I didn't actually go on this excursion. It was a Christmas present for my son, daughter inlaw & grandson. They said the crew couldn't have been more high energy, friendly and helpful. They caught 3 Barracudas and 1 mahi-mahi. They were picked up and dropped off at the resort All on time and all went well.

Sea sick

Great crew, they recommended Dramamine be taken one hour before and after about an hour into it we asked them to turn around due two our two girls were pulking off the side of the boat. Trsnsportstion was arranged for us and we were takem back to our resort Not the crew's fault at all!

Fishing Charter Experience

The trip was for my wife and I. It was a 4 hour fishing trip. Time to be 8:00 to 12:00. We were told to be there by 7:45 and someone would take us to our boat. We were also asked if we needed an English or Spanish speaking mate. We said English. We were there a little early and were told that someone would come and open the gate at 8:00. Other people started to arrive while we were waiting. When we met our mate, he could speak very little English, but not much. We were the last one to get onto our boat, which was about 8:35. I am not a top flight tournament fisherman, but I have owned a boat and fished the North East US canyons for 40 years. My wife has not fished offshore with us at home because of the long days involved. I wanted this 4 hour trip for her to catch a billfish or mahi. The trip was pretty much going straight out, turning around and coming straight back in. At one point I tried to point out to the mate that one of the flat lines was missing the bait. He could not understand what I was saying. After about ten minutes I gave up. After about fifteen minutes he finally brought the line in to check it and saw that there was nothing on it. In all fairness we did catch 3 small barracuda. On the way back in we did have one strong bite that did not come tight. You would think that the captain would circle that area a couple of times, but no, we just kept heading straight in and even picked up speed. The mate never checked the line to see if the bait had been bitten. When he finally cleared the rods, it was clear one line had been bitten. We ended up being the first ones back at 11:55. So we were only on the boat for 3hours and 20 minutes. If you are looking to just get out on the water and maybe get lucky and catch a sailfish, then this trip would be ok.

Really enjoyed this trip from Hotel pick up by Kristina ,through to being met by Yousef Big Marlin charters along with first mate Daniel and Gone dog staff , big shout out to first mate Daniel for tying endless baiting rigs along with several different techniques, sadly no Marlin or Sailfish. Big shout out to the Captain ( name ? ) who was extremely professional navigating through choppy waters, will defo use these again .

Great first time for deep sea fishing

We rented a 4 hour fishing charter from Big Marlin charters and had a fantastic time. Capitan Willie and first mate Eddie were great. It was a little rough water so fishing was tough but Eddie kept changing bait and colours to give us the best chance of catching something. We were not skunked and caught a 15 lb Wahoo which put up a pretty good fight. Thanks to big marlin for a great first time experience.

We both got seasick, but also both caught Mahi. Our first mate was funny, knowledgeable, super hard working, and very understanding and helpful when we got seasick. Even though we went in January and the fishing was just ok we will definitely be booking with them again when in Punta Cana

Nice boat. Really comfortable salon and fly bridge. Ample sized cockpit with a small fighting chair. Captain Miguel and May Vladimir were knowledgeable and friendly and put us on some fish. Great time. Great boat.
