Our workshop is located in "Anabala Pasajı" which opens to two streets, and is pinned in the google maps location. On one side, there's a vintage shop called Petra and on the other, there's a tattoo shop. Take the flight of stairs next to the tattoo shop and follow the signs to our cozy workshop!

Hamza and Ilker run a great workshop highly recommend doing when coming to Istanbul. I was unable to make the first session and they were able to make a special exception for my wife and I to rebook.
The class itself was extremely enjoyable and well worth the money. You go away with a hand made souvenir to remember your trip with and a deep appreciation for turkish handmade carpets.

This was a great class! Both I and my 10-year-old daughter had a great time. The instructor did a great job of teaching us and also showed us videos on how larger rugs were made as well as showed us the difference of how Persian Rugs are made. He even gave extra time to those who needed it to finish their rugs. I highly recommend this hands on learning and crafting experience.

The weaving class was a lot of fun. It was our first time using the knot tying technique. İlier was a great instructor, helpful and very friendly. He ever gave class members transportation and restaurant tips. We’d definitely recommend trying this workshop if you have a free few hours in Istanbul.

We really enjoyed our class! Our teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable, his English was also great so no trouble understanding the lesson. The small group size also meant we got support whenever needed. We were sent very thorough instructions and photos prior to the class making it easy to locate.

This experience was amazing. The space is a little hard to find but the team sent lots of photos and then walked us through it via WhatsApp when we got turned around.
The class was very well done, learned a bit of history about rug making, chose our colors and pattern then got to work. The teacher was knowledgeable and gave everyone individual attention as needed. We were all able to leave with a completed rug that will be a great memory of our trip.
The added local recommendations were a nice touch and I can’t wait to go back to the bakery they suggested.
The experience felt very locally run from the generational knowledge of our teachers.

This was honestly a highlight of my trip, Kaan was amazing, super nice, explained everything clearly and really knowledgeable. I was supposed to do this with my brother but he was unfortunately sick, Kaan offered to move our booking to a later date so my brother could hopefully come as well but unfortunately it was the last day we were here.
This was so much fun and ended up with an amazing keepsake from the trip 10/10 recommend to everyone.

Hosts were very responsive to messages and very helpful with guiding us to the workshop. The event itself was very engaging and although it was a bit difficult at first, it was pretty simple once you learned the motions. 100% will come again and will recommend to anyone who comes to Istanbul. It was right by Istiklal Street, so it was a nice little quiet break from the crowds.

I loved this Turkish Carpet & Rug Weaving Workshop in Istanbul! It was one of the highlights of my trip. Ilker was welcoming and knowledgeable - they shared fascinating insights about the centuries-old art of Turkish weaving and guided us through every step of the process.

I got to actually try traditional weaving techniques using looms and colorful threads, which gave me a whole new appreciation for how much skill and artistry goes into each carpet. The carpet making class Hakim taught was absolutely amazing! He’s incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and makes the craft come alive with his passion. I left not only with a handmade piece I’m proud of, but also a deep appreciation for the art of carpet making. Highly recommend! Please dont miss out, the carpet I made is my favorite personal souvenir from this trip!!

Very detailed and thorough experience. Hakeem was super patient with my 3 kids. Most kids cannot sit for 3 hours in a detailed oriented session but Hakeem made it super fun and engaging. He was also a phenomenal host.

Ilker was a great teacher, very friendly, patient, and happy to share information about Istanbul and carpets.
The class was informative as well as fun. They gave us some Turkish Tea and Turkish Delights but I got so focused on weaving my carpet I let the tea get cold (I was not distracted enough to ignore the Turkish Delights though).

Great and unique activity to do with friends/family indoors. Ilker and Kaan are wonderful hosts and they not only take you through the process very patiently, but also spoil you with sweets, chocolate and coffee. They also kept us engaged in a free flowing conversation and we didn’t even realise how three hours passed! Highly recommend!

This was one of my favorite experiences while in Turkey. My girlfriend is really into carpet weaving so she insisted we do this while in Istanbul. I'm normally not into that kind of thing but this exceeded my expectations. I learned a lot about Turkish culture and got to try some really good Turkish candy. Also the guys running the workshop were extremely friendly and patient. While weaving the carpet we also talked about a lot of "guy" stuff which provided a nice balance. I would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this workshop! My wife and I were looking for something different to do while visiting Istanbul for a week and came across this workshop. After seeing so many beautiful textiles in the markets we thought it would be fun to try and create our own. The workshop was phenomenal! The instructors were great, guiding us through the process and sharing some history about Istanbul during the workshop. They made us feel right at home with their warmth and offered us tea and biscuits as we crafted our carpet. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something unique to do while in Istanbul

It was a workshop that I rarely came across at Viator. It was great to create patterns and knits by constantly adding on top of each other with the help of needle and thread. Tea and coffee served during the workshop were also delicious. I recommend this workshop to everyone, which I tried for the first time and enjoyed doing with the beautiful narration.

Ein sehr schönes Erlebnis. Erleben sie in Istanbul nicht nur die Besichtigung der klassischen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Stattdessen erleben sie doch einmal klassische türkische Kultur. Der Teppichweben Workshop bietet eine willkommene Abwechslung zum regen Treiben der Millionenmetropole. Der Workshop ist definitiv keine Touristenfalle, sondern wunderschön und entspannend. Die Veranstalter sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Ich kann diese Veranstaltung nur wärmstens empfehlen!
