This was awesome! I loved the small size group (6) and the small but very cool vehicle. The 2 tour guides were awesome informing us about the glacier and surrounding geology. The guides Caitlin and (???) were super personable and interesting, answering all of our questions.

On must do list. Absolutely amazing. Our guide Caitlyn was amazing. Small group of 5 people in the middle of glacier. They give you ample time there and hot tea was a bonus.

Columbia Ice odyssey and sky walk

Ice Odyssey at the Columbia ice field. We had a really enjoyable and informative time on the ice field in a small group (9 people total). We spent time on the Athabaska glacier- dipped our faces in the water pouring off the top of the glacier surface and learned about ice mountaineering gear. We were given grips for our shoes so we wouldn’t slip and served herbal tea ( we could keep the cup as a souvenir). We then went on the sky walk which was impressive with spectacular views but far too busy which spoiled the experience. We also felt it was too expensive

The ice tour itself is fantastic. Keep in mind the vehicle is small and you need to be nimble to get in and out. The center where you meet and get your transfer to the icefield is an absolute crap show. Busy, crowded, unorganized. Pack your patience.

We had a fantastic trip out to the Columbia Icefield. Caitlyn and Carla did a wonderful job educating us on the glaciers we saw. Artie and the driver gave us a very informative demonstration of the gear used to climb & survive climbing on the ice.

Excellent Small Group Glacier Experience!

Once in a lifetime adventure for us to stand on a glacier! Led by our guide, Tommy, and Andrew, our driver, we started out in a snow squall which we thought would block any great views. By the time we reached the glacier the snow subsided, the skies cleared and we had incredible views. Tommy shared a lot of info about the history of the area, the glacier itself and its future. Our group was small (7 instead of the max of 10), and it was well worth the price for a more intimate experience. We even saw a small avalanche on the Andromeda side of the glacier a very safe distance away. An awesome experience all around and definitely recommend!
