Overview

Head out into the desert for a sunset camel ride with this tour from Marrakesh. Your driver will pick you up at your hotel or riad and take you out to the desert, where you'll spend an hour riding a gentle camel across the sands. You'll then make a stop for a cup of hot mint tea as you watch the setting sun before returning to Marrakech.

We were picked up by Ali who was a fantastic driver and host and chatted to us on all manner of subjects on the way to the Agafay desert. The drive was about an hour from our hotel. It was a very organised trip and we were guided to our camels almost immediately upon arrival. Both my husband and I were taken around the desert on our own, but there were other people that were taken in groups. The ride was about an hour and it was very tranquil and calm being out in the desert as the sun was setting. Arriving back to base camp we had some tea and then was driven back by Ali to our hotel. A lovely late afternoon trip that I highly recommend.

Nice title, but didn’t quite meet expectations

It was fine, but they bind you in a caravan, and Camel has limited mobility, power lines in the background too, and we booked sunset, but sun was high in the sky.

What a memorable experience to share with my family. Viator we’re fantastic as a woman travelling alone with two young teenagers they were more than happy to collect us from our hotel to reduce the stress of either missing the meeting time or getting harassed.

We jumped on a SUV which picked us at the agreed location early that day and we were taken to the Desert. On the way there the guide (who’s name I can’t remember) shared interesting facts about Morocco and specially about his Berber Heritage. He was very kind, funny and knowledgeable. He could speak more than 5 languages. At the desert we arrived at this nomad/ small community like camping where the camels are kept. Nomad clothes were provided and then we jumped on the camels. At the beginning it felt they were not very well tamed but the journey was safe and quiet chill. After the 1h camel ride, we enjoyed a traditional mint tea at the camping where you can engage with the Berbere People and take pictures. I highly recommend this activity, one of the highest points of our time in Marrakech!
