Exquisite but Crowded

Be prepared, unless you are first ones in morning, the crowds have now reached the opera. It was actually uncomfortable wading through. Also, crowds made it difficult to hear our private guide.

Worth the trip, just a little long

The Opera is an incredibly beautiful building that should be visited when touring Paris (or see a show if possible). The private tour certainly helped make the visit more enjoyable and worthwhile by learning more details, but it was a little long for our 10 and 12 year old kids, who after about an hour were in tough shape. I’d recommend going 1.5 hours at most with a family and the entire building can be toured in that time.

AN excellent tour for history buffs and architectural aficionados.

The building in MAGNIFICENT and far surpassed my wildest dreams of just how beautiful it is. The focus was on the history of the construction and political environment in which it was build. Little to no discussions of the musical aspects. That was highly disappointing, the guide did not even know the opera that was performed at the opening. No "backstage" visits of behind the stage, dressing rooms, etc. The guide was very entertaining with anecdotes and stories, she answered questions and was a delight herself. I'd say the most disappointing part of the tour was the GHASTLY BILLBOARD that totally obscured the building's front facade. It ruined the entire view of the magnificent edifice.

This was a great place to visit. Our guide was incredibly kind and personable, she did struggle with her English some, but we were able to understand the gist of her remarks. She was very professional. For the meeting spot- and this is a suggestion for the tour company, not the guide. Please find a more specific spot to meet. We stood in the cold, pouring rain to meet our guide. We were early as requested and the indicated spot was next to a metro stop to the side of Palais Garnier. It was tough to locate our guide and tough for her to locate us. Also, we were unable to go inside the auditorium or see the stage this day and I do not understand why. Other than those two comments above, Palais Garnier was stunning and we enjoyed the parts we were able to see.

Beautiful building!!! The information was excellent but the guide didn’t speak English well at all and couldn’t complete her thoughts. She was very kind and helpful. I don’t feel we got our money’s worth when I compare it to other tours we booked with you.

The guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to engage both adults and children ages 15, 13, and 10 for the full 2 hour tour. You will not be disappointed.

I was really disappointed with this tour. This is no reflection on the tour guide herself. She did as good a job as possible. However to walk around with everyone else who paid $30 for 2 tickets while we paid $500 just to get a few extra facts was totally outrageous. We have booked other excisions with Viator that were excellent. Stay away from this one!

I took this tour with friends and our tour guide was wonderful. We went right up to the front of a huge line and were given such special attention. Our tour guide's name I think was Valencia ( I am sorry if this is not correct) She was lovely, informative, and friendly. I highly recommend this tour. Well worth the money! Merci!

Nice tour of an extraordinarily beautiful opera house

We had a very nice and informative tour. Our only minor disappointment was that the auditorium was closed due to a rehearsal that was happening, but that's understandable. Overall, well worth it.
