The shuttle arrived at the hotel on time, and then we set off to the Ourika valley in the Atlas Mountains. Our guide was a very nice person, we received a lot of information both on the way and on the spot. The environment is simply wonderful, the people are kind, the food was delicious.

Great tour but awful journey

Abel_P, May 2024
Although the tour was great and the views and the hike is recommended the journey there was about 2hours with no AC. We booked an air conditioning vehicle and there was no AC - the driver opened his window but in a 9 seater van, in 30 degrees heat with no air or cooling system the journey there was horrendous

Not worth it to discover the valley

Graldine_D, Apr 2024
Not seen much of Ourika as most of stops are in places where they try to force you buying stuff (pharmacy, house, restaurant) so that in the end you only do a small walk to the waterfall. Also pick up was very messy with 1h waiting for other van.

Good to get out

ClareW, Mar 2024
Good to get out of the city and see the countryside. Nice walk up to see the waterfall- about an hour there and back, and peaceful. The town for lunch is a bit tacky with lots of building (our lunch spot was next to a bulldozer). If you want to get out for one day, High Atlas Mountains is a better option

Thank you, the tour guide...

Thank you, the tour guide Hassan was really lovely, best tour guide ever! I really enjoyed the walk up in the mountains.

Great trip

Really enjoyed this trip. Hassan the guide was a star! Enjoyed the visit to the Co-op - buy your Argan stuff there as cheaper and helps locals more. Enjoyed the walk up to waterfall. Be aware it’s quite steep on way up and down. There is a cafe at top so take money with you. Enjoyed the meal at the restaurant at the end of the path down from the waterfall - 3 courses for 120DH (possible to share)

Trip to Ourika valley

Hilde_W, Aug 2023
The walk was very nice. It was adventurous but we loved it. Our group was not too big so we didn´t have to wait. Unfornately our Guide Hamid didn´t give us any explanation at all . He Just walked with us and afterwards he asked very specific to each person a tip. That wasn´t very professional . We would love to have given a tip if we had any explanation at all.

A great day out.

Dawn_C, May 2023
A great day out. Driver was friendly and picked up the guide on route. Loved the botanist garden, not normally my thing but actually interesting and not forced to buy at all. Setti fatma was beautiful, the hike was great, partially shady for restbite. Lunch was great too with lots of time to relax by the river. The driver was great fun too playing music on the way back. A great day out. I hiked in Birkenstocks and was easy and comfy, others wore trainers.

Great day trip!

Our tour guide was amazing. Allowed lots of time for photos and made sure we were well looked after. He provided lots of interesting information along the way

Trip to the waterfalls

John_B, Oct 2022
Our guide made the trip memorable. he was knowledgeable., very friendly and helpful. In particular he took care of the older participants on the hike up to the waterfalls, which was strenuous and possibly risky. There was a good mix of sights and activities. Top marks to Hassan, our guide that day.

A wonderful experience!

Great tour! The guide did a great job of explaining everything we were seeing and make sure everyone was safe. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We have a wonderful day.

Great day out

Adam_P, Jul 2022
Had a lovely day out, only surprise we found was the many unexpected stops along the way. We had an extended stop at a botanist/Aragon oil producer as well as a Berber village. The Hike itself was a bit shorter than expected only lasting for just over an hour but the lunch at the restaurant next to the river was lovely. Hassan was a friendly, informative guide.

Wonderful day in Ourika Valley

Fantastic excurion

Beena_A, Jun 2022
It was a nice scenic drive. The guide was very helpful. The visit to the cooperative was good. The hike to the waterfall was a little difficult but well worth the trip.

Perfect day in Ourika Valley

Great day in Setti Fatma and Ourika Valley. Very pleasant driver and guide. Nice hike to the waterfalls too...

A very relaxing day trip from Marrakech!

Christian_J, Dec 2021
The very comfortable Mercedes passenger van arrived in time at 0900 in front of our hotel. Everything was relaxed as our party of three were the only guests. Hassan, our guide, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and didn’t rush us in any way. We really enjoyed the visit to the women’s cooperative argan oil shop, where we learned how argan oil was handmade. The highlight was the 1-2 hour hike up to the waterfalls in Setti Fadma. The hike is moderately challenging in some places but anyone with a decent level of physical fitness can make the full climb. The views are gorgeous. We finished the day with a relaxing lunch next to the Ourika River. We returned to the hotel at 1600.

Lovely day trip into the mountains!

Rob_C, Feb 2020
We had a lovely experience on this day trip. Pick up was prompt and both our driver and guide were friendly and welcoming throughout. The highlight was definitely the hike up to see the waterfalls. Although a little strenuous at times, it was well worth it. We also quite enjoyed the visit to the argan oil collective.

Good day trip

A Great Day out

dorh230, Oct 2019
We really enjoyed this day trip to the mountains. The collection was prompt and all the timings were accurate. Our first stop was at an Argon oil Cooperative, which was actually much more interesting than we had expected. We arrived at the start of the climb to the waterfall and followed Hassan our guide. The climb was fairly steep, and we were older than the rest of the group by decades, but Hassan was always there to give us a helping hand, literally, and we made it up to the waterfall, and the view was well worth the climb. We came down a different route to the river where we were taken to a restaurant by the river. Some of the tables and chairs were actually in the water so you could eat with your feet in the river. The waiters wore wellies! After lunch we were taken to a typical Berber house. We arrived back in Marrakech and were dropped near our Riad. We had a really interesting day, thanks really to Hassan.

Good trip enjoyable day for good price

ChloeW677, Apr 2019
Picked up promptly from the old town to be dropped off to meet the rest of the group. Small group of 8 of us. Trip the the argon factory was nice and informative and the chance to buy there. Then onto the waterfalls and had a separate guide who was very good and helpful for making sure we stayed safe at all times and together. Plenty of photo ops and stops on way. The journey down is easier then up. Then onto lunch. You wil;l be asked to tip your guide and we did as ours was helpful and very good. They will show you to a restaurant where you can have one cours for 90 DH or three course for 120. If you refuse there are other places further down where you can bartar for a one course for 60 DH. After lunch on to a berber house which we hadn't wanted to go to. They again will ask for money but we didn't as we had wanted to book a trip that didn't go to the Berber house and we didn't find it particularly informative. Then about a hour and half drive back. Total day was 9am-5.30pm when we were dropped off near our Riad. This trip is really good value for money and we saw a lot and did a lot for it. Completly up to you if you want to buy anything or take own lunch, etc but well worth what you pay for it.

Great day trip

Hasan was a great guide, very knowledgeable. We were in a small group and stopped at an Argan Oil co-operative on the way - no pressure to buy. Ourika Valley and the mountain hike was great - need to be in good physical shape for some parts. Amazing views. Lunch was a set price menu - more expensive than you’d usually pay - 120 dirhams each. Stopped briefly at a Berber house on the way back. Great day out and nice to be away from the busyness of Marrakech for a while.

Great tour! We stopped for an optional panoramic camel photo, stopped for tea and bread at a Berber house, and again at an argan oil cooperative. The prices at the cooperative were more expensive than in Marrakech but we preferred to buy here and support local villages. The hike was really great, you do have to go over rocks and water so do bring walking boots or comfortable trainers saw some people trying to do this in flip-flops!!!!. Keep in mind you are at a higher altitude so it is colder than Marrakech. Our guide in the mountains was great and spoke English very well, and we tipped him a small amount. Before heading back we stopped at a restaurant where there is a menu for 120 dirhams, more expensive than in Marrakech, however keep in mind that you can order separate items without getting the full menu which means you can pay around 60-90 per person, and the food was very good.

Our Ourika Valley experience was great! Our pick-up was nice and easy and our driver very funny and friendly! You get to walk through the mountain, you have quite a few stops for pictures, you will see a waterfall, be able to shop, etc. It has a little bit of everything to make a perfect day trip! Beautiful scenery.

The trip was great as well as our guide. With shared tours the thing to worry about the most are the people you share the tour with. One couple were expert hikers and came with walking poles and hiking gear. They kept rushing the slower solo lady n the tour and my wife, who were scared of some of the climbs we had to do. They wanted to venture way past the falls on n optional tour which has a lot of climbing and walking on some rugged terrain. So be prepared for a lot of walking and wear good shoes as well flip-flops are not recommended in my opinion. There are many beautiful pictures to take especially by the stream as well as by the waterfalls. I did not get to see as much as I wanted because the expert hikers took the optional tour I went with them and we agreed to meet with our driver at the bottom where we started where my wife and the solo lady were. We took the optional tour which was not as grand as the waterfalls really. However, our guide on this tour was mainly speaking in Italian and when he finished his tour he told the experts something and they told me we had to walk to the car and meet our guide. Got to the car and he was not there. So they wanted to simply go to a restaurant to eat because they were hungry and did not want to wait. I said I would stay by the van to make sure I don't miss the others and have them walking all over looking for us. Maybe 30 minutes later the guide and others do show up by the car and they were waiting for us where they said they would. I tell this story because I have had issues much like this on a lot of shared tours other grown adult couples don't meet when and where agreed and it causes others to lose tour time. So make sure it's agreed where to meet and what time and a CLOSE backup place to go to possible eat/wait if not there. Its no way to make things 100, but it helps save time.....I have had to wait an hour on many trips because others did not come back on time and then the tour guide has to go look for them while others lose time doing nothing,

Very nice and comfortable car. I was a bit disappointed that the actual tour at the waterfall was not included when the price was 50. The tour was 50 MAD and the lunch was 100 MAD, so fairly insignificant sums to add on, but this could have been included in the original price.

Nasir_N, May 2017
The Tour was great. We got picked up from our hotel in a mini bus with a small group and headed towards Ourika Valley. The Driver makes a stop at a shop to take photos of the atlas mountains on the roof top. From there we drove for 45 minutes or so towards the valley. The trip is scenic with water and mountains on both sides. On the way there, they make a stop at a Argan oil and spice shop, where they show you how its made. They say you don't have to buy anything and I definitely wouldn't because you can get all the stuff for a much cheaper in the Madina, but they dont force anything upon you. 20 minute stop. From there they continue heading towards the valley. Once we reached our stop, we began our hike up the mountain. It is a 1.5 hour hike, so be PREPARED! wear comfortable shoes and pack light. the hike is definitely worth it and breath taking! Just be very careful with each step as it is quite risky. I would keep a close eye on children! Not recommended for the unfit. once you come back down from the mountain and waterfall, there is a stop at a lunch spot The Tour Guides Buddy of course. The prices are over-priced and they give you amenu with 3 course meal 120 dh, 12USD. Keep in mind there is another menu, where you do not have to order all the 3 items, they just wont show you it. If you do not want to each lunch, you have no choice but to wait for other group members to finish 1 hour wait On the way back there is a stop at a berber house, they show you how they live, pretty interesting. Got back around 4 o clock. Overall trip was 7 hours long.

The trip was fine, well organized...

Brett_G, Dec 2016
The trip was fine, well organized collection of passengers and drop-offs to the hotel. I would have preferred to travel more directly to the falls, not stopping at another Argon oil cooperative, and artisan shops. These products are available far cheaper in every supermarket. The Berber village stop was interesting, although I feel the tour company should make a payment to the hosts, not expect an additional payment to be made from all the visitors. Despite this being a small amount of money it was not something we'd planned to spend additionally and didn't have much small change. We had no options on where we were to eat our lunch and were presented with a very expensive in Moroccan terms fixed menu. I would have preferred either to have time in the village to choose our own restaurant, or at least have choice of food and prices. The falls were lovely, although it should eb made clear that walking to the top of these is difficult, some rock scrambling and areas of climbing involved. Not suitable for everyone and in places a little scary for those who don't like height.
