Meet your guide at a central location and discover the luminous charm of Puerto Vallarta after dark. Start your evening food tour with an authentic taste of tacos de cabeza, a sumptuous dish made from an assortment of beef cuts simmered in a spicy chile-infused broth.
Expect five delicious food stops, sampling six to eight different tacos and dishes, depending on your appetite. Some flavors and tacos you might try include arrachera, traditional pastor, cabeza, pork rib tacos, enmolada, tacos dorados, adobada, and more—offering a true taste of local flavors and served on fresh tortillas.
Your tour also includes a stop for handmade ice cream.

Great experience on the after dark taco tour! First time to the area but didn’t know where to go - this was a fantastic way to get out into puerto Vallarta. I brought along my mom in her mid 60s. So much delicious food! The guide Berto was fabulous as well. There was nothing that didn’t taste good! Everything was delicious. Thank you so much for sharing these places with us!

We had a fantastic time with Gustavo! He took us to lots of great taco places we would never have found on our own. We sampled many different kinds of tacos, learned a lot about Mexican food and about the city of Puerto Vallarta and its history. So much fun!

Such a GREAT excursion for foodies! Kevin was our tour guide - and outstanding! He is very knowledgeable about this history of Mexican food, as well as the owners of each stop (and other food carts and restaurants). We visited and tasted-our-way-through 5 local street-food stands/open-air restaurants. It was hard to choose a favorite taco, since each place had its unique food specialty. Our last stop was at a traditional Mexican, homemade "ice cream" shop with an incredible choice of frozen "popsicles", "ice cream bars", or frozen chocolate/decorated chocolate bananas. (The coconut ice bar was phenomenal and not overly sweet.)
We were appreciative that Kevin honored our reservation (for 2), since many cancelled (usually a group of 8-10) due to the recent and brief violence throughout Mexico. OF NOTE, Mexico is quite safe - especially in the areas where there are tourists. We have never felt unsafe, as 2 women traveling separately or together through Mexico.

I always do a food tour of some type at the start of every trip, and this one was an excellent choice! Alberto was such a good guide, and the stops chosen were perfect. A good variety, you learn a lot about Zona Romantica, and you get plenty of bang for your buck. My partner and I revisited a lot of the places we went to on the tour during the remainder of our trip.
It is a lot of food and a decent amount of walking, but isn't that literally what you're signing up for? HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Enjoyable evening tasting local fare and getting to know Puerto Vallarta a little better.
Karla was an excellent guide. She knew all the vendors well and shared lots of regional history.
The Governor’s Taco at the first stop was the best taco of my life! The others were good to great, but that first one was fantastic! As is true on most food tours, we all felt too full by the time we got to the final stop, but that didn’t stop any of us from enjoying an ice cream treat.
Our group of 4 mature adults all agreed this was a fun way to spend an evening and we recommend it to others.

You will be walking through some less than ideal neighborhood conditions at times. They were safe, but filthy. They tried to serve you WAY more food than could be comfortably eaten during the evening. Half the portion sizes would have been great. Good was very good, just way too much.

I have to say, however, after going back and reading your guide's notes from the tour, and seeing you and your wife smiling brightly in all of the tour photos, I am surprised at not only the low rating, but also the harsh, and borderline offensive, remarks made about the neighborhood of Emiliano Zapata.
It is our mission to deliver an authentic and immersive experience beyond that of the confines of beachfront resorts. Though we realize that not all tourists are suited for that, as "filthy" as you may find it, we make no apology for the either the authenticity of the experience, or the neighborhood we call home.

This was a great tour! Our guide had grown up here so shared a lot of personal experiences with Puerto Vallarta downtown! The only downside was walking after dark on very uneven sidewalks. Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Very interesting local food tour of Puerto Vallarta with Kevin , our very informative guide with just 4 of us total because of the low season. Expect a lot walking exercise but your tummy will not regret as long as you don't have restrictions and on the go .

Wow! Gustavo was absolutely fantastic. He was so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. You could sense the pride he feels for PV! I loved every minute of the tour … and oh.. the food was spectacular. Every stop was a delicious and fun experience. Gustavo is THE best and we will see the city with him again for sure!

Our guide, Gustavo, gave us an excellent overview of the variety of tacos in Puerto Vallarta as he led us from family-run stands to sit down restaurants. We sampled 5 different types of tacos (the al pastor were my favorite), frozen paletas for dessert, and drank refreshing agua fresca and horchata.
Gustavo was enthusiastic about the food and its history, but kept everything informal and relaxed. It was an easy walk, and our group was small enough that it felt like we were on a casual evening stroll with friends.
Great value. Highly recommended.
