Upcharge at every corner and time constraints

The buggies rides itself is the only positive out of the excursion. The initial start point presented us with multiple items that was described as a must need a d was not identified in the brochure. Up charge for goggle style sunglasses that were not even needed during the ride. $25 for swim shoes which they said would be required for kids who want to go into the cave pool, but they failed to state the cave pool is 25 feet deep and you would only be allowed to jump in and come back out so other tourists can follow the same program. The initial stop to review how the coffee and chocolate was a waste of time, and filled with people trying to sell everything, there was no time to breath let alone consider purchasing anything before the whistle was blown and we had to leave. The cave pool is certainly not as described in the brochure and with such a small pool, the water should never be identified as fresh water. The beach was beautiful, but as the main area that was designed for lunch the cost of a meal was outrageous and once again, you do not get the time needed to even eat. Again, the actual driving of the buggies was fun, however the entire excursion was a total disappointment.

      Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the buggy ride itself. However, we would like to clarify several important points for future travelers. All additional items offered at the ranch—such as goggles, water shoes, and photos—are optional and not mandatory to participate in the excursion. These are convenience items made available on-site, but no guest is required to purchase them. Safety requirements for children in the cave area are based on ranch guidelines and are communicated to ensure their protection. The visit to the local plantation (coffee, cacao, and products) is part of the scheduled cultural stop included in the itinerary, and guests are free to explore or observe without any obligation to purchase. The Taino cave is a natural cenote, and access is managed in small groups to maintain safety for all participants. The beach stop is designed as a short break to enjoy the scenery, and food or drinks are optional purchases handled directly by the beach vendors, not by our company. While we understand that shared excursions may feel fast-paced for some guests, the tour was operated according to the itinerary and inclusions described at the time of booking. We truly appreciate your feedback and will continue working with our team to ensure the experience is clearly communicated to all visitors.
