Overview

Discover the wild side of Mendoza on a white-water rafting tour down the Mendoza River. Pick up is only from hotels located in Mendoza city area and Chacras de Coria. If you are staying in an Airbnb or if you didn't select hotel pick up please contact us to coordinate the nearest meeting point. The return time will be selected the same day of the activity. It can be at 15:30hs or 18:00hs and the decision depends on the adventure base.

Itinerary

While Mendoza is best known for its wine, the beautiful region is also a prime playground for adventure seekers. The tour begins with pickup from your Mendoza hotel and a scenic drive through historic vineyards to arrive at the town of Potrerillos. A local restaurant serves as your base camp for the day, complete with bathroom and locker facilities and river views.

Change into a provided neoprene suit designed to keep you comfortable when you get soaked out on the river, and gear up with a helmet, vest and paddle. After a safety orientation and brief training from your guide, hop aboard an inflatable raft and set off to test your mettle on the Mendoza River.

As you travel approximately 8 miles (13 km) down the river, navigate your way through mostly class II rapids (though rising water levels can lead to class III or IV rapids during the summertime). No experience is necessary, as your guide will provide instruction and tips during the ride.

After your triumph over the churning waters, change into dry clothes back at base camp and enjoy an afternoon of leisure time in Potrerillos. Explore the town on your own, or add on an optional adventure activity, such as a zipline tour, trekking, or rappelling. You can also choose to return to Mendoza early (hotel drop-off is not included with this option).

It was a wonderful experience. From communication with the office and the bus driver kept in contact with me before picking me up to All the guides and kayakers all very professional. It was very organized and included a couple english speaker for the ones that needed it. They made sure you had the right gear and knew all the safety precautions and then we had exciting time on the river, great group of people and business. Oh, and the restaurant is a big bonus great food and staff

The activity itself was a fraction underwhelming, approx 30-40 minutes in the water. But over a 7 hour duration. The wait for the transport back is over 2-3 hrs. And in my opinion not necessary. The activity was well organised and all of the staff were lovely. Just underwhelming and I personally don’t think it’s worth the money.

The rafting was amazing! I don't know where to start. The guides were very very knowledge and gave us good instructions to keep all safe. We had a beautiful clear day the river rapids were very strong, I believe a class IV so I was told. On the river our guide was awesome and we had alot of fun and we stayed safe. I will spare you all the details while on the water so you can experience it yourself. We brought our GoPro to capture the whole thing and even bought the souvenir DVD pictures. After the rafting, we relaxed at the base and enjoyed a hearty lunch overlooking the river. I will do this again if I am in Mendoza in the future.

Really fun day! In reality the actual rafting experience was very short - maybe one hour in total. There was a lot of hanging around afterwards, waiting for the bus to take us back to town. But worth it for the rafting experience itself.

One of the highlights of our 21 day Chile/Patagonia/Argentina vacation. The tour group was outstanding including pick up and drop off from hotel, to their home base and making it feel comfortable, to the safety factor they followed for the rafting adventure, having plenty of gear wet suits, helmets, boots, etc to choose from. Although we did not take advantage of it - hiking and zip line was also available. After our raft adventure we enjoyed a very nice lunch cost extra before leaving. Very good food and a nice variety to choose from. I am 72 years old and did it after breaking 5 ribs to months earlier from a fall from a ladder. You can do it to and enjoy a great adventure.

We had a great time on this tour! They picked us up prompty at our hotel and took us to a little oasis in the mountains complete with a restaurant, huge patio, kitchen (with great food) and lounging chairs. We went whitewater rafting in the morning, which was one of the highlights of our trip to Argentina. We then did the ziplining in the afternoon, which had lines that extended over the Mendoza River. Some of the longest I've ever experienced. The guides were professional and helpful and the costs for these excursions was very reasonable compared to their competitors. I highly recommend!
