My experience was really great. We traveled through the High Atlas Mountains - so beautiful. Our driver/guide Mehdi was great. Very talkative and entertaining. Made a lot of jokes, told us alot about the history of Marrakech and Morocco, and was accommodating with our group. Would recommend. On day 1, we took many breaks to see the landscapes and to be able to take photos. We ended the day at a hotel. The hotel was ok - we had our own room. Don't have big expectations. I would recommend the company to go for another hotel since this hotel was NOT the cleanest. The staff on the other hand were great. On day 2, we got on our way to the desert and to see the sand dunes. What a view! It was very impressive. We visited Ait Ben Haddou - where they shot many movies and TV shows including Game of Thrones. After that we walked to the desert and went on a camel ride. Loved it. We took a break at the top of the sand dunes and watched the sunset. Later, we got back on the camel and rode to the camp site where there were multiples groups having dinner and we got party at night. On day 3, we woke up at 5am for breakfast and had to be ready for 5h30 to get on the quads and ride in the desert. AMAZING. Just know you have to pay additional cost (about 400 dirham). YES DO IT!!!!! We got to the top to watch the sunrise, and then rode our quads back to the vans/buses. We then got on our way back to Marrakech. Its a long drive. I got to meet incredible people and made new friends who will stay in those memories forever.

Poor accommodation, food, and ride; only the desert itself was nice

AO_X, Apr 2026
TLDR; What you pay for (not much) is what you get. Let me start with the positives: 1. Our driver, Youssef, was great. 2. The sand dunes themselves, and the camel ride, were great. 3. The staff with the camels were great. The negatives: 1. Every single place you stop on the tour is to extract money from you. 2. The tour advertises "Ait-Ben-Haddou: Admission Ticket Free". Sure, the admission is free, but they make you pay 2 euros for the "guide". For a couple without cash on our tour the guide got very angry and demanded they go to an ATM to get cash to pay him his two euros. The "guide" also only spends 1/3 of the time showing you around the historical area and the other 2/3 trying to get you to buy things: artwork and headscarves. 3. The "guide" claimed a headscarf is mandatory for the desert, but it wasn't. He tries to get you to buy a headscarf for 15 euros, but the market rate is actually 1-3 euros (the price I bought one at the next day)! Do NOT buy a headscarf when they tell you to. The next day, you will stop at a river (Todra Gorge) where hundreds of merchants are selling the scarves for 1-3 euros. 4. Every restaurant we stopped at had tasteless, low quality food and cost ~15 euros. They bring you to restaurants in the middle of nowhere so it is hard to not pay for the overpriced food. However, we were able to escape the tour each day and buy our own lunch for less than 5 euros; check google maps in advance! 5. The tour advertises "Overnight in Tinghir". However, our overnight was not in Tinghir! It was at a hotel in a city more than an hour away called Kalaat M'Gouna. 6. The hotel (Hôtel Rose Mgouna) is rated 2.8 stars on google. There was no hot water at night to shower. There were blood stains on our mattress underneath our sheets. There was no cover on the duvet, so you are sleeping on a raw blanket (unsanitary). 7. Despite what the tour description said, we did not stop in Erfoud, Tinejdad, or Ouarzazate. 8. As someone who is tall, the van had no legroom. 9. Our tent in the desert contained dozens of flies before I even opened the door to it. I spent two hours that night trying to kill flies instead of sleeping. 10. When we returned to Marrakesh, our driver said that the tour company refused to allow him to drop us off at our hotel. So instead of dropping us off at our hotel, he unexpectedly dropped us off in the middle of the busy city, an hour walk from our hotel with all our luggage. The driver felt bad and offered to reimburse us for a taxi, but this added unnecessary stress. Overall, I would recommend this tour only if you have extremely low standards for accommodation, food, and transit. Otherwise, you can research another tour company that costs slightly more OR you can just rent a car and do the itinerary yourself!

Extreme dissatisfaction

Anonymous, Mar 2026
This has possibly been the poorest guided tour experience that my family and I have taken. We were extremely excited but from day 1 the experience with our guide was extremely disappointing. We were a family of 13 ppl had previously requested to ensure accommodation and accessibility with children. We began our tour and expected guided information for the diff historical spots however none such information was given and our guide rushed us thru without taking into account that moving with kids takes a bit more time. Therefater on day 2 when we went to our destination for camel rides we were made to wait without clear communication for periods of time and once we reached out to the company and they informed the driver he came bk at us and started yelling at us angrily and from that point on refused to communicate with us rather would tell other passengers instructions to tell us. We have traveled to multiple countries turkey uae Saudi etc never have we had such a problem and difficulties. Pick a different company one that will actually provide a good experience.

Said and Hassan were excellent on our trip. They were very friendly and took great care of us. We highly enjoyed our time with them!

Omar is the best - Alibaba

TYREK_A, Dec 2025
Hands down the best experience with Omar. He got us there safe with countless hours of driving in all condition weather. We had the best time in Morocco with him and the group in the car. He gave us a gift which was so meaningful because he was from his hometown. He was very attentive with any questions or concerns we had. Highly recommend him. He will give you nicknames which made it fun on our adventures. I will recommend all my friends and family to personal take his tour. Habibi come to Saharaaaaaa

Poor animal welfare but top host.

Charlotte_L, Oct 2025
There were pros and cons to the trip hence the average rating. The trip really was a lush tour overall and and we are so glad we did it. It gave us another view of Moroccan culture and allowed us to see things we wouldn't normally on our own. The desert and Alt Ben Haddou were particular highlights. Unfortunately, as we knew prior to the trip, animal welfare is not a thing in Morocco so we did not ride a Camel. They are badly treated and exploited for tourism. For people who care for animals should be sensible tourists and not ride them under these circumstances, despite the cool Instagram photos they may get. Instead we did the ATVs. The people running it were unorganised and unbothered before heading off which meant we only got a chance to ride one for 25mins and almost missed sunset (half way down by the time of parking up). However the morning ride was epic! So worth it and the views amazing. The minibus was not comfortable going home, small space and very poor air con but it is what it is. The trip is definitely worth it and good value. Just have in mind additional costs like tips, snacks and lunches. Lots of trips doing the same tour at the same places. The tour guides at the villages were great fun. Very entertaining and knowledgeable. We would give Walid a 10/10 for everything, he was attentive, friendly, and made sure every person was accounted for and looked after. He even tried to go above and beyond to sort the ATV people out for us. Lovely person.

Memorable Desert Tour – A Few Tips to Consider

Michelle_W, Jul 2025
We did the 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour via the High Atlas Mountains and had a fantastic experience. It was very well organized, and our driver, Hakim, was outstanding—friendly, responsible, and knowledgeable. A few tips that may help others plan ahead: there are minor extra costs along the way, such as tips for local guides, and drinks at dinner (which itself is included). ATV rides in the desert are also an additional cash expense. Fortunately, I had sufficient cash on hand but I wasn’t adequately advised nor was I prepared for this. If you're particular about accommodations, you will want to consider upgrading to the luxury package. Overall, this was a a well-run, memorable trip.

Amazing experience!

Jeffrey_A, Feb 2025
We had an amazing experience. Youssef was an excellent guide- he was kind and personable, always looking out for us, taking care every step of the way to make sure we and our son were happy. He went out of his way to make sure we didn’t miss a thing. The desert was so beautiful, and I think our 7 year old son will remember this experience for the rest of his life. We had many great stops, in the Atlas Mountains, in the desert, and learned a lot about Moroccan culture. The food was good. We could not be happier with the experience.

Great experience. Shout out to our driver/host Hesham who was excellent. Would recommend this and in particular him to anyone

Great experience

Hariprasad_B, Jan 2025
Our guide - Mohammad was excellent and very accommodating for the requests. We travelled with our 4 year old son. Day 1 - Good number of breaks at the landscape and views. Visited the Berber village where it all started. The houses built over 1000 years ago, still stand strong. Stayed at a hotel in Atlas Mountains. Day 2 - Started from the hotel and some break in between for photos. Went to the traditional carpet making house and bought some. Travelled to Merzouga the Sahara Desert. It was great to see the sand dunes and the colour. We reached there before sunset and hopped onto a Camel for the ride across the desert. It was first time and great experience. Got off the Camel and on top of a sand dune to watch the sunset. An awesome view not to be missed. Walked down to the tent which was good given that it is a desert. Traditional dinner and a camp fire was lit where they played Moroccan songs. Very cold in the middle of the night but enough blankets to cover and to keep warm. Only pack what is required as it is a one night stay and you wouldn't use anything much. Day 3 - Early start with breakfast and to get back you have an option to choose camel ride or quad bikes (£30 extra). We chose quad bikes and travelled to the top of the dunes to watch sunrise. After this back to the van to travel back to Marrakech. On the way back, it is a different route where you can see the depth of the mountains and spiral roads. This is via the Atlas Mountains and spectacular views not to be missed. I recommend the experience and must try.

My driver, Hamza. Was knowledgeable and helpful all along the way. The trip was wonderful and surpassed my expectations!

Must do!

Andrew_C, Nov 2024
Overall this is a must do tour . The reason for a 4 instead of 5 , was the operator of the tour . I had to follow up over two days prior to getting a pickup confirmation ( which in the end was further away than the last pickup stop. Ask for an English tour ( which the driver did speak ) but the other parties on the trip did not speak English ( or very little) , not a huge issue if it wasn’t a 3 day trip . Speaking with others that went with other operators, they seem to get a better overall experience . They received information about points of interest along the way and their driver , even dropped into a liquor store to bring drinks to the camp . Again this is must do adventure, but maybe not with this operator

Amazing!

Elina_B, Nov 2024
I recently took a 3-day tour to the Merzouga Desert, and it was absolutely unforgettable. The journey was well-organized, with scenic stops in the Atlas Mountains and traditional Berber villages along the way. Arriving in Merzouga, we were greeted by golden dunes stretching endlessly—a breathtaking sight. The camel trek to our desert camp was both thrilling and peaceful, and the camp itself was cozy and comfortable, with delicious Moroccan food and lively music around the fire. Watching the sunset and sunrise over the dunes was truly magical. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Morocco!

BEST TOUR EVER

Abeere_H, Nov 2024
I had one of the best tour guides ever, Houcine was just amazing!!! He was very caring, funny, and thoughtful. If anyone needed anything he would cater to their needs. He even stopped the bus for a pharmacy when someone asked. He made sure our accommodations were great and checked in often. He made everyone feel included and cared for. I would recommend for everyone to book this tour and asked for Houcine!!!! I give this experience 10000000 stars!!!!!

Great experience

Orestis_L, Nov 2024
Really nice organization and Iddir was an amazing guide. All the attractions along the way were really worth it and the time in the dessert was amazing. Definitely recommend. Also need to note that the place they have setup in the middle of the dessert is maybe the best I have experienced in terms of comfort, cleanliness and amenities in a similar setup. Totally worth it

Sunrise on the Sahara dunes. The trip exceeded expectations. Very well organised. Our driver Abis was great and very attentive to everyone's needs

Once in a lifetime experience

Chia_M, Sep 2024
Our tour coincided with the rare, once in 10 years heavy rain and storm which resulted in roads being flooded and we got stuck in Merzouga for an extra day. Simo, our guide, kept us safe throughout and had a positive attitude. He also got us a free upgrade to the luxury camps, which resulted in us being evacuated first. The company covered the food and accommodation for the extra night's stay. On hindsight, maybe it would've been safer if the tour was canceled given the weather forecast. Natural disaster aside, we still got to see and do all the activities. I enjoyed the food, activities, sights and befriended a few others in the group. The drive to the Sahara Desert is quite long, but worth it if you know what you're in for. Thank you Simo!
