Staff and guides were top notch! Professional and courteous! I am writing to warn that this excursion is not for someone who is out of shape. The trail is mostly mud puddles with tree roots protruding out. A walking stick, mud boots are required. Part of the trip was simply walking through shin deep water. I don’t think the two things you see at the end are worth walking over two miles.

The waterfall experience itself was great, as well as the communication through Viator. BUT The address provided by Viator was incorrect. It was very stressful trying to determine where the correct pick-up location was. I thought we were going to miss the tour. I finally looked up the address on Trip Advisor and was able to run to the pick up point several blocks away. There were too many people signed up for the tour and adequate comfortable transportation was limited. The actual provider, Jungle Adventures, called local drivers. We were crammed into the back seat of a minivan for the two-hour drive. there was absolutely no room to move. Very uncomfortable. But once there, the waterfall hike and swim were outstanding. The minivan driver also carried a plastic gallon jug of gasoline in the back seat. Not the safest thing to do. We ran out of gas on the way back and the driver had to stop and put the gallon of gas into the vehicle.

Difficult hike to and from the caves.

Popular (busy) hike through the Amazon

Very popular hike through the Amazon. The caves are amazing, but I'm told the waterfall only runs during the wet season. Expect a lot of people on this hike. There are some hills, and walking through water, so good footwear and comfort going barefoot are required! Go early in the morning for fewer people. If you have more time and want a more authentic Amazonian experience, go stay in a lodge somewhere, the prices are comparable and it's totally worth having your own guide.

Unreliable and terrible service

The tour was cancelled 5 minutes before was due to be picked up. Leaving me o time to find any alternative tour on my last day in Manaus. Very dissatisfied would suggest you find other operators that are more reliable. Getting a refund does not compensate for a day wasted.

Great use of my day in Manaus

Wonderful experience, refreshing to be in the water and beautiful scenery. Couple of points - we wanted an English tour, our guide did speak English and was fantastic - however, the first stop is guided by another group who did not speak English. Also - spend the $1-2 and get the rubber boots! Second - there is no place to ever change into dry clothes, and DO wear your swim suit. Third - when you stop for lunch, find out when you are leaving, eat quickly and get down to the river. We mistakenly thought we were going down with the group and then missed out. And lastly - this ended up being closer to 11 hours, so just be aware of that. In all, I would do it again.

STREPITOSA ESPERIENZA con una guida -Miguel- che sa fare il Suo lavoro. Prima parte dell'escursione un po' impegnativa, anche perché pioveva a dirotto. Poi, la meraviglia di cascate e grotte. Lo rifarei anche oggi. Con la fortuna di incontrare un gruppo di persone quasi tutte splendide. E nuovi Amici spero. Sembra cara, ma li vale anche per il pranzo gustoso che permette di rifocillarsi.
