Follow your guide through the Old Town, pausing to admire the Church of San Sisto, one of Pisa’s oldest churches, and explore the medieval Piazza dei Cavalieri, home to one of the most famous universities in the world—the Scuola Normale—and the Conte Ugolino Tower, which is featured in Dante’s 'Divine Comedy.' Stop by the one-time home of poet Giacomo Leopardi on the way to Piazza Arcivescovado, then marvel at the grandiose façade of the Palazzo Vescovile.
After taking in the highlights of the city, return to the Leaning Tower where your private guide leaves you and head straight inside using your pre-paid skip-the-line tickets. Climb the 294-step spiral staircase to the top of the 56-meter (183-foot) high tower, from where the views span the entire city.

- The Leaning Tower: Rules and Regulations - The visit lasts about 30 minutes - no extension is allowed. Children under the age of 8 will not be admitted under any circumstances and an adult will have to remain with . Children between 8 and 12 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult and held by the hand at all times. Teenagers between 12 and 18 years of age are allowed on the Tower only if accompanied by a responsible adult. Visiting the Tower requires a considerable amount of physical effort. Please consider that the spiral staircase has about as many as 300 steps. It is strongly recommended that people with heart disorders or individuals suffering from impaired health conditions do not visit the Tower.

First of all, our guide was great and she answered every question and the skip the line to climb the tower was fantastic. My husband tipped her well. However, having said that, our private tour was only 50 minutes and cost almost $300 dollars. Not worth the investment- would instead recommend small group tour and/or just skip the line tickets to climb the tower. So way too expensive for the value received.

Great experience. Didn’t realize there were more buildings on the property, other than the leaning tower. The history is very fascinating. There are lots of great restaurants right up the street that are lovely.

It was a disaster from beginning to end. Sylvia was a bit late but the directions om Viator were wrong which meant I had to go back and forth 3 times before I found her. Thereafter, she was disinterested in the tour. We were running late and spent barely 30 min with her.

First of all, Sylvia was amazing...living in Pisa her whole life enables her to share secrets Inc best pic spots/angles, hx of the town and its evolution/growth, construction of the tower and other important buildings inc Baptistry and Basilica and many other tidbits of info...took us on a great stroll around town...she is easy to understand and was an absolute pleasure to hang out with!

Informative and just the right length. Sylvia was nice and really knowledgeable. She pointed out unique features about the town, cathedral and tower. We also were able to skip the line for our tower access. Lots of steps but you have to do it when in Pisa!

Our guide, Sylvia, was great. From her we learned that Pisa is so much more than The Leaning Tower!
She kept even the attention of my 15 and 17 year old grandsons! She was born in Pisa, her English is fabulous, she was informative without being boring, and added a bit of humor as well. Highly recommend this tour! We did the morning walking tour including lunch.

Had a tough time finding our guide at first, but ultimately got together with her. She was very knowledgeable about all the venues, and she spoke very good English. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, although we thought it was somewhat overpriced despite its being classified as a private tour. Because of the heat and the exertion that would have been required on our parts, we did not take advantage of the tickets for climbing to the top of the Leaning Tower, but that availability would probably have been a drawing point to tourists who were a little less senior than we were!

The guide was easy to find at the designated meeting point and covered so much about the area and history of Pisa.
