Matera was absolutely stunning and full of so much history.
Our guide was nice but not very outgoing. I felt as though we spent a lot of time walking, with no narrative from her. I felt as though I needed to prompt her for more information too often.

We had Maria as our private French guide. She is excellent, knowledgeable, knows the history of Matera very well.
She even accompanied us with her car for an extra visit outside Matera. I strongly advise her to discover the Matera of old and today.
