Step back in time at traditional turf-roofed fisherman’s huts and experience how early Icelanders lived by the sea. The highlight is the majestic Dynjandi waterfall — considered by many to be Iceland’s most beautiful. Hidden deep in the fjords, it’s a true natural wonder rarely seen by visitors. This small-group tour offers a rare chance to discover the raw, authentic side of Iceland — far from the crowds and full of culture, history, and unforgettable views.

This two hour adventure pairs one of the Westfjords’ most dramatic viewpoints with a glimpse into Iceland’s coastal past. The tour begins with a scenic drive above Bolungarvík to the Bolafjall Viewing Platform, rising to around 636 meters above sea level. From the exposed summit, wide views stretch across Ísafjarðardjúp, nearby fjords, and the North Atlantic, creating a powerful sense of standing at the edge of the world. The tour then descends to the shoreline to visit the Ósvör Maritime Museum, a restored 19th century fishing station. Here, guests learn how fishermen once lived and worked using open boats and simple turf buildings, offering a striking contrast to the rugged heights of Bolafjall. Please note that this tour is weather dependent and may be canceled or adjusted in poor conditions due to low visibility and safety concerns at Bolafjall.

This 2 hour 15 minute boat ride takes you into the bay of Ísafjörður exploring wildlife and enjoying great mountain view. Along the way your guide will tell you about life in the Westfjords and about the amazing bird and marine life. Our goal is sailing to an abundant Puffin area, exploring puffins on the water, black guillemots and eiders. The tour also takes you through areas where it is very likely to see hump back whales, but we can not guarantee that. Please note that weather conditions as well as where the puffins are feeding are the factor that decides where we go exactly. we will head to a nearby fjord or close to Vigur island where puffins are abundant and the sea is often considerably calm. The destination largely depends on the weather and sea conditions. Remember to bring a camera, binocular is also very good for looking at the seals (if we go close to the islands) when the tide is low as they sit sunbathing on the rocks. Dress warm.

Bolafjall Sky Walk and Syðridalur Mine. This tour offers a mix of natural beauty, history and a touch of adventure in a small or private group. You'll experience Bolafjall sky walk, enjoy the views of steep cliffs and endless North Atlantic Ocean with Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in the far distance. Also, you will have a chance to learn about NATO's monitoring infrastructure located on the mountain. After walking into the sky, we will head for a short hike to explore the old and abandoned lignite mine in Syðridalur. Hiking at a moderate pace to the mines gives us enough time to visit the Ósvör Maritime Museum as well. Syðridalur in Bolungarvík is known for an old lignite mine which is situated in the valley. It was mined from the mine in the years of 1917 until 1921 or while and after the first World War. To get into the mine you almost have to crawl, but once you're in the ceiling gets higher and you can stand upright. Scenic walk up to the mine takes around 25 min on a marked trail.
