Everything went just as described in the excursion description. Our guide Jane was so much fun. Her French Creole personality was a perfect match to describe this French island. Our dri era Michele did a good job maneuvering the narrow twisty roads. All the stops were just as advertised. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

This was the only “experience” we took that wasn’t just a beach day. Stephan, our guide, was very informative and fun. We got to see so many interesting parts of Martinique. He took us to a small local spot for an authentic lunch with great rum drinks. This wasn’t included in the tour, but our small group really wanted the full Martinique experience and we sure got it. My only recommendation would be to wear sneakers or sturdy sandals. We climbed to see a waterfall, and it was a little treacherous.

Lots of switchbacks on the North side tour . Beautiful rainforest and falls . Plan on walking through 6” of water crossing a creek to see the falls .

Jane was a great tour guide. She was very patient with all the guests and explained things well. She was kind and even offered to take pictures of the guests. The stops were nice.
The mini-van was very uncomfortable. The AC was not working well. At times the driver would have the AC off and the windows rolled down. We were sweating. I mentioned it to the guide at a stop and she talked to the driver. He put the AC on but it was not working properly. The guide even looked hot and miserable. The passenger in front of me stated he felt sick due to the heat. Passengers in the back were miserable.
Our last stop was to include rum tasting at the beach. We asked and she said the person who packed the cooler forgot to put the rum in. She ended up calling the supervisor and told us she was going to come and give us each a small bottle of liquor. This didn’t happen at the beach. All the passengers agreed they were expecting rum tasting and it was in the description of the tour. Thank goodness there were two tables in the shade for us to sit at. This beach had no other facilities. It was time to leave the beach, Jane told us the person bringing us our small bottle of liquor will meet us at the drop off location.
We had a hot ride back to the cruise ship and Jane told us to wait in the van and she will go get our little bottles of liquor. We had enough of being in the hot van and exited the van. We tipped Jane and went back to our ship.
I contacted Viator and asked for a partial refund. (Not 50% like they requested from the tour company) We were denied a partial refund. I just wanted to be compensated for what was missed in the tour. We were really looking forward to the rum tasting at the beach. Tour description states “transport by air-conditioned mini-van or small bus” and “beach stop with rum tasting”.
I will be back in Martinique in a few days and wanted to do the South Island tour with this company but now I want nothing to do with them.

An air-conditioned vehicle is clearly part of our service commitment, and what you describe does not reflect the standard we aim to provide. We also regret the absence of the bottle of rum at the beach. This was a logistical error, and we understand your disappointment, especially as this moment is meant to be a highlight of the experience. We didn’t feel that this tour was worth the money. Beware that if you sit anywhere near the back of the bus you will not be able to hear the tour guide. Between a lousy microphone system and the noise of the air conditioner you could not hear what she was saying. The best stop was the beach where we were given 45 minutes to swim in the beautiful warm water also treated to a drink of the local rum and some cake

Manuel was an AMAZING TOUR guide. We had an absolutely perfect day in Martinique seeing the Sacre Coeur church, the beautiful rain forest with a stop at a river, the delicious rum at DePaux, seeing a film showing all of the Pitons in Martinique, Saint Pierre, the incredible stop at the sandy beach with yummy cake and a refreshing local beverage. Manuel's energy, curiosity and love of teaching shined through as he shared with us so much about Martinique. He was especially attentive to my elderly parents. We appreciated his thoughtfulness. A highlight of our cruise and HIGHLY recommend!

The tour to the north of Martinique was amazing! The island's landscapes are stunning, from lush rainforests to breathtaking coastlines. The guides were professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. This excursion is absolutely worth it—highly recommended!

No problem meeting guide at the port as she held a sign with passengers names. Our tour had 19 adults, not max 18 as stated. Knowledgeable guide to visit beautiful places stated in the itinerary except rum Distillery. Somehow it was removed after we signed up the tour. No rum tasting on beach, guide said company didn't rum to her :( Overall it was good tour to visit Martinique for the first time

If your booking was made well in advance, it is possible that the distillery visit was removed from the itinerary after your reservation. However, for some time now, the distillery has not been part of our tour offerings.

Tour was OK but not the best I've done. Small waterfall, basically, water running over stones on small path. Nit impressed. The ruins at St. Pierre are OK but again not that impressive.

This was a quick introduction to the northern half of Martinique. Our main interest was the ruins in St. Pierre, the aftermath of the 1902 Mt. Pelee volcano eruption. Unfortunately, we had very little time there. Not enough time to visit the volcano museum, or to get anything to eat. A tour that lasts from early morning until mid-afternoon and doesn't include lunch should really have time built in so participants can get lunch on their own. St. Pierre has plenty of restaurants, which we had no time to explore. Finally we found a food trailer on the beach that was our last stop, and got hamburgers: perfectly fine, but not especially characteristic of local cuisine! Also: the first stop was the one-fifth scale copy of Sacre Coeur cathedral in Paris. That was sad: the church is in very poor physical condition. This isn't in the tour company's control, of course, but I would have been happy to skip this stop in exchange for more time in St. Pierre. One other detail: a visit to the "Gendarme" waterfall was physically challenging, involving steep, slippery steps with few hand rails, and the need to wade through a rocky stream. Our guide gave us full, accurate warnings about this, but it should be spelled out better in the online tour description. All that being said, it was a spectacular sight, worth some physical inconvenience to see -- but only if you're capable. Also, beware: the only rest rooms available were at the cathedral and at St. Pierre. A rest room on the beach where we stopped last was boarded up and unavailable. The local authorities should consider the effect on tourism when desperate visitors have to urinate or defecate on the ground in whatever little clumps of trees they can find. A word about our guide: Claudie was friendly, knowledgeable, and while not a native English speaker she was easy to understand, friendly and helpful. She is an asset to the company! Bottom line: If I was to return, I would much prefer a tour that focused entirely on St. Pierre and the volcano, with much more time in that town.

An overview was promised, an excellent overview provided. Terrific guide. Safe and thoughtful driver. A dirty front windshield prohibited taking pictures. Full windshield cleaning in advance of each tour should be a basic requirement.

Bus was hot and cramped. No leg room. Also we were in the back and there was no window beside our seats. Guide didn't know what she was talking about, many historical errors. She also had a strong accent and was very hard to understand. She also started to talk before everyone was at the site we were visiting. We do NOT recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed our tour of Martinique. Florence, our guide, is very knowledgeable about the island and she did a fantastic job showing us around and telling us about the history of the island. We ran into a bit of rain in the rain forest (recommend a rain jacket and water shoes!) but that didn't stop the fun. We took a short walk to a beautiful waterfall.
The two highlights for us were the tour of Saint-Pierre and the black sand beach. The ruins were very interesting to see and Florence gave us a great explanation of what happened. The beach was a perfect ending to the tour! We highly recommend the tour and we look forward to doing the South tour on our next visit to this beautiful island.

Tour was just okay. Church was interesting but the river and waterfall was blah. Frederick was a good guide but he didn't speak a lot. We had to ask him questions like how many people live in Martinique, what is the main economic activities, etc. While he was able to answer the questions he should have been more forthcoming with facts and stories. This made the bus ride very quiet most of the time. The bus had a problem with a rear tire and the vehicle kept scraping the pavement. It made the tour uncomfortable as we were going through the mountains in a vehicle that was not in good shape. We were promised a replacement vehicle but that didn't happen until the last stop which was the beach.

Regarding the issue with the vehicle, we regret the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, a last-minute repair was required just before the tour. While we believed the vehicle was fit for the journey, the repair did not hold as expected. We did our best to arrange a replacement, which arrived later than we had hoped. However, we want to assure you that at no point was the safety of our passengers compromised, as this is always our top priority.
As for the guide, we appreciate your observations. Frederick is usually well-regarded for his knowledge and enthusiasm, but it seems the unforeseen circumstances may have affected his usual energy during the tour. We will ensure he receives the necessary support and guidance to maintain the high level of service we strive for.

Lots of sites with rain forest waterfalls churches and site of volcanic destruction. Great run distillery and excellent rum tasting. Ending on nice shaded black sand beach with ru punch and cake nice ending. Young lady (can’t remember her name) was pleasant informative and made for a great trio

We had a wonderful day with Manuel! He took us to see the beautiful countryside on our way to St. Pierre, former capital, destroyed by the 1902 eruption of Mt. Pelee.
