Lutfi is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced tour guide, and we appreciated the depth of information he shared. At times, though, it was difficult to hear him, as he spoke quite softly, which made parts of the tour harder to follow. Overall, if you’re someone who prefers a quieter, more low-key guide and values deep knowledge, you may enjoy this tour, but clearer projection would really improve the experience.

First, it’s a small group tour with no more than 15 guests per tour. If you’ve traveled a lot, you know that’s a big deal. Our guide Lutfullah was kind, patient and shared a wealth of knowledge with the group. We also appreciated his yellow umbrella, open when possible, or closed but raised when necessary. I find it particularly frustrating when guides don’t do this. The areas visited on this tour are very popular. It’s easy to get separated. The tour is comprehensive to say the least! If you’ve traveled have one day in Istanbul, you’ll get it all on this tour. It is demanding. A lot of walking and a fair number of stairs to climb. We’re in our late 60’s and I have some arthritis. Lutfullah is mindful of his guests and thoughtfully pauses for seated rest breaks where possible. Awesome tour and fabulous guide! Thank-you dear Lutfullah.

Ludwig was a fantastic tour guide - informative, funny, personable, and made sure everyone in the tour group was comfortable. It was a long day (which we expected), but we laughed and learned the whole time. I would rate him a 10 out of 5 if the app would let me.

This was an amazing tour! Lütfullah is super knowledgeable, personable, and fun, and really went out of his way to be helpful. I felt like I learned a lot and got to see most of Istanbul’s most famous sights all in one tour. I especially recommend this if you only have a day or two in Istanbul, but want to make sure you are hitting the most important spots. 10/10 would recommend this tour :)

I’ve taken many all day tours through Viator, and this one was the absolute best. Truly was a small group setting, allowing us to be nimble and flexible through all the sites. Lutfullah was our guide. He did an excellent job of navigating the group, sharing history, entrance policies to the mosques, making a suggestion for lunch and answering all our questions along the way. We covered so much ground in one day, keeping it interesting without being overwhelming or feeling run down at the end. Being able to quickly walk through lines and navigate through the large sites was a huge time saver. I will recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Istanbul.

We booked this tour because the itinerary was perfect and included everything we wanted to see in one day and we could not have done it without the expertise of Lutfullah who navigated us through Istanbul and all the sights. He was very thorough in telling us the history of the sites, had a good sense of humor and happily answered all our questions. He was also very patient and did not rush us, letting us take our pictures and guided us at a leisurely pace.
We were impressed at the start by the excellent communication provided by Lutfullah. Right after we had booked the tour, Lutfullah contacted us to give us detailed information regarding the prices of the sites, where to meet, what to wear, etc. and kept in touch until the day of the tour. He met us on time and spent the entire day (9am- 5:30pm) with us touring all the must see sites. We had a delicious and enjoyable lunch getting to know Lutfullah and then continued the tour taking the tram across the Galata Bridge. We then took a cruise around the Bosphorous and afterwards visited the Dolmabahce Palace since it was a Tuesday and the Topkapi Palace was closed. Finally, Lutfullah helped us get on the tram to get back to our hotel.
We would like to express our gratitude to Lutfullah for providing a wonderful experience and highly recommend him if you want an enjoyable and comprehensive tour of Istanbul.

This tour is definitely the best was to fit the max amount of things to see in Istanbul in one day! We saw so much, had amazing food, and the guide Lutfullah Findikogku was very knowledgeable about everything in the city. The tour is a full day of walking so bring good walking shoes! We really enjoyed our tour with Lütfullah today walking around Istanbul! Each destination was spot on (even the lunch recommendation) and we feel like we truly learned a lot about Istanbul today.
Lütfullah himself was an excellent tour guide. He has the right balance of giving information, free time, chats and he was able to answer all our questions.
We have done a lot of walking tours and would say that this is one of the best ones we've had around the globe.

All of the sights were absolutely beautiful, and I truly enjoyed seeing them. However, my guide, Lutfullah, came across as overly sassy and, at times, borderline disrespectful. Whenever I tried to greet or thank locals in Turkish, he repeatedly corrected me and told me I was saying it wrong. While the tour was conducted in English, he mispronounced many English words himself, which made the constant corrections feel unnecessary and uncomfortable.
I mentioned that another guest and I had gone on a food tour the night before and had a great experience. He asked with whom, and when we mentioned the guide’s name, he responded, “Anyone can do a food tour,” and rolled his eyes. Speaking negatively about another guide in your own city felt very unprofessional.
I would recommend the tour for the locations and overall experience, but not this particular guide.
Additionally, the tour was far too expensive for the level of service I received. I paid a little over $100 for the tour itself, plus an additional $160 USD for entry tickets. While the ticket prices did add up, the overall cost felt excessive.
At the end of the tour, which concluded with a boat ride, the guide got off on the Asian side and told me and the other two guests that we had five minutes to disembark. As tourists who don’t speak the language, this felt unprofessional and poorly handled.
Overall, the sights were wonderful, but the experience with the guide and the overall cost did not meet expectations.

Regarding your comments about pronunciation: when guests wish to greet locals in Turkish, I sometimes offer corrections so they can feel more confident and be better understood. This is always meant as supportive guidance, never criticism. If my delivery felt uncomfortable to you, that was certainly not my intention.
As for the remark about another guide, I would like to clarify that I did not intend to diminish anyone’s work. Istanbul has many talented guides, and each offers a different style and specialization. If my tone was interpreted differently, I apologize for that impression.
Concerning the pricing: all tour and museum entrance fees are transparently listed before booking. Regarding the Bosphorus cruise ending: the official tour program concludes before the cruise segment. I remained attentive to ensure you did not miss your stop, as disembarkation timing on public boats can be brief. My intention was to assist, not rush you.

Lutfullah, our guide was wonderful. As our trip approached, he sent reminders with date, time, and meeting place, as well as what to expect. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and great to spend the day with. With just a day and a half stopover in Istanbul, this tour allowed us to efficiently visit everything we most wanted to experience. Be aware that you will walk a lot and cover a lot of ground. Also know that entrance fees must be paid in cash at the start of the tour (as explained to you). We highly recommend this tour!

This was the best investment that we made during our trip to Istanbul. Ludwig was fantastic. He was informed, funny, engaging, and a delight to be around all day. Our small group tour turned into a day with just our guide, Ludwig - no waiting, no hassles, a great lunch, and a great time. His English was easy to understand and his insight was very valuable. He studied history and tourism at his university and it showed. We hit all the Istanbul highlights in one day during our short visit to the country. This gave us more time to explore on our own before leaving. TIPS: Our tour didn't include the set fees for skip the line visits so be prepared for that - about $150 more per person for us, but well worth the cost for us.
