The boat trip was good even on a cold grey day. Only downside was buses meant to come along every 20 mins but we waited 45 mins for our bus to get back to our ship.

Compared to other cities, this was a little underwhelming. There may just not be a lot of sights to see or else, the current route just takes it where it can go. Our driver stopped and had us all get out and switch to another bus because he wanted to take a 30 minute break. We had one more stop to go, basically across the street so we could go to the outdoor market. It did not seem very well thought out to do that. On the return, he went down a street that was too narrow to have two cars parked and he could not fit with oncoming traffic. We had to stop an inch by cars. It wasted a lot of time.

We enjoyed the HoHo tour of Helsinki followed by the archipelago cruise. It was a warm, sunny day, but we were thankful for the blankets on the tour boat! Following our tour, we enjoyed a late lunch at the market and hopped back on the bus to head to our cruise ship. Great day!

Great overview of Oslo

Start early,- if you want to do the whole circuit it takes 1.5 hrs and it’s best to do that to get a great overview of Oslo and then you start choosing your hop off points. So many places to do but note bus stops running at 4pm so we didn’t get to see everything we had on our list.

Highly highly recommended! Well worth the money! The best way to get a good view of Helsinki specially if short on time. We came off the cruise ship and had a late start for the day. Still, with this excursion we were able to get a good look of the city and thoroughly enjoyed our time roaming Helsinki. The boat ride was very enjoyable! Blankets provided if needed. 5 stars!

Nice cruise and hop on hop off bus tour. The bus goes around all the sites and attractions and also goes to the cruise terminal. The cruise was very good with a nice commentary allowing sightings not visible from land. Highly recommend

Enjoyed the boat and bus, but poor communication

Poor communication from the provider, not only did they not respond to my messages but the times advertised for the boat at the dock were incorrect, we ended up having to wait around for an hour. Enjoyed both the bus and boat but it should have all been easier.

We, as operating company, cannot fix technical issues faced when receiving the booking confirmation, as you purchase ticket from Viator and that is the platform that is issuing your ticket. If there are any problems with application, we recommend to contact the platform to ensure that all the technical errors are eliminated for fellow travellers who purchase their tickets to City Tour or Royal Line services through the Viator. Otherwise our sales staff will assist you in situations when you have payed and did not receive proper documents. It is possible to go through the system and find the document. Excellent value, especially for the 3 day package. Got it from the cruise ship every day and they even let us take our bags on board on the last day to get to the Central Station for the train to the airport (which was also super good). Stress free and good to have short but enjoyable boat trip as well.

The tour of the city is 1.5 hours and so was the boat tour. The boat tour included is the red line. We also took the blue line which does a tour of the archipelago, versus the city tour. Hop on, hop off is the best way to see the city from the comfort of a seat, while listening to explanations. After taking the tour, we felt like we really knew the city. Strongly recommended.

Only one hiccup

The day we visited, Helsinki was the day of the rain. it poured and poured most of the morning. We were very glad that we had the bus and boat tour booked. The bus came in handy. We got to see all the things that we wanted to see. We took the 4pm boat ride which was very nice. By then. It had stopped raining so it was twice as nice. I did nice way to end our day in Helsinki. the big criticism we had is the fact that we took the 4 o’clock boat tour and when we got off the hop on hop off bus no longer ran. We had no idea that we would have to take a cab or walk the miles back to our cruise ship. You need to clarify on the booking info and confirmation that if you take a late boat tour, you will have to find your own way back to wherever you were going. if we had known, we would have to take a cab back and spend more money. We would’ve taken the earlier afternoon tour.

Loved the sightseeing cruise, the Rock Church was interesting, we saw a cat cafe near the stop in Fredrikinkatau street, the Helsinki Art Museum had a great Justice League and Star Wars display, and I loved the Esplanade. It was disappointing that the botanical gardens didn’t have a cafe.

Worst excursion ever!

This excursion was beyond terrible. Bus did not pick us up at our ship but had to walk to nearby terminal. Waited on line almost an hour in the rain, then bus finally showed up and the driver was unintelligible. Never explained our sites details. Couldn’t find stop to arrive back at ship, so took taxi for $36 . Don’t ever use Red sightseeing. Horrible in all respects!
