Hanoi Shore Excursion

Great tour of city and its culture. Our guide Peter was very knowledgeable and able to answer any of our questions. Peter was hospitable and provided us with a great experience. He exposed us to Vietnamese culture and a very local dish Bun Cha Ta at a local street restaurant situated in Hanoi’s French Quarter, colloquially known as Bun Cha Obama, venue where former President Barack Obama ate a six dollar authentic meal. The visits to numerous sites, especially Ho Lo Prison (referred to as Hanoi Hilton by US soldiers) and Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (resting place of VN revolutionary leader) were memorable. The only negative and not a fault of tour company is distance from cruise port (at least a two hour drive). Fortunately, we had a very comfortable mini van. Peter was mindful of fact we had to be back at ship in Ha Long Bay by certain time and we were. Peter and his driver were very professional. Would recommend this shore excursion tour.

Liked our guide, Mickey & he made the long drive trip back to the ship fun with karaoke. Enjoyed seeing Hanoi despite the traffic though I was surprised by the one sided view especially at the Hanoi Hilton stop. Really enjoyed our lunch at a local restaurant which included a wide variety of Vietnamese foods. Mickey was very flexible with us and our schedule.
