Jose is the best!

We had a day long experience with Jose as our guide of the Chichen Itza Ruins. He was very personable and knowledgable of Mayan culture and history. He also had a great sense of humor. We arrived early and were able to beat the crowds and the heat. We had a wonderful Myan buffet and spent time swimming in a beautiful Cenote. We were also given time to shop and enjoy the Mayan city of Valladolid: We had some great sorbet and visited some unique shops. We would highly recomend this Locos Tour especially if you could get Jose as your guide. He treats you like family and makes sure to look out for you!

We had a great time on our tour. Jose was our tour guide and driver. He was very kind and accommodating. He was super knowledgeable about the area and happily answered all our questions. We felt very safe and comfortable throughout our day. Highly recommend!

Jose was awesome! He is so interesting as a person, he is very enthusiastic and passionate about what he does. He is an excellent storyteller and knowledgeable about local Mayan & Mexican history. I loved our conversations in the car between venues. He picked me up from my resort in Cancun to tour the ruins at Chichen Itza. He had a cooler full of water, and on the way he even asked if I wanted to stop for coffee, YES! We made it to the ruins and got some great history and photos. We next went to lunch in Valladolid, he picked out a restaurant to cater to my dietary needs, which is greatly appreciated and thoughtful. After I got to enjoy a cenote experience which was the icing on the cake. He was very safe behind the wheel and I thoroughly can’t recommend Locos tours enough!!

Don't know where to begin. A 100 character review will not do this experience justice. **short review** If you're looking for a FANTASTIC time, GREAT food and an UNFORGETTABLE experience this is your ONE-STOP-SHOP. Jose says he's only been doing this on his own for 6 years, once you speak with him you'll feel like he's been doing this for 100 years. There's literally not a thing he doesn't know or can't do. And if that were the case believe me he will research and surprise you. He's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about is vocation (cuz I can't say its his job, he was BORN for this- buy this tour and you'll know what I mean). **Story time** I'm pretty easy going yet, at times, a little skeptical when I plan trips- I usually travel solo. But this was the first time I planned a trip for a group of 6 completely different personalities, who haven't travelled internationally in a long time and that I have the privilege to call my best friends. So naturally I was a little anxious. Then as I stumbled upon a million tours, Locos Tours popped up and instantly felt like this was the one tour that would satisfy the needs of my diverse group of gals on our 30th birthday trip! Since the minute I booked the tour Jose immediately reached out introducing himself and also offering much needed insight on pre-travel and what other activities he recommends. It felt as if I was speaking to a longtime friend. GODSEND! He was EXTREMELY helpful and is 100% customer-centric. He said he was gonna make me fall in love with Playa del Carmen and just Mayan-Culture in general, and I'm telling you he DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Falling in love is an understatement. You will be completely enamored and OBSESSED once your trip is over. For this particular one we did everything in one day so make sure you start your day early! We tried some AMAZING breakfast tacos (still dreaming about them lol), had morning coffee in the magical town of Valladolid, went straight to Chichen Itza- make sure you pack a good hat, sunscreen and wear light + airy clothing, had a typical mayan lunch where Jose and Esaú surprised us with a birthday cake and sang "Las Mañanitas" (still crying it was so sweet and unexpected) followed by a mayan performance. Next a pit-stop and Mayapan Desitllery, an authentic agave distillery (yes it's tequila but you can't call it tequila bc it's in the Yucatan and not part of the DO of Tequila). Ask for Rosa she was amazing! Then ending the day at one of the most beautiful and breathtaking Cenotes ever!!!! It was MAGICAL! Also, can't forget to mention his trustful side-kick and partner-in-crime Esaú! Both Jose and Esaú made sure we had the time of our lives and made us feel completely safe and taken care-of. Honestly this trip would have not been the same without them. I am extremely grateful for both of them and cannot wait for my next visit. Tips for planning/booking with Locos Tours aka Papacitos Tours hahaha: -Make sure to pack a great sense of humor! -Plan most things in advance and make sure you tell your group to start the days early if you want to enjoy every second of this trip. -Download a playlist you can listen to offline so you can play in the car - make sure you add some reggaeton to the mix- Esaú loves it now and Jose is still warming up to it hahahah. -The way to Esaú's heart: snacks and good coffee!
