Lovely day trip

There was a good selection of activities to keep the family entertained. We’d opted for the premium package, but the vendor had to reschedule. To compensate us, he offered a free trip to Bursa and voucher to use for the zipline. Our guide, Isa was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was a long day, 8a.m. to 10p.m, but all in all, there was so much to do that we didn’t realise the time until the journey home; we had a great day. It was nice to be away from the busyness of Istanbul.

Ride to Lake Sapanca

You are basically paying for a ride to Lake Sapanca and a lunch from the tour company which was very bland chicken and rice with two beef patties and kefir drink. It was a very long drive with stops at different markets to purchase souvenirs. Everything on this tour was a money grab. You pay for the ATV’s, you pay for the cable car, you pay for the zip lining, you pay for the aquarium and safari park. All of that adds up! It was a VERY expensive tour. Also, the aquarium and water park were VERY expensive and we were only given 30 minutes for each park. Although they were small, we were trying to get through them and were on such a time crunch to get through the parks that it was a total waste of money. Issa was a nice tour guide and he was very accommodating but it was very hard to understand his English at times because he spoke so quickly. We were picked up at 8:20 am and didn’t have lunch til almost 5pm so eat beforehand. We also didn’t arrive back at our hotel til after midnight! I don’t know that I’d recommend this tour. I’d recommend for you to rent a car then you won’t have to stop at the different souvenir shops unless you wanted to do that. I would’ve had a lot more fun if we didn’t have to keep stopping. One thing that was highly annoying was our tour operator reminding us to respect everyone’s time and to return to the van at certain times which we respected but others did not so we’d spend time sitting on the bus and some people didn’t come back til 20 minutes after the meeting time. At one stop our operator, Issa, said we were stopping just for five minutes to go to the bathroom, but one couple spent over 20 mins buying luggage while we were just sitting in the van. Issa was very kind to celebrate my birthday on this tour. And I will say my daughter had a great deal of fun on the ATV’s and at zip lining.
