If you are seeking safe transportation to Essaouira, this would be a viable choice. I would not consider this a tour.

Advertised as 9-10 hrs; took over 12 hrs. Driver did not highway on way back, extending return time. Plan for the rest of the day consequently got messed up. Vehicle very compact, tight seating (hardly any leg space, seat belt so tight-very uncomfortable). Driving was quite rough. Visit to the Argan oil cooperative should be made optional for travellers. Essaouira is very nice city.

This trips team wasn’t very professional. They showed up 30 minutes late and failed to communicate the delay ahead of my reaching out to them. They had extended rest breaks that made a 2hr 30mim trip 4 hours long, and ushered us in a van with a broken door that would open on the highway. The trip reports it should be resolved within 9-10 hours, but it took 13 given the excessive smoke breaks and light traffic. With this tour, only 4 hours was spent in Essaouira. I’d recommend using a different method.

A few points from our side: The vehicle used on this departure was fully operational and the van door was working correctly. Safety is our priority and we would not operate a vehicle with a faulty door. The delay was caused by heavy traffic and extended travel time on the route, which was beyond our control. Our team did everything possible to keep the trip moving and to minimise delays. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the longer journey and any frustration from the reduced time in Essaouira. We’ll review the route planning and driver briefings to try to avoid similar issues in the future.

Great tour option

Great tour option for getting to Essaouria. Pick up starts around 7:30am and you get back around 8pm. You spend around 4 hours there which feels like plenty of time. This includes 2 bathroom/snack tops on the drive. They make a stop at a argon oil workshop which I don’t think many people were interested in, but it only takes about 20 minutes & I’m sure it’s helpful for the ladies putting it on. Communication on pickup was easy. My road was too tight into the Medina so I just had to walk about 5 minutes to their pickup spot. My guides name was Norte. Friendly guy.

Breathtaking city

Essaouria is a place where you go.to forget about everything and juat enjoy life. 5 hours there where like a athousand years an 2 seconds at the same time. It really is the pearl of Morroco. Refreshing Essaouira

Essaouira is beautiful and refreshing. I find it more pleasant to shop here - not as big as Marrakech and he sales people are more subdued. The views at the Rempart of Mogador are spectacular! Visitors should try the Fish Burger joint there - one of the best non-traditional Moroccan meals we had. Our guide, Abdul, speaks slow but clear English (I actually appreciated it); it is nice that he gave a history of Essaouira. The vehicle was comfortable and clean and our driver, Ismail, drives safely.

1) Essaouira is a great place and thoroughly enjoyed it - would rate it 5 stars 2) The guide was good - friendly and knowledgeable. Would rate him 4 stars 3) The arrangements were not to our liking at all. The minivan in which we travelled was very cramped , I am not a tall person but had great difficulty in sitting through. Seat was in the last row - extremely uncomfortable for a fairly long trip. Struggled through the journey . Also not much proactive communication by the operator before the trip (unlike some of the other trips we did through Viator) - had to reach out and inquire on my own multiple times and pickup was delayed . Overall rating - 3 stars. My recommendation to the operator before- pl provide more spacious seating arrangement - and if that is a limitation , do not fill the seats to capacity (especially for the last rows ).

Beautiful day trip - a must!

The entire trip went without a hitch. Mohammad, our tour guide was professional, friendly and charming. Our driver brought us to our destination and back home safely. The van was clean and roomy enough for the few hrs of transportations each direction. I appreciated that we had hours of free time to roam around and discover this beautiful and ancient city at our own pace. It’s the perfect day trip near the ocean, something different to experience while based in Marrakech.

I loved this tour. The Essouaria Medina is way nicer than Marrakesh- so light and open and not claustrophobic. I also spent some time by the beach where there is a public bathroom. The shopping was great in the Medina and sellers didn’t hassle you as much like in Marrakesh. I’d like to go back one day to spend more time. This is not a guided tour but a drop off service. The five hours we had to walk around on our own was plenty of time. We don’t see any goats in argan trees. The stop at the argan oil cooperative was informative. Thanks to the driver for getting us there and back safely. My only suggestion would be for the driver to introduce himself to everyone and to let people know the itinerary again even though it is listed in the posting for the tour.

Aziz, our guide, was awesome. He speaks several languages which was helpful on our tour. Aziz was very informative, kind and patient. Essouira is beautiful and right on the ocean. A lot of markets and places to eat, have a coffee. Along the waterfront many lovely restaurants as well. As a solo traveler I felt like our free time of 4 hours was too long. I would recommend this trip!!

We had a lovely trip to the sea side town. Walid, our guide was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. We stopped at the Argan oil women's co operative on the way. Lots of free time in Essaouira. The fish market in the port is quite smelly and makes one feel sick.The quiant markets are lovely to see and shop. Bargain hard everywhere, including juice and coffee shops! Remember to take cash, cards are not accepted in most shops.
