Itinerary

Begin with pickup at your hotel, and travel to the Palace of Fine Arts, a turn-of-the-century landmark in the heart of Mexico City’s historic district and the home of the Mexican Folkloric Ballet. With elegant Art Deco and Art Nouveau design, the Palace of Fine Arts is a destination in itself: don’t miss the Tiffany glass curtain that portrays Mexican volcanoes and fiestas, or the Aztec and Maya gods that guard the entrance to the theater.

The Mexican Folkloric Ballet weaves ancient traditions with Spanish influences, and bring legends, stories, and history to life on stage. Enjoy a show that’s divided into eight segments with an intermission, accompanied by vibrant live music with distinctive sounds from around the country. Performers use traditional costumes in vivid color, with dozens of dancers sharing the stage at once. At the end of the Folkloric Ballet show, meet the driver for the return trip to your hotel.

Note: The show may also take place at the Castillo de Chapultepec.

Great Show (but Doable on Your Own)

Ballet is definitely worth seeing and this tour takes the stress out of planning but you pay a premium to do so. Face value of our tickets were ~$100 ea, so if you can get the tickets on your own and arrange your own transportation, you will save some money. One other note is the audience behavior is very different than the US. Tons of cameras out, recordings, and talking during the show. Not the tourist fault but definitely hindered the experience.

The ballet was wonderful and our ride was timely and comfortable and waited for us during the show so she was very easy to find afterwards. One major callout here - the tickets are not good - you can’t choose your seats and they were in the second balcony where it was very far from the stage and extremely hot and uncomfortable. I recommend buying tickets directly from the theatre or on Ticketmaster where you can see the seating plan.

I think we were a bit confused by the title of this tour—Private Guided Tour, dont be misled by that name. We thought not only were we being picked up by our host but that we would receive a private tour Belle Fine Arts Theatre, we were just guided to the front door! The most important thing is the Ballet Folklorico is beyond fabulous, we just misunderstood what we were purchasing. Our host was very nice and got us there early enough that we could enjoy a cocktail. We had fabulous seats.

Our header said Private Tour to the Folkloric Ballet, and what we do is have some special places for you to enjoy the show with the best possible view. We pick you up at the door of your hotel and take you to the event and we wait for you to take you back to your hotel. However, in your case and due to the confusion, we sent a tour guide to give you a detailed review of the building and the surroundings. We really hope we have met your expectations.

We signed up for my family of 11 to see the Folkloric Ballet in Bellas Artes at 8:30pm. Then a few days prior, we were told it was at 7pm. Then in the transportation, on our way to Bellas Artes we found out it was moved to be in Chapultepec which is an outdoors venue, in the winter - it was freezing. NOT what I signed up for.

Hello, 20 days before, we have the obligation to inform with sufficient time in advance that the event changes its place of representation (and is out of our control) because if you disagree about doing the activity or not and it cancels, we keep the tickets, and That is why it is important to notify in advance and we did it, they decided to do it and continue with the reservation, we informed that it is outdoors and at the top of the mountain where the Chapultepec Castle is, we were there to assist you and provide a transportation service inside and wait for them outside for their return.

The program was outstanding- a must see in Mexico City. The Palau o belles artes is beautiful while the Tiffany Curtain on the performance stage is breathtaking. Logistics were difficult as the historico district was more or less shut down because of a concert in Zocalo square. We texted and telephoned saying we would walk to the center but that we needed some way of getting our tickets. Disappointed that there was no reply. We did sent photos so the organizer could find us. It worked out.. but mainly due to our initiative. We were happy to receive the tickets because we thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Recommendation please use the app to communicate with the clients.

Terribly disorganized. It was supposed to be indoors at a specific venue and we were supposed to meet at a certain time. By accident we found out from another tourist at the last minute that the time had changed -- and that it would be held at an outdoor venue. It was quite cold and we were not dressed for it. We nearly missed it because of the time snafu, and had a miserable experience under dressed for the outdoors cold.
