Itinerary

Your tour begins at the Regal Hongkong Hotel in the Causeway Bay area, where you'll meet your guide and head to your first ride of the afternoon—the double-decker tram known as the Ding Ding.

Operating along Hong Kong's bustling streets since 1904, the Ding Ding is still an affordable and leisurely way to get around the city. During your journey, you might pass by neighborhoods such as Wan Chai, Happy Valley, the Western district, Causeway Bay, and North Point. Then head to the Peak Tram, a funicular railway that dates back to 1888 and takes you 1,224 feet (373 meters) up to Victoria Peak for panoramic views of Hong Kong.

Next, pass by attractions and landmarks in downtown Hong Kong aboard an open-top bus, which deposits you at the Mid-Levels Escalator, a covered walkway system that connects the Central district to the Mid-Levels neighborhood, making it easier for locals to traverse Hong Kong's hilly terrain.

Your last experience is the DukLing, a traditional style of Chinese boat known as a junk that cruises across Victoria Harbour. Standing on the deck, take in views of the city as you travel from the Central pier on Hong Kong Island to the Tsim Sha Tsui pier in Kowloon. You can disembark to end your tour at Tsim Sha Tsui, or stay on the boat to return to Central.

I have done a lot of tours all over the world through Viator. I rely on the reviews to help me choose the right tour for me. This tour was booked because it had two positive reviews. The alarm bells should have rung the fact that there were only two reviews. Our guide Mr Yu was supposedly giving us an English tour. He spoke very little English and the tour was simply getting on the modes of transport and him buying the tickets for us. I don't usually write negative reviews but I feel I need to for the benefit of my fellow English speaking travellers. Beware.

We were lucky to be the only 2 on this tour with guide Wendy. We did this on our first day in HK which we found to be a great introduction to HK island. Unfortunately when we got up the Peak it was above the cloud so we saw nothing. A most enjoyable tour and Wendy was very knowledgable so we learned a lot about HK generally. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were the only tourists, so we were able to decide how far to walk, etc. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did the very best he could with a tour taken through the mist. Views were minimal, but Hong Kong island was bustling and interesting despite the poor weather. We especially enjoyed the junk ride to Kowloon.
