What Hath Cortez Wrought

A friend and I toured the Historic Center of CDMX on Wednesday, October 23. Most memorable was the large demonstration at the Palacio National. Our guide, Hilary, assured us this was a common event. We then walked across Zocalo to the remains of Tenochtitlan as Hilary explained the conquest of the Aztec capital. Later we toured the Catedral Metropolitana of which Hilary explained it's difficult construction. I believe we walked down Independencia visiting a few shops along the way. As I remember, it was mostly a pedestrian street with a uniquely beautiful view of the city. Suffice it to say, Hilary was a great guide with more energy than I had.

Hillary was a fantastic tour guide and gave us the perfect balance of information.

Hilary was the most excellent guide to the Centro-she packed an amazing amount of information into our tour and showed us all the highlights of the neighborhood. Her knowledge of art history was particularly noteworthy-we could have listened to her all day! Highly recommended.
