This was a very professional service. Abdul, our driver picked us up from our Airbnb at exactly prescribed time of 4 PM. We were taken in a clean minivan to the desert, which is one hour from the plaza in Marrakesh. Upon arrival, we were greeted by warm Moroccan mint tea and loaded onto camels. The camels walk us through the beautiful desert for nearly an hour with perfectly timed views of the sunset. The camel guide was very generous and took multiple pictures. After sunset, we were escorted back to the base camp, where the driver for waiting for us and we reached Marrakesh back at 8 PM. Each and every person involved in this tour was very courteous, timely and professional. Would highly recommend for families.

Honest tour operator

My husband and I did not receive the private camel ride that was advertised. There was really nothing our driver, Walid, could do since he is not the tour operator. I notified Morocco Desert Trips via WhatsApp after the camel ride was over that we had not received the experience that we had paid for. The person I spoke with, Mr. Said, responded promptly and apologized. I told him I thought I should be partially reimbursed (a private camel ride is much more expensive than the group tour). He responded by asking me how much I thought I should be refunded. I stated the amount and he agreed. Walid hand delivered the MADs to our hotel the next day. Honestly, I was surprised. I have a lot of respect for the tour operator to acknowledge we did not receive what we paid for and refund some of our money. I don't really know how the mixup took place but I would definitely use them again. At the very least, they are honest and respectful toward their customers.

We had a wonderful excursion to the Afgay desert with Yassin. Not only did we get to partake in a private Camel ride at sunset but also had the opportunity to stop off mid journey to a house where Argan oil is made (very natural and even got to help turn the nuts to press the oil). I would recommend this booking and we were lucky to have such a great guide - Yassin - who made the trip extra special. Highly recommend !

We had a great experience and we’re so glad we booked with this company over the other others. We were picked up promptly at the agreed-upon time and we were brought to the desert after about 45 minute drive from the city. We offroaded for about 30 minutes into the desert far from the other tourist groups and that set this tour apart from the rest. Me and my husband got to experience about an hour long camel ride just the two of us with our guide who took awesome pictures for us and made sure that we were happy the whole way. The driver, Siad, was extremely personable and warm and we had a great time over tea at the end of the Camel ride, talking politics and exchanging cultural notes. I highly recommend this trip if you don’t want to be in a larger group and want a personalized experience. worth every penny.

Authentic Camel Ride and Desert Experience; Best in the Region

Easily my most favorite experience of my trip. Thankful to Said for helping me coordinate and Walid for serving as my pickup/dropoff driver and guide for the journey. This experience takes place near the Atlas Mountains, about 30 minutes past the airport and probably a 45 minute to 1 hour drive from the Palmeraie and/or Medina. The journey out lets you see a little more of real-life Marrakesh (especially when you pass the airport), which is extremely vibrant and energetic. When you get closer to the site, you'll be in a more rural and peaceful environment. There you can appreciate the natural beauty of Morocco, where there are olive and orange tree groves as well as smaller villages. You may even stop at a locally run Argan oil shop where they produce several products include locally sourced Argan oils and creams as well as (who knew) locally sourced peanut butter. The road into the mountains is populated with several camel/ATV/dinner tourist sites, but the site on this tour is far more unique. It takes about 20 minutes off the main road to get to the tour, which takes place on a hilltop and is run by a local villager who lives not more than 5 minutes away from the site. His camels are well taken care of (he seems to be able to communicate with them in a way so that they understood each other; it was very interesting to watch). He prepared tea and snacks/cake for me on the spot. Unlike the other tourist sites on the way which were much closer together and commercialized, this was an authentic site. It was deeper in the hills, and you could really appreciate the sereness of landscape. The villager took me on top of one hill and captured several pictures of me on camelback. Then we went to another hill and timed perfectly the moonrise and sunset. I don't know if I was lucky or if every experience is like this, but it was perfect. I was able to video the sunset over 3 minutes where the sun was completely present to completely disappearing behind a mountaintop. Even Abshel my camel seemed to be pleased with the timing. Best part of the whole thing was when I found out at the end of the day, the villager goes back home and the camels walk themselves back to his place where he cares for them and they rest. The overall camel ride experience was somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour, and I wouldn't have traded it for the world. Supporting a local villager made me feel even better about it, and the experience of the sunset was second to none. Although we didn't speak the same language we seemed to be able communicate just fine for the excursion. Highly recommend!

Desert fun

This was the perfect Agafay excursion. I was looking for something straight forward without a lot of extra stops, dinner, etc. The company had very good communication via WhatsApp. We were picked up on time by our driver, Hicham. He was courteous, knowledgeable and kind. He drove us from the Medina to the Agafay for a lovely cup of mint tea and an hour long camel ride at sunset. Everyone was so polite and the facilities were clean. The camels seemed well cared for and it was a simple, well-run excursion. We were a group of 5 people and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Must-Do Experience in the Agafay Desert

We were picked up by our Riad and drove out to the desert, stopping at many beautiful scenic locations along the way for photos. Rode on the camels for about 1 hour 15 mins, which was such an amazing way to see the desert. Returned to the camp afterwards and ate traditional cookies and sipped mint tea as we watched the sunset over the Agafay Desert. A big shout-out to our incredible driver and tour guide Abdul who made it an unforgettable experience!

Amazing first time experience

Best camel I’ve been on. It was my first but it was the best 😃 The tour organiser Said was very helpful and provided the pick-up details promptly and was checking with us throughout her day if everything is ok. The star of the day was our guide Abdo who was absolutely amazing. He was very well spoken, educated and knowledgeable man who made the whole experience that much better. The short journey to the camel ride site felt like a nice guided tour into Marrakesh’s history which we very much enjoyed. The site where we met the camel guide was a picturesque setting outside Marrakesh with amazing views of the Atlas mounting and so quiet and peaceful. Mohamed the camel guide was very entertaining and helpful and took lots of photos and videos for us. The ride was long enough get a feeling of what a camel ride is like and also not too long so you get sea sick from the rocking motion of the camel walking 😁 When we come back to Marrakesh I would definitely be booking again with the same company and I will specifically request that Abdo is our tour guide.

This was such a wonderful excursion. Hicham, our driver and coordinator, was so warm, intelligent and professional. We got wonderful photos. The camels were docile and easy to ride. The amount of time was perfect. According to the women in the group, they recommend not wearing too tight of pants! The Tuareg clothing made the experience and photos extra special. Getting on a camel and into the desert is a must when coming to Morocco.

Said was such a friendly and passionate guide! He will tell you everything about the authentic Morocco - its people, culture, etc.. Our group really enjoyed his stories and knowledge. Said was very hospitable, being flexible with our pick up and drop off locations, as well as respectful of the timing. We definitely recommend taking this tour with Said - he brought us to a more private area, off the beaten path, where we could really appreciate the landscape and support the local families.

Mijn man en ik hebben deze tour gedaan. Het was erg bijzonder en een prachtige ervaring. Vanaf Marrakech een uurtje rijden in een luxe auto met onze leuke chauffeur Kamal. Na thee en koekjes in de berbertent stapten we op onze kamelen voor de tocht van ongeveer een uur door het prachtige woestijn landschap, het was geweldig en zo rustgevend. Onze gids heeft veel foto's van ons gemaakt, ook van zonsondergang. Ik zou het iedereen aanbevelen.
