Dinner is not the word for the food served. It was more like a starter. Or something you get in prison white bread butter and boild shell fish you had to shuck yourself and a single leaf of green.
Advertised as a dinner cruise on a real sailing ship. Well no sails unfurlled just the possibility motorized the whole 3 hours set up on deck bench with a broken table. Sad. The staff were friendly and the fjord was beautiful thats why 2 stars instead of none. Just dont think your going to sail or that your going to eat a real meal.

The vessel is a genuine sailing ship, but the term “sailing ship” describes the type of vessel rather than meaning that the cruise is operated under sail. Our dinner cruise follows a fixed timetable, and the wind conditions in the inner Oslofjord rarely allow reliable operation under sail. Hoisting the sails would also require the deck to be cleared, leaving insufficient space for the tables and benches used during dinner service.
Regarding the meal, the product description and sample menu specify an all-you-can-eat Norwegian “fjord-style” shrimp buffet with Greenland prawns, fresh bread, butter, green salad, dill, mayonnaise and lemon. The prawns are traditionally served shell-on and peeled at the table as part of this Norwegian summer dining tradition. We understand from your review that you expected a prepared, plated dinner, but this is not the meal presented in the product description.
Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. The broken table should, of course, have been addressed, and this will be followed up with the crew.
Thank you for highlighting our friendly staff and the beauty of the Oslofjord. Your feedback shows that we should make it even clearer that “sailing ship” refers to the vessel and does not mean that sails will be hoisted during the cruise.
Do not go- the dinner cruise aboard a sail boat is misleading- they never put up sails- I also confirmed this with a crew member who said they never put up sails for a dinner cruise.
Should have been advertised as a power boat cruise with no shelter from the cold evening wind.
The shrimp for dinner was plentiful but super small by the time you got the head off and the shell and tail you might have a 3/4 inch left. I had to peel 30 shrimp just to get a sandwich.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The vessel is a genuine sailing ship, but sails are never hoisted during our scheduled dinner cruises. The wind conditions in the inner Oslofjord are rarely sufficient to operate a timetable under sail—and doing so with dining passengers would be quite a tall order.
The dinner is a traditional Norwegian shrimp buffet with Greenland prawns: small 80/100 size, flavourful and served shell-on for guests to peel themselves. That is very much part of the experience. Indoor seating is also available. We’re sorry this was not the cruise you expected.

I enjoyed the sights. The dinner was limited and not worth the cost. Only one choice, which I did not like (shrimp) and bread and lettuce. It seemed to be more about drinking than anything else. I enjoyed the music.

What a wonderful three hours, not just cruise the beautiful fjord, but cruise past so many incredible homes asking the shore, some big, but most just small cottages where you see how the lucky Norwegian live! Food was great! My granddaughter went back three times and taught us all how to easily remove the shrimp from the shells. Should be taught, table side, by the crew! The crew was wonderful, getting more drunks for us and the kids! Great time by all!

Boat trip was lovely. Smooth and great scenery. Food was not good. Shrimp was unpleasant and only other item was bread slices from a loaf. Although we are seafood eaters, two of our four guests abstained.

Great fun, although not quite what we expected. There are two boats that go out for this, one is a larger sailing ship with lots of room, and the second was a former fishing trawler that was a bit more cramped and, consequently, a bit more sedate. I would give this a 5-star rating except for the weather which kept us pent up in a small area on tables. I know this is not the fault of the operator, but I wonder why there was such a difference between vessels. The food was all the shrimp, crab and langoustine you could eat along with bread, but in close quarters the do-it-yourself aspects of peeling and cracking was hard to pull off.

We were a bit sceptical of this experience because the reviews are quite varied.
Some highlights below.
Things we enjoyed:
- beautiful classic sailing boat around Oslo
- Seafood was incredibly fresh
- Staff were friendly.
-Blankets provided at no extra cost.
Things that could be improved
-Bread that was served on the table when you arrive as a starter was dry and only comes with aoili instead of butter
-No equipment to get shells of seafood. I ended up with a lot of cuts on my skin from the crab legs - could also do with a bib but understand this isn't sustainable.
- No drinks included - would be nice if at least tap water was included or one alcoholic beverage.
-No description of sights (however this is clear on the advertisement so didn't expect it).
In short, I'd recommend it as it was pleasant but not particularly something I'd go to again.

Nydelig sommerkveld og god temperatur. Vennlig og hjelpsom besetning. Seilskuta var for langt fra land ved seiling vestover og da vi seilte forbi Munch-museet og Operahuset. Savnet engelsk guide som forklarte hva vi så til en hver tid. Tror at det ble lovet engelsk guide. Det var mange turister blant oss vel 20 som seilte denne kvelden. For øvrig, litt lite reker totalt sett. Ellers en fin tur.
