We had a lovely day on this tour. Ismail was a great guide, very friendly and helpful. We began by taking a camel ride in the Agafay Desert, then we went to an Argan oil cooperative where we had a taste of the products they sell. After this we toured the mountains and had lunch at the family house of Ismail. It was really interesting to meet the family and cats. Plus the view and food were amazing. We then took a hike to a waterfall which was very pretty. The hike it should be noted is not great if you have trouble walking. There are little hills and rocks. After this it was back to Marrakech. A very insightful tour and we learned a lot about the Atlas Mountains, Berbers and Morocco.

Enjoyable Trip Outside Marrakesh

Agata_M, Feb 2026
This was a well-organised excursion outside of Marrakesh. We received a text message the evening before confirming the pickup point. Although the van was not modern or air-conditioned, it was tolerable with the windows open. Our driver, Badr, was polite, approachable, and attentive throughout the day. The schedule ran smoothly and according to plan. The itinerary included a camel ride, breakfast at a Berber house with an optional shop visit (no pressure to purchase), and a hike. The hike was the least engaging part, as the route was not particularly scenic and seemed designed mainly to reach a waterfall via uneven paths. The views of the mountain peaks covered in snow were exceptional and could be experienced most of the time. It was though enough to tire us out. By that stage, we were very ready for the meal. The final stop was Imlil village, where we enjoyed an authentic Moroccan tajine that was exceptional in both flavour and quality. The taste and memory of it will stay with us forever! Overall, the excursion offered good value for money and is recommended.

Great day and beautiful views

We had a great day and really appreciated getting to see the beautiful landscape and countryside. The lunch was the best tagine we had during our trip. Thank you to our guide Youssef!

A superb day out in the high Atlas Mountains

Matthew_E, Jan 2026
The most fantastic trip! Highly recommended and great value for money. Youssef was really friendly and knowledgeable and an amazing guide, providing just the right amount of information. The trek was superb (but worth wearing walking boots rather than trainers). We hiked between 5 villages and saw two waterfalls. We had an amazing lunch in the village that Youssef is from - our best tagine so far! The camel ride was good fun and in nice surroundings. Our driver Mohammed was brilliant as well and we felt safe at all times. We were with a small group (12 in total) all of whom were great company. All in all a wonderful day out.

Great experience exploring Atlas Mountains!

Maaz_U, Dec 2025
Youssef was an amazing tour guide. He explained all of the history, the details, the story throughout our day long adventure. Amidst any hurdle, he was quick to overcome obstacles and ensure our safety / peace of mind. When it comes to travel and tour guides in a different country, safety is a primary concern and Youssef ensured that we felt secure at all times. Would definitely recommend this service!

Highly Recommended - Couple visiting

Joseph_S, Dec 2025
Youssef was our tour guide and did an incredible job. He grew up & lives in the area we visited and added so much insight to the region. I very much enjoyed the conversation and candor throughout the day. The tour itself is great, the Atlas Mountains are beautiful and seeing these little villages nestled in them is quite something to experience. The lunch we had in the village was delicious and is one of my favorites we had on the entire trip. There was a little hike mixed in, easy one, perfect to break up some of the driving. We ended with the desert, each one I find has its own unique view and vibe. Agafay is no exception, we found it stunning, certainly unique and we were fortunate to get sweeping views along the way. The trip also takes you thru an Argan oil coop and camel ride, both of which are quintessential touristy but it was quite fun to lean into it - and hey, we were on a tour after all 😀 The best by far was the company of Youssef, our companions on the tour, and the scenery while learning about the region and life in the villages.

A wonderful day learning the Berber culture, with our fabulous host Youssef, we got to experience sights, sounds and culinary delights that we would have never got without booking this trip, thank you!

An unforgettable experience!

Harigovind_V, Nov 2025
We had an absolutely amazing time on this tour, and the credit goes entirely to our guide, Yousseff. From start to finish, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained everything with real passion and made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable and included. His timing was perfect, the itinerary was well organised, and he had a great sense of humour that kept the whole experience enjoyable. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does. Thanks to him, we learned so much, saw incredible places, and never felt rushed. I would highly recommend this tour — and especially Yousseff — to anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free experience. Truly five stars! 🌟

Tiffany_W, Oct 2025
We had an incredible experience with guide Mohammed Larbi guide and driver Yousf. It was a small group of 6, so we were able to take the hike up the mountain at our own pace. Though much has changed with the increase in tourism in the last 25 years, appreciate the glimpse into what daily life is like in the village. Incredible hospitality. Felt peaceful eating traditional tagine in the remote mountains. Was a long day, about 9.5 hours, but was fun to finish with a 15min camel ride in the desert.

Amazing, Informative

Faz_T, Aug 2025
Our day trip to the Atlas Mountains was one of the highlights of our time in Morocco! From start to finish, everything was beautifully organised and gave us a perfect glimpse into the local culture and the stunning natural landscape. The dromedary ride was a fun and a peaceful way to start the day. Definitely visit on a Tuesday or Saturday if you can, so you can see the local market and also support local business in the area. The tajine tasted great! The walk to the waterfall is suitable for children (6+) but younger children may need some support. The views along the way to the waterfall was brilliant. Thank you Ismail for being a great guide and sharing your local knowledge!

Genuine, authentic and beyond high expectations

Thomas_J, Jul 2025
We've done a few well reviewed tours from Viator and similar, and this is definitely one of the best. Our guide, Ismail, was fantastic, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Our group was small (7 people) and we were in a very comfortable air conditioned minibus. The places we visited were, in comparison to some tours we have done, comparatively less like classic tourist traps! The camel ride was lovely and surprisingly comfortable, learning about argan oil production was fascinating and visiting a very real, unsanitised, souk was a sensory experience I will remember for a long time to come. And as a particular highlight, Ismail showed us to his own family home for lunch, who I suspect gave us a much more authentic meal than many higher end restaurants would have. Strongly recommended.

Atlas Mountain adventure

Aileen_M, Jun 2025
The guide, Ismail, was fantastic! He kept the vibe of the group light and was knowledgeable about the area. I think he knows every villager in that hike! Genuinely friendly. He kept to the schedule but did not rush us either. Hike was fabulous; the lunch at the Berber village was delicious. It was worth every penny and the trip was well worth it. Know that parts of the Medina is impossible to get to with a car so they try to pick you up at the closest area accessible by car.

Just ok

alejandra_p, Jun 2025
The tour is just ok, if you have limited time I would recommend doing something else. The places you visit are not very ínteresting, the agafay deset is not very beatiful, you get the camel ride which is great but the scenery is not that good. The little hike in the mountain is very average, I didn't see anything Special. The berber Village has NOTHING to see, I think this could be improved if the guide could explain more about the history and the culture, he gave some basic explanations but I didn't learn much. Thw only good thing was the lunch (included) it was very tasty! The guide was really kind too but as I said he could share more interesting things!

Best Marrakech Tour

A well distributed full day and great tour with Ibrahim. The tour guide Ibrahim is extremely knowledgeable and transforms the experience

A must do!

Kyle_C, Mar 2025
We had a wonderful experience and day out with Hamza. He was prompt in getting us from our pick up point and with great enthusiasm! The scenic drive from central Marrakesh to the Atlas Mountains was amazing, with many different opportunities and stops to take photos. The Argan oil cooperative was great to see and gave an opportunity to buy some products from the source! Imlil valley in the high Atlas Mountains is where we had our hike/walk (quite strenuous at points but was a great experience). And to top it off, traditional tagine lunch surrounded by the snow topped mountains was a great end to the day. Would definitely recommend.

Good day tour from Marrakesh

Jingim, Mar 2025
Very happy we did this tour. It was a good educational experience for our kids (13 & 11) , who really enjoyed it. Camel ride is what you'd expect. The co-op visit was quite interesting. The waterfall was good, but the real attraction of that stop was the tangine, which was delicious. I found the historical info on the Berber people which the guide provided throughout the tour to be highlight.

Not bad

ArturoS, Mar 2025
The tour was very complete, you see the desert and the Mountains. Very beutyful landscape and everything worrhy to see. But you spend more than one hour picking up other People. And they mixed us, used to sports, with elderly, and we had to climb the Mountain at their rithym, which was very Boring for the children. The meal, very Bad.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of the desert and the mountains. We understand the frustration about the pickup time. Since your hotel was more than 30 minutes from Marrakech and pickup wasn’t included, we made an exception to accommodate you without any extra charge. Regarding the group mix, we try to organize participants based on activity level, but sometimes it’s challenging to separate everyone perfectly. We’ll work on improving this to make the experience more enjoyable for all guests. As for the meal, we’re surprised to hear this since many of our guests have described it as one of the best they’ve had in Marrakech. That said, we value your opinion and will review this with our team to ensure consistency. We hope to have the chance to provide you with an even better experience next time.

Alice_C, Mar 2025
The tour was very well planned. Hamza was such a great informative and knowledgeable guide. Started off the morning with a camel ride which was so much fun. We then headed to the Atlas Mountains towards Imlil Valley. The views were absolutely mind-blowing! I will say the hike can be a bit challenging and requires a certain level of fitness. We ended the trip hiking to Hamza's family village at the top of the mountain and stopped for an amazing lunch. We had the best chicken tagine and couscous of our entire trip! Would rate this tour 10/10. Thank you Hamza for such a fantastic experience!

It's a must see! Beautiful place with some hiking to the waterfalls and a camel ride. Our tour guide treated us to his mother's home cooked tangine. Highly recommend this tour.

This was the absolute perfect day trip from Marrakech! Ismail is a wonderful guide. His knowledge of the region and its people and culture made this experience even better. He kept everyone on the tour involved and made this a very fun trip. And of course, the views were amazing, as well as the food. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone. So much fun!

Fantastic. Above and beyond!

NITHIMA_H, Feb 2025
Fantastic. Above and beyond expectation. Ismail and his driver were amazing, knowledgeable, attentive, funny and energetic yong lads. Camel (literally dromedary) ridibg was a great experience. All the stops worth every second. Highlight was the hiking, best excursion I ever got from Viator. Lovely home-cooked meal at ismail’s family home with an outdoor view was a bonus. Didnt expect that. The food , chicken& couscous were delicious. Top tips : - Argan oil from the local shop is amazing. I ve already used with my hair. - hiking bit was the highlight, emsure you wear proper shoes & outfit as it could be cold& slippery. It was our most favourite excursion , from the beginning to the end. Cant recommend enough !
