Itinerary

Start the day with pickup at your Hanoi hotel, and leave the city behind as you drive into the scenic Ninh Binh countryside. Learn about the Emperors that ruled Vietnam since ancient times, and visit historic temples dedicated to Dinh King and Le King, who reigned in the 10th century, before the imperial capital moved to Hanoi.

Visit a local restaurant for a lunch of typical dishes from Ninh Binh, then board a boat for a trip from Tam Coc. These traditional boats are often rowed by local women, and you’ll have a unique perspective on the landscape as you float through a series of natural caves. Capture shots of paddy fields that brush the base of vertical limestone mountains, and enjoy the easy-going pace of Vietnamese river travel. After three hours on the water, return to the dock for the trip back to Hanoi, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Do not book this tour if you are going by the description as it is wrong. We specifically booked this tour as we would be able to spend more time on the water and there was no bicycling component. When we showed up, we were told that we would be on the water for an hour and a half and then bicycle for the remainder of the time. Several people chose to sit out of it, but then we would have paid to just be sitting around so we hopped on the bikes that felt like they were going to break at any moment. Description needs to be updated, but would save money for another tour to Ninh Binh.
