We arrange pick up/ drop off for all resorts in the area of Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Bavaro, Uvero Alto, Macao. We pick up from the lobby of the resort at 7:30 AM. Please confirm room number after check in. (Exept hotels: Bahia Principe, Paradisus, Melia, Royalton, Occidental, Majestic, Catalonia, Barcelo . From those hotels we pick up from the main security gate).

Due to the weather the trip was postponed a couple times but the tour guide worked hard to get us out. We had a fantastic morning. Captain Roselo and First mate Andy tried very hard to get fish on but was just not meant to be. We still enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this excursion.

Our experience had nothing to do with the fishing guides or boats. We originally booked two boats for 14 fishermen. We got a message that the waves were very bad that day, and the captain asked if we wanted to cancel our trip. 7 of the guys decided to cancel before we went out. Of the 7 of us that did end up going out, 5 of us were throwing up within an hour or two of going out. We cut the trip short because the waves were too large to fish. We went out and were back to shore within 3 hours, on a 6 hour excursion. We were given a partial refund, which was nice. I'm sure it would've been an awesome experience, had the waves not been so big that day. The captain and the first mate did everything in their power to make the trip as good as it could be. I would 100% take this excursion again and just hope that the ocean is much calmer the next time we did it.

Fishing was slow, only caught 1 mahi mahi in 6 hours... but that's Fishing
guides were very friendly and worked hard all day
we saw 5 whales during our trip also which made the slow Fishing day so much better

Great day with nice and friendly staff. Everything was great. I’ve been doing these trips for years and I’m Flo g to call these people next time in PC. Andy, our First Mate was great. Fishing was slow so he had time to show our son how to rig the bait. Cap was focused and kept trying to find fish. 5 stars all around.

I would recommend this fishing charter. Although the fishing itself was a little slow, our captain Rosario and first mate, Andy did everything in their power to put us on to fish. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and I’d definitely do it again!

Caught 7 Juvenile Dorado (Mahi Mahi over here) & a couple of small Barracuda so that wasn’t too bad a result.
BUT what did annoy me was being about 1/2 hour shy of the 6 hours fishing I paid for. Calculated from the time I stepped on the transfer boat to getting back off it after. Hence I can only rate it as a 3 out of 5.

Our first mate and captain were both amazing. Our first mate was very knowledgeable and educated us on fishing. Fortunately for us the Mahi-Mahi were biting that day and we caught a lot. They filleted one for us and we took it to a local restaurant and they cooked it up for us. We did the 4 hour trip and it was perfect. No sea sickness for us with the sea-bands and Dramamine.

Andy and R were amazing guides!
Andy taught us a lot about the land and some history about DR. The entire experience from pick up to drop off was seamless!
I went with my two teenage boys and apart from a bit of seasickness that came they had an excellent day! I would definitely do this again!

We had an absolutely awesome experience! We booked a private charter for four of us. These guys were top-notch and we felt totally cared for and directed clearly from the moment we were picked up by the driver. Our captain and first mate were awesome. They were very knowledgeable and excelled at making sure we were having a good time. We caught some barracuda and mahi mahi and it was so fun to reel them in! Highly recommend. Our driver was on time to pick us up at the Resort. He was very courteous and professional. When we arrived at the Marina we were advised we would have to wait 15-20 minutes. After approximately 30 minutes our driver came out and told us the boat was broken and we would have to re-schedule or cancel. We didn't have enough time to re-schedule so we had to cancel. Viator immediately sent me an email saying our money would be fully refunded and the driver took us back to the Resort. We didn't get to go fishing which was very disapppointing but everyone was extremely courteous and professional. An excellent experience. We spent 20 minutes talking to our first mate who was very knowledgeable about fishing and the Dominican Republic in general. He was from Ukraine and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversation.

Captain Richard and his first mate Andy were great! Andy is very knowledgable, he explained everything and laid out events of the day in detail. They put us on several nice mahi mahi. The only thing that caught us off guard was how rough the Atlantic seas are. Several of us felt very nauseous from the diesel fumes and rough seas.

From dealing with Viator to make the reservation Yustas to work out details to Juno picking us up, Ange our first mate and Captain Richard keeping us on the fish to Max dropping us off it was professional, courteous and fun. We brought in 7 big Mahi Mahi and a barracuda. Captain Richard was finding the fish and Ange kept us in a position to bring them in. We landed 8 of 11. Will only fish with Sherlock II in Punta Cana. Also Captain Richard filleted some Mahi for us to bring back to our Resort Excellence El Carmen where Chef Robert prepared the Mahi 4 ways for us. It was incredible. He Beat Bobby Flay! Overall great experience.

We have been on this charter twice, and had a good time on both occasions. The hotel pick up is very convenient. While the accommodations on the boat are basic, the service was always good and the crew are knowledgeable and we were fortunate enough to catch fish on both trips. I strongly recommended that you request to have some of your catch cooked up at the local beach front restaurant (for a fee paid to the restaurant). Fresh dorado cooked the same day is exceptionally good eating.

What an incredible day on August 17, 2023! We caught a dozen mahi mahi and a barracuda and lost two more mahi. Andy the deckhand was one of the best I've ever had in probably 20 charter experiences. And Captain Richard put us right on top of the fish. Couldn't find a marlin, but we had an absolute blast reeling in up to 34 inch mahis, with 4 doubles adding to the fun! Can't wait to go back out with these guys again when I'm back in town!

First mate Louie and Captain Richard were very knowledgeable and worked hard to put us on fish. Unfortunately the fish wouldn’t cooperate and we only caught 2 mahi mahi and 3 barracudas. That’s part of fishing though, when the fish were biting they worked hard to ensure we landed them. I would definitely go back.

I highly recommend a day on the water with Big Marlin Charters. This kid from Northern Ontario Canada had a bucket list day on the water in late February 2023. It was my first time fishing in the Dominican Republic and it did not disappoint. I was a solo fisherman for this trip and I found this charter to be a top notch outfit. I joined another charter with a different company later in the week during my stay in Punta Cana and there was absolutely no comparison to Big Marlin in any way. I had also fished 2 other times prior in Costa Rica on the Pacific coast and this day was by far the best for both numbers of fish and quality. I caught 8 mahi mahi and lost a 9th mahi mahi at the boat. I also landed an 80+ inch blue marlin as the last fish of the day. I could not have asked for much better.
The day started with their shuttle picking me up at my hotel at 7:30am sharp. My driver Vladimir was terrific and we had some great conversations on the drive to the marina and back at the end of the day. The Sherlock II was a well maintained vessel and the crew was extremely courteous and professional. Captain Richard put me on fish all day long and First Mate Havi and Second Mate Andrew ran a tight ship. The gear was all well maintained and they worked non-stop to make sure lines were always baited up and in the water at all times. The boat was clean and organized and this made the whole experience that much more pleasant and safe for me. I really enjoyed watching the crew work all day. They seemed to approach their jobs with a military like precision always making sure lines were in the water, leaders were pre-baited and ready to go and the deck safe and clean at all times. The crew was also a joy to chat with all day as we scoured the ocean for more fish. They really put in a 100% effort for me and I appreciated it very much.
Catching a billfish of any kind was a bucket list wish and I understand that catching one at this time of year was lucky for me since the prime season was not for another month or two according to Havi. As we were started to troll back to port in the last half hour of fishing I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t yet see or catch a billfish but it was still a terrific day I would never forget. I was thrilled when I heard Havi yell Blue Marlin and line started screaming off the reel as the fish launched out of the water over and over. Before I knew it I was in the chair battling with my fish of a lifetime and the experience did not disappoint. I can’t wait to return and I hope I get to fish with the same crew. It was my first trip to the Dominican Republic and first charter with Big Marlin but it will not be my last. I highly recommend this charter to anyone serious about a full day of big game fishing in Punta Cana with a professional charter boat and skilled crew. - Michael P, Ontario Canada

We took our 11 year old daughter out on a 4 hour fishing trip. Andy the first mate was very helpful and engaging. Just like any fishing charter fish fish caught are not guaranteed, we did catch one good size Mahi Mahi and one barracuda. Andy filleted the Mahi Mahi for us and we took it back to our hotel and they cooked it for us for dinner that evening. Extra bonus we got to encounter a hump back whale swimming past our boat. I would recommend this experience to anyone..
