This tour was amazing! Each winery offered a different experience and we got a well rounded view of what maipu had to offer. Would highly recommend!
Kelly_U, Apr 2026
The guide was wonderful, talented in both Spanish and English, giving more insights to wine country in between each winery in the Maipu region.

It was without doubt the best value wine tour. The vineyards were beautiful and all very different. The olive plantation was a first for me and a great experience. Lots of different varieties. Loved it

I thought a good deal for $35 usd. Interesting to learn about Mendoza wine making and a bit of history.

My friend and I took this tour on March 23, 2026. I liked the fact that each of the wineries were very different, but I don't think any of them were in the top 20% of Maipu wineries in terms of quality. The olive experience was good, but the timing was a bit off due to other tours arriving at the same time - it felt a bit rushed. The tour was given by Caro in both Spanish and English, and my friend and I both noticed the Spanish portion seemed at least twice as long as the English translation, so hopefully we didn't miss out on any interesting details. The reason we chose Viator was because they listed the animus of the wineries (unlike some others I viewed), which was extremely helpful as we didn't want to duplicate similar wineries in Lujan de Cayo the next day.

A fun and easy way to get a taste of the local Mendoza wines, the tour is a good pace with enough time spent in all places. Highly recommended!

The selection of the three wineries was really good in that they all had very different histories and approaches. It was also helpful to understand how Mendoza became the wine centre it is today.

I would not recommend this tour for international travellers who have experienced wine tasting at many places. I would also not recommend for English speakers.
First, there is a LOT of waiting involved in this tour. You wait for the bus to pick you up, you wait at every spot on the tour for the previous tour group to finish and for the guides to be ready for you. That was the most annoying part of the trip.
Second, the guide explains more and better in Spanish, and only speaks English intermittently. I would say the ratio of Spanish to English was 70-30.
Third, the tours themselves are not high quality. They are solving for volume vs experience. There are a LOT of tour operators and people on the tour, and you feel like one of a very large crowd.
I left the tour halfway and took an uber back to the hotel.
I recommend passing on this tour and just arranging a private tour for 1-2 wineries. I also highly recommend Uco Valley instead.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback.
We’re sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that the excursion you joined corresponds to our regular group tour, which is the most affordable option we offer and is designed for travelers looking for a first introduction to Mendoza’s wineries, in a shared and accessible format.
This service is provided in both Spanish and English. On group tours with passengers of different languages, the explanations are given bilingually, and the time dedicated to each language may vary depending on the group composition that day. Additionally, as this is a shared tour, there may be waiting times and a dynamic typical of a higher-volume service.
For travelers with more experience in wine tourism or those seeking a more personalized experience, we offer high-end private tours, with 100% English-speaking service, visits to boutique wineries, more flexible schedules, and a fully exclusive approach, both in Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, at a higher price point.
We would be happy to welcome you again and assist you in organizing an experience better suited to your interests and expectations.
Thank you again for your comments. 🍷✨

I would highly recommend this tour to any wine lover. I really enjoyed the combination of different types of bodegas—from a more modern one to a more traditional and an older one. The cherry on the cake was the olive oil tasting! Thanks to Rocío for the excellent time management throughout the afternoon.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the mix of different wineries and the olive oil tasting—it’s great to hear that the combination made the experience even more special. Thanks for recommending the tour!

We visited an olive grove and three wineries in the Maipu region, so it is quite local and convenient. The olive grove was professional and friendly, providing an interesting experience. Esencia 1870 was also a great little boutique winery with unusual late harvest wines and the winery guide was great. However, the other two wineries were a huge disappointment. Vistandes provided a vastly superior tour for Spanish speakers. While English speakers were standing in the basement without enough glasses and barely enough wine to taste, the Spanish group (smaller or same in size) was upstairs in the tasting room at a table with numerous wines, water and a thorough presentation. We were left in the entry hall and told that we could go outside or upstairs to purchase a glass or bottle. The Spanish group, after the extended tasting was walked over to the bar where the wines were explained again. We all watched while our Cepas guide was nowhere to be found. I and others advised her when she finally showed up. She apologized (I also contacted Cepas immediately), but no resolution was ever made for us and a very similar (although not as bad) situation occurred at the next winery. We waited more than 20 minutes for the Spanish group to finish their expanded experience at both locations. In the end, I would recommend to skip this tour if you are English speaking and take that money to a more appreciative wine shop (we love Wine Up) and do your own tasting. I’d recommend the tour only If you speak enough Spanish to be able to enjoy the experience given to that group.

Thank you so much for your comment and observations, which we will certainly take into account! We've already spoken with the wineries mentioned so they can be on the lookout. We hope to see you again very soon!

If you're not a frequent wine drinker, you must have a good meal before the tour. In a previous review I read that some people were not pleased with the quantity of the wine samples, but I think it is perfect. You get to sample 3-4 wines per winery, by the end of the tour you've had about 3 glasses. We visited a moden winery, an old (traditional) and a not very modern one, they are all different and their processes are different. I learned a lot about wine and wine culture. It is a great experience, you walk through the crops, you get to pick grapes, some of them take you inside old tanks.
The olive farm is a bit different but also very informative and interesting, their samples are also good.
I did this tour with CEPAS tours, great guides, great buses, very punctual and great communication they message you the day before to confirm your attendance and to give you recommendations for the tour, your guide messages again when they are on their way to you.

Our driver Ariel was friendly and full of information about the Mendoza area. We were a little surprised that we were joined by another couple of tours for our wine tasting but it wasn’t too large a crowd as it turned out. After a few glasses of wines, we were all friends!
The wineries were boutique and the wine was especially good. Lunch was outstanding! Highly recommended!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
🍷 Thanks so much for your review!
Great to hear you enjoyed the wineries, the vibe and the whole tasting experience 🍇🥂.
Happy the lunch and the group made the day even better!
Hope to welcome you again for more Mendoza wines.
Jillian_R, Nov 2025
I was more than pleasantly surprised at how awesome this trip was! I figured that for the price, we would be getting some pretty low tier wineries -- but I was happily mistaken!
We saw 2 very different wineries (one organic and one modern), an olive oil factory and a wine museum. The groups were broken up into English and Spanish and the tour guides at each place were great. The tastings were very nice as well - good sizes along with some yummy bites of food as well.
Our tour guide Carol was warm, friendly and gracious. It was a treat all around and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mendoza!
Response from Host, Dec 2025

We’re really happy you enjoyed the mix of wineries and the foodie touches along the way. 🫒🥂
Hope to welcome you back on another adventure in Mendoza! 🌄🚐💛
Graham_D, Nov 2025
The experience was conducted completely in English. It involves visiting three different Bodegas, each with their own history and charm. It was very interesting to learn about the wine making industry in the region and to see the contrast between a boutique winery, a family business and a much more modern operation.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! 🙌🍷
It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed the mix of wineries and the different stories behind each one — that contrast is part of what makes the region so special. ✨
Glad the full English experience felt smooth and engaging too.
Hope to have you back for more Mendoza moments! 🌄🥂

All 3 wineries was unique, all informative and gave the tour in both Spanish and English which was great for us. As our group was a mix. The tour guide and driver were lovely and super accommodating. Bus was clean and new. We left in time and arrived back in Mendoza city without any hassle too. Nothing bad to say. I would recommend. Wines was fantastic too.
