James was an amazing and very flexible tour guide. He was extremely accommodating, as we had missed our connection flight, and we had to reschedule our reservation. He was more than willing to help us out. He he spoke very good English, knew all the locals, and provided us with a very authentic and unique Amazon experience. Including a wonderful tour, he also arranged a quick breakfast and wonderful lunch. James is very knowledgeable and we will definitely contact him if we are ever in Manaus again.
Alexander, the tour organizer was also excellent, he provided very clear and timely communication, as well as being flexible to our situation. Would highly recommend this experience.

This tour was booked to start at 9am but didn’t commence until after 10am. The tour operator appeared to have merged two tours with different itineraries and start times together. As a result we didn’t get what we expected and got back much later than expected.
It was supposed to be a trip on a large boat which then transferred to smaller motorized canoes for some aspects of the trip. This did not happen.
Additional, a major focus of the trip was supposed to include looking for pink and grey dolphins. There was absolutely no attempt to do this which resulted in a number of guests complaining about the trip.
We complained to Viator who have provided a partial refund but this is not good enough as we had to book an alternative trip on another day with our cruise line to do the dolphins spotting so we are out of pocket.
When we get home, we will be asking our credit card provider to reverse the whole cost to make up for our financial loss as the partial refund because we saw part of what was scheduled just does not cut it because of the extra expense that we incurred.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your message.
We believe there may have been a misunderstanding. As you were part of a group tour on the cruise, the schedule required us to wait for all participants before proceeding.
Since this was a shared group experience, some waiting time is expected. For future trips, we would recommend booking a private tour, which allows for a more flexible schedule.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,

This was a great tour. We were taken into an area of the Amazon we never would have been able to reach ourselves. James was a fun guide -- he connected with the guests and helped us all have fun.

Cons first. Pickup and drop-off were awful. The drop-off driver was aggressive, ran red lights, and clearly ignored traffic rules even after I asked him to drive safely.
The morning pickup was also late: I was told to be ready at 8:00 am, but the driver arrived around 8:36 am.
Another serious issue was the stop at the "indigenous village", animals are kept there and handed to tourists for photos as soon as boats arrive. The animals looked exhausted and constantly stressed, especially the sloths. This felt like clear animal mistreatment and should not be part of any tour or tourists should be discouraged and warned if tour operator cannot control it.
The guide translated only about 15–20% into English, with most explanations given in Portuguese, which made it hard to follow the tour.
On the positive side, the Meeting of the Waters was impressive, swimming near the pink river dolphins was a unique experience, and the lunch followed by a short walk in the forest was absolutely wonderful. Those parts of the tour were truly memorable.

Pickup and drop off seamless. 50-60 people in the boat. layed back. No stress tour. A necessary tour in Manaus.

For what it is, this tour covers a lot of ground: River confluence, pink dolphins, fishing, lunch, nature walk, and tribal village. Boat has power outlets for phone charging and free ice water. I think my group was among the 10% that spoke English. The guide’s English was okay when I spoke with him one on one, but otherwise, i didn’t know what he was saying. There’s a lot lost to translation or simply not as detailed since the Portuguese explanation was significantly longer than the English explanation. This is a consolidated tour, meaning you could find different vendors on Viator or anywhere else selling the same thing (ie similar itinerary but same boat trip), which means you can shop around for best pricing.

Swimming with the river dolphins was a lot of fun. The water was quite warm and comfortable. The meeting of the waters of the Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes to form the Amazon was magnificent. The other stops were just okay. While there was some English narration during the trip, it was quite limited.

Although the tour was very good, the description does not match the tour. The tour did not include a walk through the forest or a motorized canoe ride through the water lilies. Per the tour guide, the tour has been the same for several years.

Careful when you book. We booked the tour with the river side trip to see the Vitoria Regia lillies (which was offered), but when we arrived, they informed us that they didn’t offer this tour during the dry season (not sure where the communication breakdown was between the tour operator and Viator). Also, note that they may pick you up from your hotel, but they may not return you to your hotel.
The sound system on the boat was terrible. The Brazilian I sat by could not understand anything in Portuguese and I couldn’t understand anything in English. But when I spoke with our guide directly, he was great.
With those words of caution, we still had a wonderful time. We spent more time on the boat going to our stops than expected, but we loved seeing the pink river dolphins, the pirarucu farm (definitely spend the 10 reais for 3 bamboo rods with fish bait…those big fish hit hard!), and the meeting of the waters. Our boat pilot did a great job of maneuvering the boat so everyone got good views and pictures. The lunch buffet was hot and tasty. The visit to the indigenous village was a little staged, but the traditional music and dance was still interesting although brief.

This is a highly recommended tour for anyone with a short time in Manaus. I sent a message through Viator about the pick up time and I immediately received a reply. The driver arrived promptly at my hotel and delivered me to the port where I met the guide, Neto. He immediately informed me of the day’s itinerary and spoke very good English. The boat was full, mainly with Portuguese speakers but a handful of us spoke English and Neto explained everything in both languages. Several activities are packed into this 6 hour tour making it very good value for money. This includes a very good buffet lunch. Since I really wanted to take a walk in the rainforest which was not part of this tour, (with my short time in Manaus preventing me from booking a longer tour), Neto made sure to include a short walk in the forest for those who were interested, all the while explaining what we were seeing. For this diversion,
which he told me was done for me, I am very grateful. All in all, a highly recommended fun tour.

Great trip for a taste of the Amazon for a short visit in Manaus! Saw the pink dolphins, the two waters meet, had lunch, took a walk in the rainforest, and visited an indigenous tribe.
I'd recommend this if you have a short stay in Manaus!

We had an amazing time on this tour! It was my first time trying Viator but it worked well and the pick up and drop off at the hotel was very convenient.
Swimming with the pink dolfins, seeing the incredible meeting of the rivers and walking in the jungle were some of the many highlights of the tour.
Although the tour was advertized as English it was 95% in portuguese. And although it said half day we were only back at 3pm, but that was not a problem for us.

Great tour. The half day is really a half day not 4 hours as the Tripadvisor description says. Get a front seat in the boat if possible, would be helpful a lot of times.

For the value ok because there are a lot of activities. Very touristy and over crowded. To many people to really interact with the dolphins. At times seemed rush. Good for a intro in the amazon but would recommend also taking a more intimate and longer tour

The Wedding of the Waters (Negro and Amazon rivers merging) is certainly a highlight if you have never seen this scenario previously. Viewing the Pink Dolphins was much more exciting.
Tour included a stop at a restaurant on the banks of the river, then a walk up some rickety steps to view the water lilies.
Organization was very good for meeting our guide (there is a wharf and a separate cruise terminal facility in Manaus, which is very confusing - which one do I go to?), getting us onto the boat and through the various stops.

I contacted Viator a couple days before my tour about details of timing on meeting the leader/group as we were docking at 9am the day of tour. The Viator rep (woman) said that was too late, that I had to be at the pick up stop 30-45 mins earlier than tour start. I told her my cruise didn't dock till 9am and she said they wouldn't wait for me and I told her I was never told to meet that early. She said it was written on my ticket and I told her it wasn't. So I told her to cancel it since i wasn't told that I had to be there so early.

This was an excellent tour which I definitely recommend. It included seeing (and swimming with) pink dolphins, going to a fishing pier where we saw giant pirarucu, having an excellent buffet lunch on a floating pier, seeing some of the rainforest from a dilapidated boardwalk, visiting an indigenous’village’, and seeing the waterfront of Manaus from a boat. The tour also went to the famous Meeting of the Waters, but that was not the best part of the tour. Whether it was the clouds or perhaps because we were so close to the water, it was hard to distinguish the different colors.
Our guide spoke good English and was very good about answering questions. We met the tour in the Cruise Terminal building. The guide had a sign with our names in big print, so it was easy to find the right group.
They provided ice cold water which was greatly appreciated. There were several opportunities to buy souvenirs at the different piers we visited.

We had a fantastic time on this tour! There were about 40 people in the group. The food was fabulous at the floating restaurant and plentiful. The variety of activities was interesting and fun.
We absolutely loved "fishing" for the paracaca fish and swimming with the pink dolphins (although we opted to watch others do it from the dock). The length of the tour was perfect and moved at a good pace, not overly fast or too slow. The guide was friendly and good-but did not offer a lot of commentary on the places we went. That may have been because we had multiple nationalities on the tour. Overall-it was an excellent value and a fabulous day out and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Even though labeled as a half day trip, it was a full day enjoyable trip experiencing several attractions. The guide on the boat was talking both in Portuguese and English although it appeared that relatively less in English which was confirmed to us by some bilingual tour customers. That was the only improvement I would recommend. Otherwise it was an excellent tour.

Although a late start and noise of boat made it difficult to hear the guide fully, we had a full day of touring and a great buffet lunch. Definitely worth taking the tour to see the pink dolphins and the rainforest Indigenous tribal rituals.

Only took this trip to see the Meeting of the Waters, positives, yes we saw the Meeting of the Waters, our guide was good, the lunch was lovely. What I didn’t like was the Tribal visit, they had Sloths, Boa, Monkey, Parrots and a Cayman/Alligator you could have photos taken with, these animals shouldn’t be here, goodness knows what they do with the Cayman or the other animals to make them docile, I’d rather they shut this place down. As for the fish farm and dolphin swim not for me either.

The waterfalls in Presidente Figueiredo were amazing. I have never seen so many waterfalls in the same geographic area.
I recommend wearing galoshes while walking in the trails. It does not cost very much. I think they should include that in the price.
