Overview

Discover Mallorca’s rugged north coast by horseback and then return to the ranch for a barbecue dinner and dancing. Set off along a scenic trail on Mallorca’s north coast in the evening. Depending on your level of experience, you’ll either continue through pretty woodland with the Mediterranean coast in the distance or enjoy a gallop on the sands. After your ride, return to the stables for a hearty dinner of barbecued meat, salad, bread and fruit served with Spanish sangria, before closing off the evening with dancing and live country music.

Itinerary

At selected Mallorca hotels, you’ll climb aboard an air-conditioned coach destined for Rancho Grande — a traditional ranch located in Son Serra de Marina. On arrival, you’ll receive a refreshing glass of sangria and form groups according to your horseback riding ability.

Then, saddle up and enjoy a 1.5-hour ride through rugged Majorcan scenery abundant with flora and fauna. Beginner and intermediate riders will explore the forest at a relaxed pace, while expert riders will gallop along the gorgeous curve of Mallorca’s coastline.

After your ride, you’ll gaze at adorable baby animals at the ranch’s farm and then revitalize with a well-deserved barbeque dinner. Feast upon grilled meat, bread and salad while sipping drinks such as sangria, orange juice or water.

Sated, immerse yourself in the spirit of the ranch during a fun-filled line dancing session accompanied by country music. Dance, drink and be merry before returning to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle.

Such a great experience. Our driver picked us up near Palma and took us all the way to the North Side of the Island. If you are a new rider they take you on a leisurely ride through the nearby hills. If you are more advanced then it’s a faster ride by the sea. The ranch is gorgeous. So many animals walking around. The horses and guides are wonderful. The dinner after wards was perfection! We met really great people during dinner. It was a wonderful experience. The line dancing was fun. Then the show afterwards was AMAZING. Can not recommend this trip enough! The ranch is great for people all ages. They have covered wagon rides for people who don’t ride! Will be recommending it to all my friends.

All i can say is this was fantastic from minute one. Staff were very friendly and spoke great English and many other languages. The riding was brilliant , been a long while since I last rode but they made me feel comfortable before we started. Food was lovely and the entertainment was outstanding. Would recommend this to all. Def 5 star . Also made some new friends.Thank you all.

After reading the description of this experience and the reviews, my friend and I decided to book via Viator. However, we both felt very mislead by what we thought this tour would entail and what actually happened. It was by far the worst travel tour experience we both have had and we’ve traveled and done tours in many different countries including Brazil, Mexico, France, England, and Rwanda. First, I followed the instructions in the listing and emailed to confirm transportation would be needed for my friend and I from the pickup location near Palma (it was about a 20 min taxi ride away). I received confirmation back from the tour company, No Frills Excursions, that we would both be picked up. However, when the van arrived, the driver was only told there would be 1 person, so he didn’t have enough room in his van. Luckily, he called a colleague who was nearby and had space in his van, but it meant my friend and I had to be separated. The driver seemed frustrated but apologetic making me think this is probably something that has happened to him before. The drive to the ranch took about an hour and the ranch is located near the north end of the island which we had not had an opportunity to explore. However, if you are prone to car sickness, take a Dramamine. Upon arrival at the ranch, this is where the chaos begins. The experience description on Viator mentions NOTHING about the number of guests that will be a part of the experience. My assumption was that the group would likely consist of maybe 20-30 people max—I was VERY wrong. In our session, we counted based on the tables/plates for dinner and there were approximately 150 people who did the combined ride, dinner, and show. What’s even more crazy is about another 80 people after we finished and did a la cart dinner but stayed for the evening show. So the total number of guests at the ranch was close to 250 people. We were in the first half of the 150 to arrive so we road horses first. The second group road after us so they probably had to wait about 30-45 mins before getting to ride and we had to wait about an hour before we could have dinner while they were riding. Next is when the absolute chaos happened. Imagine approximately 75 people, all speaking 3-4 different languages, mounting horses after getting only about 3 mins of instruction. They did tell the group to divide up based on horseback riding experience, but only 4 people chose to be in the canter/trot group and about 20 people chose to ride in the wagon. This put about 40-ish people in the beginner /walk group. I grew up riding horses so I felt comfortable, but my friend didn’t have any experience riding before so I planned to stay by her and help her if needed. That didn’t happen because they split us up when mounting and there were so many people on horses who didn’t know how to control them I couldn’t even navigate over to her because I was busy moving my horse out of the way when people came charging right at us. A couple of the horses also were frustrated by being piled up on each other and one spooked into another horse and rider but luckily staff was close by and grabbed the reins. They also instructed us to ride in a single file line so I couldn’t ride up ahead to try and get to my friend either. At this point I regretted not going in the more experienced group because at least they got to ride and not have to be in a mass of people and horses which made what is supposed to be a relaxing experience pretty stressful. The dinner and show were fine with the highlight being the horse performances but we didn’t depart the ranch until after 11 and it felt very chaotic to make sure you made it into the right van headed towards the correct destination. There was little to no instruction about the return portion of the trip but at least my friend and I were able to stay together. I think the staff of the ranch managed to handle this mass of people in the best manner that they could but I don’t know how anyone wouldn’t feel overwhelmed with that many people. The staff that accompanied us on the ride did a good job helping and keeping the horses in line but then they also were serving dinner and dealing with guests after the ride. I honestly don’t know how they do this multiple days a week, dealing with this many tourists and maintaining their sanity. I guess it’s a testament to their character and how they are able to bring in income for their family. Ultimately, had we known how large the group of guests would be, we never would have booked this tour and would have looked either for a small group ride or arranged to do another activity since this consumed 10 hours on our vacation. It seems like the tour company just wants to have as many guests as possible with little regard for the experience and safety for both the guests and ranch staff. I would hope they would limit the number of riders at a time or do a better job keeping track of the number of riders in each category going forward. I would not recommend this experience unless you are accustomed to doing large tour group experiences.

Well worth the cost, picked up from hotel at 3.30pm and dropped back at hotel for 10.45pm and in between the day and night we had a fantastic time , horse riding a laugh, staff brilliant and freindly, meal good, drinks reasonable , dancing after a laugh and the show at the end was so talented great day away would definatly reccomend you go to this they all work so hard to make sure you enjoy yourself they are all a credit to the ranch long may it continue and give such lovely memories to people. The ranch was a good experience. There were problems with the pick up, but it was not a fault from the ranch, but at fault from Viator, who does not answer the phone

just a great experience in all…. the horseback riding had 4 different ride categories (Gallop, trout, walk & those who wanted to ride in the wagon pulled by healthy and happy horses. the food was delicious but our plates was sort of dirty but we managed. but i will give the whole experience a 9.5/10! almost forgot that Sangria was too good & they offered hotel pick up

Lovely friendly English speaking guy picked us up from a local hotel (great to be able to pick a local hotel for pick up thanks) and our guide (there were only two of us on the ‘gallop’ group) was very accommodating, even taking a video of us on her phone. We didn’t gallop on the beach but had several fast canters, perfect for myself and my 13 year old daughter who have our own horses at home. Evening meal was great, guy singing on the guitar good, I was sad not to be able to linedance (we came at Easter, apparently that’s done in the summer) as we are linedancers at home too, but all in all great experience thanks.

Absolutely magical! I want to do it again 100 more times. You're split into groups depending on how fast you want to ride and how experienced you are, and despite there being so many people and horses in one group, I was very impressed with how organised and smooth everything was! I went for the gallop group, and it was absolutely mind blowing. The horses take off VERY fast, and the whole team was 100 competent and I never felt unsafe. And the evening dressage show was just magical, my jaw was hanging open the whole time and I think I'm re-evaluating the career I want in life. Overall, if you only do one thing in Mallorca- do this!! You won't regret it.

This turned out to be a terrible experience - we were staying in port soller highly recommend this area if you want to get away from tourist traps. Unfortunately, this activity specifically targets tourist traps and were not flexible with very unpredictable public transportation. also, please note that this is booked through another agency which then books with the organization of the activity. so for any communication, theres a vicious cycle of pointing the finger.

This tour has a lot of promise and is at a great venue. It also offers some really beautiful views of the Mallorca countryside. I love horses so this was really attractive to me. The complaints I have, thought, are that I was picked up at 3:30pm from my hotel and was taken to the ranch, about an hour drive from the city. This was OK with me, I expected that and enjoyed seeing some of the country as we drove along. However, there was a couple in the van with us who did not speak english and they were given all kinds of information in Danish the entire trip, while the rest of of who did speak english were not spoken to AT ALL the entire ride. And we were all on the English speaking trip, as requested. We were also not spoken to when we arrived at the ranch and not given the same instructions, leaving us confused. The actual ride did not start until after 6:00, leaving us just sitting around with nothing to do until then. There are farm animals on the property to see, but not enough to see for almost 2 hours. After the ride, we were also waiting around for at least an hour before dinner because they had another group coming in for the sunset ride and we had to wait for them to start and finish their ride. We then had to wait for them to finish their dinner before we could start the dancing and music. After the 1 hour drive back to the city, we did not return until 11:30. I think it could have been coordinated a lot better and there was too much waiting around. If I had known this, I would have done the sunset ride. The evening one had about 1.5 - 2 hours worth of activity, and entertainment and 5-6 hours of just sitting in the van or sitting around at the ranch.

no well organized and finally impression was very negative. First of all, lacal agent requested to be on the pick up place at 14.50 LT. The shuttle arrived at 15.25 LT It was plein of passengers. After long trip (about 1 hour 10 min.) arrived to rancho and ... was waiting more than 1 hour the ride to start (no any programm - only waiting). From 17.00 till 18.00 the horse ride took place. After that was waiting untill 19.30, but nothing happened. The responsible guy said the dinner will start after 21.00 after some competitions. We were hungry, I asked to arrange with BBQ (We saw the apetite peaces on the grill), but I received the answer that dinner will start after competitions only... At 20.00 LT competitions started , I called the taxi (90 euros fees) and went to hotel to eat STUPID ORGANIZATIION and additional costs I paid for nothing

This is a fantastic tour. We were picked up and brought to the Ranch and handed a sangria drink upon arrival. After meeting everyone we did the horseback riding for about 1.5 hrs. through beautiful countryside. The horses were good and we were well taken care of by the guides. We trotted quite a bit we think the next time we will do the galloping. Upon our return we were served a beautiful barbeque supper and then a wonderful evening of dancing and country music. Honestly, this was a fantastic evening, we felt like we were with friends at home having a summer evening party. Whoever planned out this tour did a fabulous job. We felt so relaxed. This is a great tour for anyone who wants something a little western. Coming from Edmonton, Alberta we loved it.

This was a good trip. We were inexperienced with horseback riding so although we wanted to actually "ride" the horses we had to do the beginners trail and walk slowly. We would have preferred to have been able to move a little faster but we understood the reasons for the precautions. The dinner was delicious and the trip was a lot of fun overall.
