Absolutely amazing! This was a true cultural experience. We were able to go to a local village and meet the families that lived there. They showed us their way of life and even cooked us a wonderful lunch. Our guide Micheal and Driver Larry went out of there way to make sure we had a good experience. Highly recommend this excursion.
This is a third world country. Roads are bad, toilet facilities are nonexistent, our van was not equipped with a/c. We have been on many excursions like this one so we kinda knew what to expect and it lived up to our expectations. This is NOT for the handicapped. One lady in her wheelchair found that out. Be prepared to be underwhelmed. That said, the guides were adequate. The tour of the village was great! We could have easily spent more time there interacting with the children and adults. One young girl, Ruth, was about our granddaughter’s age and was so full of life. She spoke English quite well as did the other children and adults. My wife showed her pictures of our grandchildren who live in Amsterdam. She was really intrigued and asked many questions about their lives.
The market is to be avoided, dirty and crowded. The historical “drive by” of the first invasion of the Japanese was a sign that was not visible due to overgrowth of small banana trees. Another historical place was nothing more than reading signs and very little time to do that. I read about a third of the signs before we were instructed to return to the van.
Great tour with family operated tour. Very informative and caring people. Highly recommend this tour
We were so disappointed with this local tour. We were picked up in the very nasty van with broken windshield with no AC. They took us to visit the village & the local market. Only spent 2 hours & charging us $80 each. In the tour itinerary description stated the tour is 4 hours and the lunch is included. We confronted the driver and the tour guide, they said that they were told only 2 hours tour & no lunch. We were so disappointed with Viator, how could they contracted with the unreliable local tour agency. This is really bad experience for us.
We met up with the tour company outside the port and were ushered into a filthy van with a broken windscreen and poor air conditioning in stifling heat. We were taken to a remote village about 40 minutes' drive away down pothole-ridden roads, and up a river bed. The village was very interesting to visit, and the people were very friendly, inviting, and eager to share their village lifestyle and culture.
This tour was awesome. The tour operator was great, communication was great, dropped us off at a great local restaurant that was an easy walk to the ship. Just spectacular.
We had been promised an air conditioned vehicle and the vehicle had plenty of air through missing windows and holes in the floor. Good driver and guide were appreciated on the long drive across causeways and up a riverbed. Villagers made us so welcome and children enjoyed speaking English with us. A memorable day for many reasons.

Hi Valerie
My apology for the bus we actually had some machanical issue with our pre arrange bus so we did not have a choose and placed u on a another bus.We will try our best not to make this happen again.
Une tres belle excursion, authentique, de belles rencontres avec les personnes du village et des enfants. Une découverte en pointillé du mode de vie des habitants de cette contrée lointaine dont nous garderons un tres bon souvenir. Un guide attentif, competent et tres gentil
