We had a great tour with Duong as our guide. She picked us up at our hotel and took us to see many areas around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter. I am vegetarian and she brought us to a great restaurant where I had the most delicious vegan Bun Cha - I would go back again! Duong took us to the Ancient House and her explanations about the house and the family that lived there were so interesting and informative. We also enjoyed chatting to her about her life and sharing information about Australia. Whilst she told us this was only her 15th tour, she did a great job and we felt that we learnt a lot and discovered some areas that we may not have found on her own. I would highly recommend this tour, and it was great that we did this on our first night in Hanoi.

If this is your first visit to Hanoi, book this tour first! Our guide, Neo, picked us up from our hotel right on time. I had a list of places and things I wanted to see and do. Neo made it happen! His English is excellent and he knew where to find ALL of the most amazing spots. He exceeded every expectation. As a native, he knew so much history about the area, and gave us recommendations for food, snacks, and activities. Thank you so much Neo for helping us plan an amazing trip!

The Walking tour is just US $ 5 only and the guide takes you around many sites in Hanoi. The most impressive was the Train Street and having the famous Vietnamese food Pho from Haboi's best Pho Restaurant. The Guide Dat is a very polite and knowledgeable guide who speaks good Engish.

Quick city tour and local food

We had the honor to have Linh as our tour guide, which we had a great experience with her. She showed us around the city, which places are the most known, popular and everything we had to know about the history of a certain landmark. I had an evening tour with Hannah, she took me to a couple of really good food places, she talked to me about the city and the history of it. We went to a few of the significant sites in the city too. She was great company and it was an informative introduction to Hanoi on my first night there. She also taught me how to cross the road there (trust me you’ll know once you experience it). I highly recommend this a a first day experience.

We had a wonderful time hanging out with Linh, who showed us around some nice restaurant, the train tracks and the puppet show. She also gave us some tips of things to see in Hanoi and Vietnam. Note that this is a volunteer experience, not a professional guide, and you get to spend time learning from locals and discovering a more authentic part of town.
