the crystal clear waters for a couple hours. It was a great day. Picturesque views and good company. Our guide Carlos a.k.a. Aqua man was a fantastic guide. He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Punta Cana! One thing I would say that needs improvement is the transfer from speedboat to catamaran. That could’ve been a smoother transition. The speedboats weren’t secured to the catamaran very well so every wave made it tricky to get on the catamaran. Besides that, everything else was perfect!

So first thing we were told 715 am would be pock up at our resort lobby. Waited til 745 contacted the number they said they texted us the night before and it got moved to 815 but we had to go outside of our resort gate. So we do as we are told and 845 we finally got on the bus. The bus then stopped at not 1 but 2 gas stations on the way so people could use the bathroom but really so the staff could smoke. Finally we get to the dock and we are loaded onto a catamaran with other people with nowhere to sit. Also no alcoholic beverages. Then we sit in the hot sun for 15 mins until a speedboat comes with yet more people to load on. Finally we get to this natural pool thing 20 mins everyone has to get back out. We finally get to the island we have 2 and a half hours not a full day but 2 and a half hours. There are people walking around selling you stuff. They now have alcoholic beverages the food wasn't bad. We got a 5 min massage for 20 bucks was decent but then they pushed for more. The chairs were hard to come by as the island was full of people. When it was time to go they stuffed as many people into one speedboat as they could. On the way back we stopped at yet another gas station/souvenir store for over a half hr the one tour guide stayed there the other had a few beers. Very unprofessional. We saw jellyfish in the water on the way there but no fish in the water at the island. Kind of disappointing.

Don’t waste your time

I wouldn’t waste your time or money. We got picked up at 7:30 and didn’t even get on the speedboat till nearly 11. For what is a 45 min journey from our hotel. You’re harassed by seller when you get the the port, crammed on a speed boat to Soana Island, not sure what the fuss is about. It’s dirtier and busier than our hotel beach. Lunch was below average and you’re bothered by sellers the whole time. The beach is overcrowded and you’re surrounded by locals who you feel like you’re interrupting their lunch break. You’re there for too long doing nothing. Then on an overcrowded catamaran where there only a small amount of netting to sit on. You’ll then spend 2 1/2 getting back to your hotel after being pestered to buy more stuff. It’s only a full day tour as you spend most of it sat in a car. We did a small snorkelling half day tour and it was a million times better.

Excursion décevante

Une excursion industrialisée. Plusieurs groupes d’environ 50 partagent les mêmes bateaux et catamaran. Par conséquent, beaucoup de retard en attendant de transporter les autres groupes. Le guide ne parle pas bien le français donc si on a des questions il faut demander au photographe.. La nourriture et/ou le café pris sur l’île m’ont fait tomber malade pendant tout le trajet de retour. Je déconseille.
