Such a wonderful time and our tour guide was SO knowledgeable and kind. When we were at Salines Beach (which was stunning) we were unable to tell the restaurant what we wanted because they only spoke French. Sondra ordered for us :0) She also showed us where the place to wash our feet off after being in the sand. The run distilary was amazing. There was so much information about the process and Sondra told us everything about it and all of the interesting facts about the difference the way the Rum was processed compared to other places. Would highly recommend this excursion! They were also very on point getting us back to our cruise ship on time :)

Never made the tour. They waited for us at the wrong port. Nobody at our port with our name on a placard to meet us. Eventually found out we were listed on another ship at another port. 😡

Our team was indeed present at the indicated port, at the correct meeting point, with a sign bearing your name. To allow you to join us, we even delayed the departure of the excursion by 30 minutes and attempted to contact you numerous times by phone. Despite all our efforts and the time spent searching for you, you had unfortunately moved further into town, making the meeting impossible.
All the necessary information: port, precise location, and times, had been clearly provided at the time of payment to facilitate the meeting. We truly did everything we could to find you, but without success.
We are very sorry that you were unable to participate in this excursion and deeply regret this situation. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on a future visit to Martinique, under better circumstances.

Amazing tour Manuel was an extremely knowledgeable man , and we learnt a lot. He was also making sure everyone was included in the conversations and even bought us some homemade cake by his partner. We had a great time at the distillery and then onto the beach.

Fun tour of Martinique with a knowledge tour guide Sandra. Beautiful rum distillery on very photogenic property. Did not like the public beach. No umbrellas or chairs and we were there for 2 hours. Luckily there were shade trees, no water or trash cans. This could be lots better in a full service beach. If not for the great guide and pretty scenery, I would give it a better rating.

Regarding the lack of beach chairs and umbrellas, we would like to clarify that these amenities are typically available at some restaurants along the beach. This experience was basically exactly as described; generously offering four stars because there were a few things that the traveler should know. Number one is the start time shows 9 AM when in fact it is at 10 AM. Even though they’ll send you a message to tell you it’s 10 AM., the actual booking shows 9 AM which is very confusing. When you are trying to find the meeting point at the port, look for your name on a piece of paper with everybody else’s name that will be hard to see because the wind is blowing hard, which is of course, not the fault of anybody except nature. The rum tasting is exactly that - a scant amount of three different rums to taste, and one spiced rum. Was not clear why our tour guide was the person running our tasting as opposed to one of the people who worked there. It would’ve been nice to have seen more of the distillery as opposed to just standing in their tasting room and looking at the things they wanted to sell you. Some of us are really interested in the type of fermentation, barrels, etc., and to see the process is definitely more engaging. After the tasting, we had an Instagram stop in an area that would be a stretch to say is Instagram worthy. Although very pretty definitely not worth the 15 minutes we stood there. That time could’ve been better allocated to the rum tasting, and hence looking at more of the distillery and also more time on the beach part of this journey. When we finally got to the beach, it did not disappoint as long as you know to turn right, and walk past the chairs and the tables plus the people selling things and make your way down to the prettier sand and the waves as opposed to just the bay that they drop you in. If you’re lucky, you will have an hour and 45 minutes at the beach, which given the lack of amenities or the time it would take to get one is probably the right amount of time. Then it’s back on the small bus/Van we had 16 people in our group and an hour plus drive back to the port. At the end of the day, our guide, Marie, was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the area. We learned a lot about the produce and the horticultural aspects of the area, but if you’re looking for a true beach and rum experience and only that this may not be your tour, you may choose to have a private guide.

Unfortunately, Viator vouchers cannot be updated with this specific detail, so we recommend directing this concern to their support team.Concerning access to the distillery's industrial areas during production hours, safety regulations prohibit visitors from entering these sections. This limitation ensures a safe environment for both guests and staff.The rum tasting portion of our tour is designed as an introduction to various rums; thus, samples are intentionally limited in quantity. We ensure that this aspect is clearly communicated upon arrival.We appreciate your recognition of our guide's knowledgeability and expertise in sharing insights about local produce and horticulture.Lastly, regarding your comments on beach layout: The presence of chairs and vendors on beaches reflects local Caribbean culture and contributes to a vibrant atmosphere enjoyed by many visitors.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The rum tasting is great but we wish we had more time at the beach. We only had an hour at the beach.

Very nice excursion. Our guide Lyly was very interesting, knows the country well and available for our questions. Our Sydney driver is careful and drives responsibly and pleasantly.
However we would have liked to visit the distillery facilities and spend a little more time at Les Salines.

Concernant le temps passé sur les différents sites, la durée totale du tour est de 5 heures, ce qui nous oblige à respecter un planning précis afin de pouvoir couvrir l’ensemble des étapes prévues au programme. C’est pour cette raison qu’il n’est malheureusement pas possible de rester plus longtemps à la distillerie ou aux Salines.
