Good shopping tour through the market, but not a good street food eating tour.

    Caryn_M, Feb 2025
Luisa was very nice and knowledgeable. She took us to the Museo de la Gastronomia Yucateca which displayed the typical foods used to make traditional dishes. At the back of the Museo they had the under ground cooking pits in operation and we stood and tasted a small sample of the Pork. From there we walked to a market with a stop at a corner to purchase piedras & kibis. Again, we just stood on the busy corner while we tasted these things. We then proceeded to the market and Luisa toured us around the stalls to show us where we could buy the best fruits. We purchased fruit was we went tasting various new things. We never had an opportunity to sit and eat and were very hungry and thirsty and tired by the end. The last stop was at a drink stand where we purchased very large fruit drinks which filled us. It was a very different experience than any other street food tour that I've ever experienced throughout our travels. I did not like having to dig through my purse at each stop to try the fruit that was described, It would have been nice to stop and sit and have a prepared dish of something. We didn't even have an opportunity to have a street taco. Although Luisa was nice, it was just not an experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Dear traveler, thank you so much for your feedback we always try to give the best experience to every traveler and we are sorry that this was not up to your expectations. As mentioned in the tour description this is a private tour that combines history with the local customs that’s why we try not only to show but also to teach , so that people can have a more immersive experience , also as mentioned in the description - every traveler can choose the dishes they wish to try, that is why it is every travelers responsibility to pay for the food they wish to consume, that is how we manage to make this tour so affordable and as a two hour tour we also do not wish to spend a lot of time sitting down, We wish that every travel experience as much as possible in the time that we have, again we thank you for your feedback and we will use it to better ourselves

Awful. Wrong tour,, wrong meet location, guide twenty-five minutes late. Terrible experience, do not recommend.

    Cozy fruit tour

The lady who did this tour gave nice info, but it was not a food tour. We visited the local market and tasted some fruit. We had a maqasita at the end after the small Maya museum. More than 21 euros pp was far too expensive.
