I had a very good day, we took a cable car up to the village Nyong Ping, from where the Tian Tan Buddha sits. Our tour guide was excellent, offered to take me back, but I decided I wanted to return by underground, so he gave me the directions, and off I went. I must say Hong Kong underground is fabulous. Another fabulous day with Viator thank you.

The place, Lantau Island, is stunning! The Big Buddha can be seen on the cable car rides, and you also see the bridge leading to Macau! It was stunning and worth the effort to come here! Also, in Tao O fishing village you can pay 50Hk dollars to go on a boat ride and see pink dolphins. We saw one, and it was incredible! Also, the Big Buddha hike up the stairs isn’t too hard. Most people can do it by taking breaks. The Po Lin Monastery near the Big Buddha was peaceful and stunning too! I enjoyed the cable car rides and the monastery and Big Buddha a lot. It was overall a nice day trip! The free vegetarian food I had with the tour was mediocre. It wasn’t bad but not that great. It was also the Lazy Susan style.
In regard to the guide, she needs to do much better! She DID NOT provide her contact info on WhatsApp in case someone was lost or confused! Not only that, but she forced me to give a tip to a temple when I didn’t want to! She also said that if someone isn’t on time they’re leaving us, which I don’t agree with especially since we didn’t have her contact info on WhatsApp! Also, this tour was OVERPRICED! There’s no way it’s worth $107 USD! The tour guide also made me pay her 60 HK dollars in cash to go back to my hotel with the tour bus since apparently transportation back from the cable car isn’t included in this tour, which is RIDICULOUS!
Because of the tour guide not being great and because the price of the tour is way too much and the fact you also have to pay for the Tai O fishing village boat ride (which should’ve been included in the tour price) and the fact the tour guide made me pay her an extra 60 HK dollars to go back to my hotel with the tour bus that she picked me up, I’m giving this a 3 star rating! They need to improve lots! However, Lantau Island, the Macau bridge, cable car rides, Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery, the pink dolphin I saw, etc. were a delight!

After checking, you have chosen the tour with end point at the cable car station, hence there were extra charges for return transfer which was not included. The optional boat ride was also clearly stated in the tour description.

But really worth visiting the fishing village, stilit houses, LoPin monastery and Buddha

Get there on time...its a long day and worth the bus-cable car- boat to Lantau Island! Layer and bring water. Plenty of bathroom breaks.

A must if staying in Hong Kong a few nights. GL tours and our guide Ken, we’re very well organized. The only downside was the stop at a jewellery store at the end of the tour. It wasn’t necessary but we were told it was compulsory.

Great, well organised and timed tour by Ken. Can't fault this tour, if you want a stress free tour of Lantou Island this is a great option. Be sure to choose the option with the return cable car and return to the city or arrange a train back to the city after the return cable car.

The trip was very good, however there was two different groups on the trip, we were together for some things then split into two groups one was taken back to city centre the other had to find their own way back, if you are not familiar with Hong Kong, it can be very stressful, we had to get the cable car down then find the MRT station and change 3 times to get to our hotel.

The tour advertised as skipping the line at the cable car but waited 90 minutes in line. Next we were told our tour did not include return transportation back to hotel. So we ended up leaving the tour and heading back via a taxi! Avoid Viator for this tour.
