We will be at the Cruise ship port standing next to our sign that says our company name in spot #7 at the harbor. Departure times change daily according to the port schedule. We enjoyed this tour. Liked being in a small group with a guide who was knowledgeable. We particularly liked the lunch stop for fish soup and smoked lamb. :)

Very good tour. Jake was a fabulous tour guide. As he warned it was slippery at falls. And wet. Loved the bird sanctuary first (strategic to avoid the rush at the falls) and the fishing village at the end.

This is a small group tour where you ride in a van. Our guide, Orl, was a lovely elderly gentleman who was a native Icelander. As we were driving, he spoke into a mic and told us about the landscape, Icelandic history, Icelandic folklore, and the villages we were passing. We went to a stunning waterfall that was very high, but as it traveled down, it evolved into many smaller waterfalls. You could walk up a rocky path along it and there were cables on each side to hold on to which is good because the rocks were slippery. There were several viewing areas along the way for photos of the other waterfalls, which seemed to be another "wow" around each curve of the path. All around the landscape here there were gorgeous wildflowers. We were given an hour here which was plenty of time to explore the falls and use the restrooms. This was our first stop and it was much busier when we left. Our other stops included a beach with a long dock in a fjord, a scenic stop about a saga that took place long ago, and a town that had 1 street with a coffee shop, a doll museum, and a bookstore, the oldest bookstore in Iceland. We had about 1/2 hour here. The bookstore was great and had books in several languages. At the end of the tour, we rode through Isafjordur and Orl pointed out what all the buildings were that we passed.

Saw everything the cruise ship excursion did but we had our own private guide as there were only 2 other people. Flo was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our wishes. Highly recommend. Tried fish soup on his recommendation and loved it. You won’t be disappointed.

We loved this tour! The waterfall was the highlight of our entire trip, the entire drive there offered incredible views of the mountains, and fjords. We saw seals and many different sea birds.
The small town we stopped in on the way back had a cute cafe with delicious coffee drinks and bagels.
Our guide Flo was fantastic- he was knowledgeable, kind and funny.

The guide was good. The van was in bad shape and we could not see out the window. It was supposed to be 4 hours but it was 5 1/2.

Ana was a terrific host and driver. Learned lots about local area and people and animals. Waterfalls are very impressive and lots of tourists!
Note: pathway to upper levels is for agile and younger legs. Lower levels are well constructed and wide enough for 2 way walking. Some bugs here, so hat with face mesh is good idea. Timing was prompt and about 4.5 hours.

Beautiful falls, popular site so it can be congested, easy to access. Should you chose to hike up to the base of the larger falls, it can be a little strenuous. Our guide was a local who was helpful and able to answer any questions.

Great tour, good value, worth the time and money. Very long lines at the Hundafoos waterfall bathroom, used half of tour time waiting in line so plan accordingly. Well worth the view from the top but takes a little effort to get there especially when lots of people are on the pathway.

There are a lot of great things to see on this tour route. Unfortunately, it seems they have a strict schedule of stops so we passed up a lot of cool things only to stop at places that really had nothing to view. That was unfortunate. This would have been easy to correct. Hope they reconsider future chores and stop when wildlife is abundant and it's an easy stop

Great experience with a great tour company. The falls were beautiful with plenty of time to experience them. Our guide was very informative about the area and answered all our questions. Be aware the path going up next to the series of falls is challenging for anyone with mobility issues, however you can still get a great view and experience from the bottom of the falls.
The tour operator was great with communication prior to the tour with precise info about meeting place. He was there as well the day of the tour and greeted everyone. Highly recommend

The tourist guide (pronounced as Aio?!) performance fell short of our collective expectations. Firstly, introductions and descriptions of scenic spots had not been adequate; tones are not inspiring, if not bored; secondly, instructions are misleading and ambiguous, we were told that at the village spot, we will be given 30 minutes, and it was changed to 45 minutes when one of the group tourists requested for an extension; it was supposed for us to gather back to bus at 2:25pm, but four of us waited till 2:40pm before the tourist guide came out from one of the coffee shop; the rest of the group gradually got back to car in 10 more minutes; but the most unacceptable part is that 1) the tourist guide did not come out to tell the rest that they need more time; 2) we desperately wait for the rest of the group when it was supposed to be lunch time (we were hungry) and the wind was strong, and it started to rain; Not sure if he knows how to respect others, not to mention that we are overseas tourists. Disappointing !!!

Our trip was great! The waterfall was unbelievable!! Absolutely my favorite!! Our tour guide was Ayo who was great!!! So knowledgeable and made the day fun. Definitely take the time to visit the town and eat at the cafe. 5 stars!!!

Was a nice drive not too long the hike to the waterfall was great,
Although did not have enough time to enjoy it, we were rushed so we can go to the bathroom, which has a long line,
Also, would have loved to stop on the way to the waterfall , for some amazing picture opportunities of the mountains reflecting in the water, but it was not an option🤷🏻♀️
Also, the microphone in the van was static, and it was hard to understand the driver/ guide especially with his heavy accent.

We booked with Jake, owner of Valkyrie tours and it was hands down the best tour we have ever done. Small group of 18 and such personalized service! Wonderful! (communication initially was bad, but he made that up, and more with our excursion!) He took us to see sea birds and seals on our way to the waterfall. The ride back included a small town that was beautiful. Don't book with anyone else!

Can climb along side of falls but it is Strenuous for normal Joe! Rocks are steep up and down but higher levels were worth the hike. Chose not to go up to highest levels due to knees. Was a Beautiful day and Drive! Jake was Very Informative about area and customs. Loved the Local restaurant!

Jake was wonderful to listen to. He grew up in the USA and came to Iceland at 21 and could not imagine living anywhere else. He is passionate about Iceland and its history. He made sure all of his group was accounted for and checked in. Very entertaining! Very highly recommended!

We are so happy we booked this tour with Jake. He met us just outside the ship, exactly where he said he would be at the appointed time. We were in a large van, not a huge bus, so felt we got more personal attention and also we were able to go off the beaten path a bit to see things we would not in a large bus. Our guide shared his love of nature with us and pointed out different birds, seals, etc, which was so nice. The waterfall was amazing and we had ample time to hike to the top or hang out and enjoy the spot. Later we drove through a small Icelandic town to see how the people live, and visited a charming old book store. We had lunch in this town and it was a pleasure to interact with the local proprieters who really know how to cook! You won't be disappointed by the carrot cake or the local dishes.
We were on a cruise, and it's worth saying that this tour was 1/2 the price of a similar trip through the cruise line. Our guide was very cognizant of time and we felt like we were in good hands. It was a perfect 5 star tour we will remember for a long time.

Absolutely a must do tour. Not only was our guide knowledgeable but friendly and kind. Do not miss eating lunch in Flateyrn it was the best meal on our entire 10 day journey. Thank you for including it.

The waterfall was one of our favorites, with a bit of a challenge to hike it but worth it. We were able to see a rainbow through it. My daughter and I had a mini panic attack when we couldn’t find our guide van afterwards. They all look alike and our guide wasn’t out with signage! I’d advise you to take a picture of the van’s license plate as they were a little too lacking, and casual in collecting the group. The quaint old fishing town that we visited afterwards was a nice added attraction.

The places visited were interesting especially the waterfalls which were quite spectacular.
The reason for my low marks is the tour provider utilized by Viator. We booked the tour way on advance and followed the meeting place directions to the letter, both time and place. We were met at the location and our names were on the list. They were also taking walk ups. We were directed to an old van which was full except for the four seats at the back of the van. We began the trip and the speaker system was not working (operator error) so we missed the first 30 minutes of the tour (along with half the other people). In addition, the ventilation system was not working properly and all the side windows were fogged over and we were constantly having to wipe the windows clear. At the first stop I told the guide to try using the vans microphone instead of her headset and to open a window to alleviate the fogging issue. From that point on those issues were resolved. One other point was the tour guide spent as much time talking about herself as the points of interest.
Maybe giving it two stars was being generous.
