Misrepresentation of tour

We booked this tour with Viator and it was represented as a 10 hour tour, to Izamel/Kimblia/Santa Barbara Cenotes. It was NOT, when we realized the error in our trip we advised the guide, who said that tour did not exist. We attended cenotes, which we did enjoy, (had been before) however the main reason for booking was the towns we wanted to see. The guide advised we needed to speak to our booking agent Viator to complain. When we did, they did not seem to care, although they changed the entire tour online, so it did not show the itinerary we booked. Then they told us they would give us $28 usd back…….well that was like a slap in the face, as when they updated the listing they dropped the price!!! So really we got nothing but disappointment, frustration, a lost day of vacation and nothing else. It has also been over a week and no refund!!! I am very disappointed in Viator, and will not use them, nor the parent company again. We were not the only people that got scammed here, there was another lady who was experiencing the same issue……and that was just 1 day and 1 tour……how many others had the same issue?? Shame on you guys! Beware!!

The visit to nearby towns or ruins was previously included as an additional stop due to proximity, but it was not a guaranteed or core part of the itinerary and has since been removed to avoid further confusion. This update was made to ensure that the experience is clearly presented as a cenote-focused tour. We regret if this change was not clearly reflected at the time of your booking. A real agency embarrassment! Shame of you!

A real shame. I booked tour cenotes+ Izamal+ Kimbila for a duration of 10 hours. €62+€25 was charged for admission to the cenotes. The agency in charge didn't even know about the existence of that tour. The result was that only the cenotes were visited. Not only did it happen to me, there was another couple who had fallen into that trap. Both they and I felt conned and also angry, given that the tour interested us in Izamal and Kimbila, if we had known it was cenotes, we would never have gone. In front of the complaints, all they did was return $14. A real SHAME! A lost day and because of that I have left Yucatan without being able to see these two towns. Surely that's what makes me angry the most. Ever!
