Terribly disappointed when the Tour operator backed out of picking us at the our hotel

Booked the tour two months in advance and confirmed pick up and drop off at our hotel. Day of tour the operator informed us that he would not pick us up as our hotel was not in the Medina. Of course, we had no idea where that location was, as we depended on the two months prior booking to rely upon being picked up at our hotel. 1* because the tour operator at least communicated with us!

I’m truly sorry to hear that you felt disappointed, and I would like to respectfully clarify what happened, for transparency and for future guests. Immediately after your booking, and again one day before the tour, I contacted you to confirm the details, in line with the tour information and cancellation policy. Unfortunately, I did not receive a reply to these messages. This experience is clearly described as a walking tour inside the Medina, where cars are not allowed, and all visits are done on foot. For this reason, as stated in the tour inclusions/exclusions, pickup is only provided for riads located inside the Medina. When guests stay outside the Medina, we normally arrange a clear meeting point in the Medina. Your hotel is located outside the Medina, which means a short drive is always needed to reach the walking area of the tour. This is not something that can be avoided, as the Medina (Old town) is not accessible by car. On the morning of the tour, when I was finally able to reach you by phone, you informed me that your wife is unable to do walking tours and that you had difficulty with a similar experience in the past in other countries. I then offered several alternative solutions so you wouldn’t miss the experience. At the end of our conversation, you told me it was okay and that you preferred not to proceed with the tour. I always do my best to communicate clearly and assist my guests. I’m genuinely sorry that this experience did not meet your expectations. However, this appears to be a misunderstanding of the tour description, as the experience provided was consistent with what is outlined. I wish you all the best for the rest of your travels. A wonderful experience from start to finish. We travels to Morocco on a group tour but pealed away from the group and booked a private guide. We moved effortlessly throughout the Medina and were able to spend time shopping at our leisure. The Medina gets quite crowded and the passages are narrow which would make a group tour unbearable. This is the way to go!

My tour guide was very accommodating and adjusted the tour per my request. Even though the lines were long, he was able to bypass the lines to get my tickets. He was also willing to adjust the tour per my requests and interests and I appreciate the accommodations.

I think seeing the Palace with all the beautiful decorations on the walls and ceilings. Our guide Mouloud was very good and had an encyclopaedic knowledge about all the history. He also went at our pace, which is not very fast!
