We had an incredible private tour with Jesús M. of Chichén Itzá, the beautiful city of Valladolid, and a stunning cenote. Jesús was absolutely fantastic — so knowledgeable about history, culture, and local traditions, and he answered all of our (many!) historical questions with patience and enthusiasm.
He was a wonderful guide and driver, always making sure we were comfortable and happy. What really stood out was his ability to customize the tour for us. He even took us to a local food hall where we tried authentic dishes — one of the highlights of the trip!
Jesús speaks excellent English, is easy to travel with, and truly made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting the area and want a professional, fun, and deeply knowledgeable guide, I can’t recommend Jesús highly enough. ★★★★★

Jesus and Alan were good. Jesus was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable. Alan was primarily acting as the chauffeur and drove safely. We were picked up at our resort and did not have to stop at other resorts to pick up other guests. We got to Chichén Itzá early before the multitude of buses arrived and made the park crowded. There were vendors selling souvenirs in the park, who were willing to make deals. In Valladolid, Jesus made suggestion on a restaurant that had good food. We were allowed to explore Valladolid at our own pace. We were allowed to dictate the time we spent in Valladolid and at the cenote. The cenote is on private land and only deals with small groups. We felt like we were actually able to enjoy it, since it wasn’t over crowded.

We had an incredible experience on our private tour with Hisel! From the moment we were picked up from our hotel right on time at 6:00 AM, everything was seamless and enjoyable. Hisel was not only kind and professional, but his knowledge of Chichén Itzá was absolutely impressive.
We loved the flexibility of the private tour—it allowed us to explore at our own pace and truly take in the wonder of the site without feeling rushed. Afterward, Hisel brought us to a beautiful hotel where we had an amazing meal, followed by a visit to a stunning cenote that felt like a hidden gem. Again, we had the freedom to stay as long or as little as we wanted, which made the experience feel so relaxed and personal.
We were back at our hotel by 4:00 PM with plenty of time to enjoy the evening in Cancun. This tour was easily the highlight of our trip, and we can’t thank Hisel enough for creating such a memorable day for us!

Our private tour from Playa del Carmen to Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, and a cenote was absolutely incredible, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Julio. From the moment we were picked up, Julio's passion and deep knowledge of Mayan history and culture were evident. He made every part of the journey engaging, answering all of our questions with enthusiasm and sharing fascinating details that truly enriched our experience.
Chichén Itzá was breathtaking, and having Julio as our guide made it even more special—he brought the ancient city to life with his storytelling and insights. Valladolid was a charming stop, giving us a glimpse into colonial Mexico, and the cenote visit was the perfect refreshing way to end the day.

This was an amazing tour!!! I did this tour on a big bus with friends last year but there were a lot of time suckers involved with that and I didn't really want to take kids on that type of tour - this is the way to go!!! Alan was our driver/guide and was SO knowledgeable - the kids learned so much. Inside Chichen Itza Joel was our guide and went above and beyond to explain things to the kids to keep them interested and engaged. For a 12 hour day it exceeded my expectations - no melt downs from the kids and the your was timed perfectly to keep them moving and interested. I travel a lot and this is one of the best organized tours I've been on. 10/10. Thanks again Alan and Joel you gave my nice and nephew a day they will not forget!!!

Great experience! It was just my wife and I and our very experienced and knowledgeable guide. Chichen Itza is amazing. We were able to spend as much or as little time as we wanted in each location. Private tour was well worth it. Also got to Chichen itza early - before the crowds and the heat.

Jesus excellent guide. Shared lots of great information. Was snow to answer in any interesting way l is ts of unrelated questions. Loved the restaurant in Valladolid. Cenote pool awe nspiring. We changed our plans to book an additional tour with Jesus.

Alan was THE best guide! He was so knowledgeable about everything - history, nature, culture - you name it! He was so friendly and considerate and the communication was awesome! It was so nice to be able to do everything on our timetable and not at the shim of a group. This private tour was worth every penny. Amazing private tour with Mexico Highlights. Great communication from the start. Our tour guide, Eduardo, arrived 15 minutes early to picked us up at a private residence. He was super professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable.
At the start of our drive, he gave us a run down of the activities awaiting for us. He stopped at clean facilities for us to use the restrooms. The stop had a convenience store, restaurant and coffee shop.
First tour stop, Chichen Itzá … absolutely impressive!!
Second stop, Valladolid, a beautiful picturesque town. Eduardo gave us a a tour around town and made us lunch reservations at Meson de Marquez. Per Eduardo’s recommendation, we tried a traditional dish, cochinita pibil (shredded pork) … delicious!
Third & last stopped, a swim at a Cenote. Perfect place to end the tour. Beautiful cave with bright blue waters. Gorgeous!
We highly recommend this Mexico Highlights.

Ulyses was an excellent guide! Very passionate about the rich history of the Mayan culture and people. My friend had visited before but mentioned she learned so much more during our tour with Ulyses. We were also able to experience a near private experience at a non-crowded cenote. Great driver, always felt taken care of and safe. Being able to skip the line and do chichen-itza early was worth it. Thank you Ulyses for an unforgettable day!

Private tour guide Hiisa was THE best. Super knowledgeable and from the area!! The denote he took us to had a rope swing, so much fun. Took us to eat at the most amazing place. A 500 year old home converted into a restaurant. Highly recommended!

The tour was good, and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The description of the tour is a bit misleading, though. They advertise that the entrance to Chichen Itza is included in the fee, but you must pay 548 MXN (per person) for "Taxes" on arrival that is excluded from the booking. The total cost of admission to Chichen Itza is 614 MXN per person for both tickets. They also requested toll money for travel. Look elsewhere for a tour where all the fees are included.

Hands down best tour you could choose. Ask for Julio to be your guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable & answered all of our questions. He was good about giving tips and was very honest with us about all aspects of the visit. The fact that you are able to have someone drive you to and from, and be able to stop where you need to, makes this tour levels above the rest. They provide you with water if you need it, and having a car with cool AC beats sitting in a bus with a bunch of other people. I truly learned so much on this tour, and you can tell that Julio enjoys his job. Make sure to read the full instructions since you’ll need to have some cash handy for some of the toll road fees. Don’t choose anyone else! Take this tour!!

Overall everything was just great. Our guide Joshua is very knowledgeable and is willing to share his unique experiences, including things related to our places of interests and also various actual cultural and socioeconomic environment of Mexico, making even the long drive rewarding. We're able to get to Chichén Itzá before the large tour groups and left before they start to arrive in bulk, and the cenote was just great and beyond our expectations.

We decided to book one day trip while in Playa Del Carmen and are so glad we did. This private tour was totally worth the price. We were picked up at our Airbnb and got an early start out to Chichen Itza. We beat most of the crowds (and for low season, it got full quick!). Eduardo was so knowledgeable and gave us all kinds of history and insight on our trip out. We had a great tour and afterwards visited a local place for traditional Mexican food. It felt like we were part of their family - the place all to ourselves and food was fantastic. From there we visited Valladolid which I was pleasantly happy to see! Very cool town and different from Playa. We were able to stay as long as we wanted and then hit the road for the cenote!! Definitely a highlight and so beautiful. We were the only people there for almost the whole visit. It was really special honestly. I would do it again and highly recommend. Thank you to the Mexican Highlights team!!

Must book this trip! Hisa is the best tour guide we met. He is very knowledgeable on history and local areas and made a lot of recommendation to us. You also enjoy comfortable, customized journey all the time at you own pace. It is indeed more expensive than group tour but it totally worths it!

This was such an amazing experience. I enjoyed the flexibility to spend as much time as we wanted on each part of the adventure and the ability to customize it throughout.
Our driver, Alan, was fantastic. He was a wealth of knowledge taking the time to fill us in on the Mayan culture, history, and traditions. He answered every question we could think of and made sure to point out anything important along the way. He made us feel comfortable and truly has a way with people. This experience would not been the same without him!
Arriving at Chichen Itza just as it was opening was so worth getting up early for. To be able to take in the site with only a handful of people made the experience unforgettable, not to mention the ability to get some amazing pictures without to many people in the frames.
Our guide in Chichen Itza, Joel, was equally as good. We could tell how passionate he was sharing his culture and Mayan history. We enjoyed the use of technology to enhance his tour (much better than the flashcards other tour guides were showing). We also liked that he gave us time to wander on our own after he was finished with the tour.
After meeting back up with Alan, he gave us the option of heading to Vallaloid for food or straight to the Cenote. We opted to head to Vallaloid. He took the time to explain the importance of the town and devastation that took place during the war that took place there. Again, he was a wealth of knowledge. He took us to a restaurant and made sure we knew where he would be when we finished. Much to our surprise he made sure to check in with us numerous times during the meal to make sure we were able to order and that we were well taken care of. It was a level of service that showed how much he cared about making our experience as good as it could possibly be!
After eating, he drove us to the Cenote, X'ux Ha, once again giving us the rich history behind Cenotes and their importance to the Mayans. To say the Cenote was amazing would be an understatement. It was stunning, pristine, and phenomenal! There was only one other small group there at the same time, so it still felt like a private experience.
Overall, this was one of the best tours we have ever experienced. The attention to detail paired with the excellent guides made this an experience we will never forget!

We really enjoyed our tour! Julio was a wonderful guide. He was friendly, informative, and catered our experience to what we were most interested in. I would definitely recommend this tour to others. It was great to have a private air conditioned car, stop for restrooms/etc. when you want, and ESPECIALLY to get to Chichen Itza right as it was opening. It's great to get pictures with nobody in the background and to beat the midday heat. Julio took the best pictures, too!

His background is in anthropology/archaeology so I was blown away at the level of information he knew on the subject. absolutely perfect! our driver Eduardo (10 stars just for him) arrived at our hotel early. we hit the road, made a stop for a snack and bathroom break and arrived at chichen itza. we met our tour guide and were able to see everything before the rush of busses came in. We were off to Vallolidad where we had lunch and it was great. Our driver took us to a monument and shared some history along the way. Finally, we drove 20 minutes to a Cenote where we were two of six people there. clear waters, beautiful views, everything was great. We drove back home accompanied by a versatile playlist and comfortable drive, arriving at about 5PM. Thanks Eduardo, we felt so lucky to have you guide us and take us to and from locations safely and making us laugh along the way.

A must book! Hisa was an incredible tour guide. We had a swift pickup exactly has described. Hisa was super friendly and chatty throughout making us feel extremely comfortable for the whole trip. The tour itself was breathtaking, complimented further by the immense knowledge of Hisa throughout. He was extremely accommodating and made sure we were well looked after, ensuring we didn’t have to wait in any queues. If you’re thinking about going to Chichen Itza, this tour is an essential book!

We booked the private tour to Chichen Itza. We were picked up at our hotel and driven straight to the site without the need to find a taxi or parking. The tour guide showed us around the site and gave us as much additional time we as wanted afterward. We ate a local place at Valladolid that was recommended by Lalo which had the best pork our entire time in Mexico. After lunch, the cenote we visited was absolutely breathtaking, and not crowded at all. All around, fantastic experience!
